Bhindi_Bhaji
Hi all, As the subject says, will GTAIV run well on this laptop: Windows 7 64bit Intel Core i7 Processor 720QM(1.60GHz,6MB cache) 8192MB (2x4096) 1333MHz DDR3 Dual Channel 1GB ATI Radeon HD 4670 graphics card Western Digital Scorpio HDD, 320GB 7200RPM 16MB Cache I'm assuming fairly well since it's above the recommended specs. Thanks for your input. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/442548-how-well-will-gtaiv-perform-on-this-laptop/ Share on other sites
Crossz0r
I've heard GTA has some problems with laptops. I don't know whether it's true or not... Garfield 2
You should use Turbo Mode with that i7 - it will boost it up to around 3GHz so that will give you decent performance. I'm only worried about the graphics since the desktop 1GB HD4670 is not that great and it's well known that the laptop version of the graphics cards are always slower. Bhindi_Bhaji
Thanks for the input, I'll just have to give it a go. I did read a couple spec sheets and comparisons for the 4670, on paper it seems ok. By comparison it's supposedly somewhere near an nvidia 9800GTX, obviously this is based on the desktop version. If it's no good I'll just stick with the console versions. I just wanted to mess around with some of the mods. Cheers for the tip about the i7, I'll do that. DjMiikkii
Why would you even buy a 'gaming laptop', they're rubbish. Build a desktop with your money... DjMiikkii
Who ever said just because you need a desktop it needs to be big. There are small cases out there you know. And please use the search button at the top OR LOOK AT THE PINNED THREAD AT THE TOP OF THE "PC Performance Tips" Section. Your answer is there. When I've had desktops I needed them to be big because of multi GPU's several HDD's, a couple of optical drives etc. Also it's not just the PC, it's the desk and monitor too that takes up space. I used to go all out! And yes I saw the sticky, I just wanted some opinions of the hardware which Garfield 2 kindly provided.
