Whenever I move the mouse across the screen it lags behind. It doesnt feel smooth whenever I move the mouse. It isnt jerky just slow moving. From where it feels like the mouse should be it is always a few seconds behind. Clicking on buttons with this is quite annoying.

hope this help.

  • 1 month later...

I also have the same problem. The welcome screen or the menu lags often but sometimes it runs smooth and also the mouse problem happened every time I press escape button.

Here are my specs:

Intel core 2 Duo P8800 2.6 GHZ

4 GB RAM

window 7 32bit

Nvidia GeForce 9600M GT

actually I'm using the bootcamp of my macbook pro 15 inch 2.66 GHZ

I tried searching all over the net for the answer for my problem but I can't find it so I join here hoping you will help me. I also have another problem: when I try to click the autoconfig in the graphic setting the game will run in window mode, not in full screen but it runs smooth when I'm in the game but not in the menu. Please help me.

mkey you're a fcking idiot for still thinking GTA IV's mouse lag is hardware related. i think you got that medal for being the best troll rather than being helpful. gtfo and go play some REAL shooters and compare their mouse input to GTA IV's then talk, scrub.

GTA IV's mouse lag is in-game, not hardware related. It's a shyt port.

Dear nitwit,

I don't think it's hardware related, I think it's software related. A "driver" is a piece of software lol You fail at life so hard you should cash in on a disability claim.

Guess what the driver is affiliated with? The card. Drivers don't cause mouse lag. If anything it's FPS lag. FPS lag/stutter =/= mouse lag. Btw EVERYONE has to deal with this shyt mouse lag. EVERYONE has different computers. You're too much of a stubborn idiot to even realize the mouse lag.

So please...

GTFO and take your FAIL with you.

I suggest you take some relaxing medicine. Weed or something. Just light one up, sit back and read the following text.

Back in the old days, when I still used a Pentium 4 3.2GHz 1GB DRR1 nVidia GeForce 8600GT 256MB, thus FAR under the minimal specs, the game ran like sh*t. Just like sh*t. Not normal sh*t. But the sh*t you sometimes have when you haven't eaten vegetables for a few days. It's laggy like that. But one thing did work: The f*cking mouse. It was WONDERFUL. When out of the map or the graphics menu, my mouse worked WONDERFUL. When ingame, me mouse still worked without lag, but i had a very low FPS.

So it's defenately NOT hardware, but sh*tty drivers.
