Sorry I've been away, sorting out some real life ish.

@Claude: That Madday track was fantastic.

@Mockage: That track by Landslide did indeed make me want to smoke but I've been on a bit of a tight budget as of late. I'll certainly revisit it when I reup.

@Tyler: I first heard Aloe on a hip hop track last year called, "To Be Determined" and looked into him a bit after that. Very talented, soulful dude.

@Sakuya: That Cities Aviv was right up my alley, love that Float On cover.

@Sauron: Sad to hear you'll be away for a while, you always drop great tracks in here. Fire! Santa Rosa Fire was something special.

@DOOM!: That Roku - Enemy Anthem was not only worthy of listening to for three hours on repeat, you know me well enough to know I was all about that video.

@Butters: Thanks for dropping that off, very pleasant.

@fireguy: I spent about 3 hours the other day listening to the Hendrix station on Pandora, an easy favorite.

@Sound: I've listened to that song before but had no idea about all the background info on it. I have a lot more appreciation for it now thanks to you.

Synthey goodness.

Sleepyhead gets a ton of play but there are some other really great tracks on this album.

What's black and red all over?

Ooops I lied.

Local Australian band, quirky.

The Drums released their new album last month, Money was probably the stand out track for me. Couple of great remixes too.

"I made this song using only sounds from Apple products and Steve’s 2005 Stanford commencement speech. Every instrument, including drums, has been sampled from a Mac product, tuned by ear, and replayed in the context of the song.

I hope you enjoy listening to this as much as I enjoyed making it.

RIP Steve. We’ll miss you.”

I posted this video in the Steve Jobs topic, but I thought it would also be appreciated here. Impressive track considering.

Might of posted this before. Touches me every time though. An old U2 song. It's quite sad and moving. It's dedicated to a Kiwi they befriended in New Zealand who became close friends with Bono.== [/center]

I know of them, I don't really get the "genre" here though, outside of GTAF, no knowledge of this music genre, if you call it that, really. I have been an ardent music fan for all my years, mind you, but I don't travel outside the USA so scope is a factor.

Media outlets, certainly a factor, more so in the past

RE: Sauron's Apple music for Jobs, Should stretch beyond The Mac, that was 1984, and the first Mac failed to make a needed impact due to software needed and not developed beforehand.

I'd be using APPLE II sounds as well, in honor of Job's hand in that machine as well. Even though Woz built it, they both get credit and defined early computers

Hello, gentlemen.

I'm not going to lie - I've missed Q-13 a lot.

Just been too busy with real life shit like depression to post, but I'm happy to be back.

Green Day's pretty much my favorite band right now, and Good Riddance's just one of those tracks of theirs that have kept me from quitting - it's a great reminder of how we should always look into the positive side of things and enjoy the little things of this life that we're only going to live once.

Damn, I haven't been listening to rap for months...

This is pretty much the only song from this guy that I haven't spun yet, and ironically pretty much the best of his, from an EP I'm so glad to own, and a funny little fact - I own the last copy ever sold.

This topic gave me an idea some time ago, to make a mix with relaxing music. Here it is:

I made the intro track. Also credits to Narcisspeed for the animated logos!

Edit: All the tracks in this mix are free, so you can find some download links in the video description.

@Cheat: Green Day definitely has it's own sound. I think the first time I heard "21 Guns" I thought of them.

@q_b: Nice man. That complimented my internetting perfectly.

Played some SA the other day and heard this. Don't think it's a repeat.

Slick Rick - Children's Story

EDIT: That video might be hard to watch with the song if you're building your own visuals. Switch to a different page if that's the case.

Anthony Green's voice is great. Just f*cking love this band.

This song makes me want to go out on a cold damp evening and take a smoke.

@Rown Glad you liked it. I'm thinking of making more stuff like that, but with better tracks and mixing, sometime in the near future.

@Mockage Nice vibes there.

Just gonna post this song for now, since my last post wasn't far away. I've got more coming soon.

Voice sounds a little strange but it's still a nice song. I've actually discovered this by accident on some guy's channel.

