That's how Valve works, you don't know when is an update is coming until it pops up on their blog, at most a week beforehand... I hope they do it like on TF2, with some time showcasing all the new stuff and then releasing it all together for us to go crazy with it... But I don't think that'll work considering portal content can be pretty much only maps... Minic Posted July 5, 2011 Share Posted July 5, 2011 I doubt they'd do TF2 style updates for Portal 2, they do the TF2 updates the way they do because of the content of it, new weapons for classes, new maps, possibly something else maybe. With portal 2 it'd most likely be an expansion of the Co-Op levels with some new mechanics built in there somewhere and they'll probably market it much the same was as they have L4D content, have a press event showing it off, let the press play it, make a trailer and then release it, all the over the course of a couple of months. meta187 Posted September 30, 2011 Share Posted September 30, 2011 (edited) I finally got around to playing and finishing this game this last week and I have to say very few sequels are as satisfying and funny as their source material but this was easily the exception to the rule. I was in no way disappointed with this. It was witty, clever and dare I say ingenious at a few choice parts. Great script and story, so many small things revealed from the original that took a nice lead in the follow up and a multiplay option that did not feel rushed or like an added afterthought, it was actually fun to play through as well. Not sure how they could expand upon what's already been done here but I look forward to anything Valve chooses to do with it in the future. This is the first I've heard of free DLC for portal 2, I've just completed it as well, after months of debating whether to purchase it or not. I'm looking forward to the DLC. Gotta say, the fact that it was free made it even more awesome. It took me about 3 and a half hours, playing with some random dude with a mic and it was still pretty brain racking. Those were seriously some of the most difficult puzzles I've ever seen in the game. I'm sure there's a few that I'd have difficulty with even going back in for a 2nd time. Great surprise ending. *What's this "Professional Office Sentry Turret" you speak of?