@q_b = Nice track there. The voice kind of reminds me of M83's "You Appearing".

Doesn't sound like it, but it still reminds me for some strange reason. Good track anyways.

I've also got some other great stuff coming out soon.

So yea.

I'm an avid gamer. It's taking everything in me to tear myself away from Skyrim long enoigh to post these days.

@Saury: That Steve Jobs thing was awesome.

@Rown: We're on the same page on classical composers, Bach's a fav. The Slick Rick's also one of my all time fav true old school joints.

That and La Di Da Di are the two first hip hop songs I memorized word for word.

@Guru: Damian Marley is pretty much a staple in this house.

@Mockage: Kind of reminds me of the Silent Hill 3 soundtrack. Also I'm REALLY into M83 this last month.

@q_b: Elsiane has a really cool unique voice and used to work with Broken Social Scene so I'm def feelin' her.

@Ats: I think you're ready. wink.gif

Amazing new song and video by M83. You may have heard it when you were fapping to the new line of Victoria's Secret commercials.

Nice throwback feel to this with just a hint of Beach Boys.

All about this track.

Laid back dubstep.

What's not to like. biggrin.gif

Oh and even though everyone probably listened to this already, I f*cking love it so:

Justine Suissa's voice is amazing.

Pretty damn chilled out. First time I heard it I was so sure that it was from the 90s coz it had that 90s vibe to it, was kinda surprised when I found out it came this year. Driving to this late at night would be pretty sweet.

Apologize for the long absence once again, I think my extended holiday in the snow capped mountains of Skyrim is finally drawing to a close.

@q_b: You can never go wrong with Gramatik

@Ats: Cool but decidedly menacing in tone.

@Skins & Doom: Gotta say, I've been sleepin' on that dude as well, really enjoyed those tracks. I'll def check out some more by him.

@Cheat: Au Revoir is one of my wife's favs.

@Butters: Awwww! You totally beat me to the punch on that new DJ Shadow. I was really excited to play that it here. Good call.

@Craig: As always a great mix of things. That Reporter - Venice really caught my ear.

@Warlord: You can never go wrong with Mr. Wonder.

Phenomenal new Bon Iver redub.

Nice and low key.

Been a while since we heard some Temper Trap.

Here's a track I found while I was looking at the soundtrack for a game I used to play when I was 7 and I first got my PS2; Midnight Club Street Racing. It was used in the introduction sequence. Anyway, I always thought it was made for the game which was annoying as I loved the sound of it from the 30 second intro, so I was chuffed when I found out it was a real song, dangerous tune at that.

Here it is in the Midnight Club: Street Racing intro

On a similar note, here's the song from the main menu of said game

I wonder if anyone remembers these?

Howdy gents.

Been intae my 'minimalstep' in a big way lately. So much of the music I'm around at the weekend is so kinetic and consuming that during the week I need this stuff for my mental well-being, haha.

Did my last post really include a song that had been posted earlier on the same page? Christ, I need to get a grip, man.

Really into Empire Of The Sun right now. They're on my list of different, I'm in love with Luke Steele's voice and the general diverse synthpop-meets-indie-thing sounds really brilliant.

Essential for anyone who likes jazz. By far the best jazz album I've heard, IMO.

This guy is mega talented, a rising force in the jazz world. His last album Avenging Angel is all solo piano improvisation and sounds like an instant classic.

Van Dyke Parks performs a rendition of this song off his under-appreciated 1960s classic, Song Cycle (at the time the most expensive album produced, promoted as the next Sgt. Pepper's). I can understand its limited appeal, the orchestral arrangements are incredibly dense and demand attentive listening.

"The Gymnopédies, published in Paris starting in 1888, are three piano compositions written by French composer and pianist, Erik Satie.

These short, atmospheric pieces are written in 3/4 time, with each sharing a common theme and structure. Collectively, the Gymnopédies are regarded as the precursors to modern ambient music - gentle yet somewhat eccentric pieces which, when composed, defied the classical tradition."

Well ahead of its time. This is 1981.

The most immediately satisfying song off of this great six-track album. There are some really good covers of this song as well.
