Session 11 Complete~

Session 12 Begins~

I'll try and get the new Setlist out this weekend, I have most of the pages compiled already so it shouldn't take long this go round.

@Cheat: Yea, I'm definitely feelin' that dudes flow and production.

@Warlord: Was that posted in Electronica topic originally? Seems like I remember it as well.

@Benzoboy: Welcome. I had to find another link to that song on YT as there was some sort of block on it here in the States but don't worry about your song "fitting", this thread is pretty much Open Format, just post what puts you in a good or relaxed mood and keep rolling. Good song to start the new Session off with btw.

This caught my ear the other day, the album is kind of a mix of artists from all different genres, very cool.

Creepy as fook.

Friday, irie.

I'm pretty sure that this song is meant to be listened to while blazed.

@Benzoboy: Love that Beastie Boys track and that album is sweet.

Been listening to Yes again lately. This track I'm posting is long but very chilled with nice beautiful synths and guitar picking.

Check it!

TPSF: You're right, that track was nice and chilled. I'll make sure to look up more songs by Yes. smile.gif

Ultimate Spinach has plenty of good songs but this is one of my favorites.

If you don't know Dead Meadow, I suggest you look them up.

Glad you listened The Guru.

Ok, not gonna get much kudos for posting this but I don't care what people say about Bono but you can't take his singing voice and lyrics away from him. This is a beautiful track done live in a church in Harlem with a sensational gospel choir. Have a look if you like the odd bit of gospel. The energy in the room is ecstatic.

Also, something completely different. Got turned on to this yesterday. It's great.

Here's a new dubstep track I heard recently. I'm not usually into the new 'mainstream' dubstep, I'm much more a old school dubstepper, back when it was just simple beats with dark overtones. But I quite like this

Found this on GTAF a long time ago. Really sweet track.

Oh and check out this remix too, better than the original IMO:

A nice DnB remix of a song I love:

f*ckin' drumstep maaaaaan:

Here's one some people may recognise from the Inbetweeners Movie, great track with more than a hint of the 80s

Heya, I apologize for the long absinthe and the hold up on the Setlist, I've had some RL ish as of late I'm trying to sort so my time here for a proper listen has been limited at best.

@Guru: Bringing in an old groovy vibe with that Green Spinach and Dead Meadow for sure.

@Sound: I really enjoyed that gospel rendition by U2, very soulful.

@Parky: Long time no see, that Bobby Brown remix was going on. Oh and for the record, while it's true the Black Eyed Peas is pretty wack in it's current form Will.i.am spent a ton of time behind the boards as a very legit Hip Hop producer prior to going pop so you may find some pretty decent side projects he's worked on such as The Beat Generation series where he really showed off his artistic chops.

@Warlord: That MGMT track was a total and fully convincing throwback compared to their more contemporary fair. Those Trentemoller tracks were positively dreamy as well.

@Benzo: You've been nice and active for a newcomer to the Lounge, electro and electro-pop tends to pull a lot of 80's influence with a big synth heavy sound which is probably why I'm such a sucker for it.

@Scifen: You can indeed get a "woot woot". Nice build on that one.

@Mockage: I got turned on to the Weeknd through this last season of Entourage, they have some amazing tracks. That Maybeshewill was something new, had a hint of Explosions In The Sky but a little faster and to the point.

So we've played a track or two by Pogo in the past but I really took some time out this last week to listen to his stuff and the guy is simply amazing. He not only takes so many random sounds from popular cartoons and movies and uses them to create these amazing tracks he also builds a beautiful melody to frame them around. A lot of people have shown themselves to be effective samplers but this dude is a straight up musician.

Time to lead the parade of dinosaurs. Seriously, picture a bunch of gnarly dinosaurs in a marching band and this is how it would sound.

Been a few sessions since Eskmo got any play in here, let's remedy.

  • 2 weeks later...

Been dead as a door nail up in this beach. tounge.gif

@Warlord: The Sorpranos had an excellent and diverse soundtrack throughout the series to be sure.

@Ats: It's funny I could track all of the songs you've posted in this thread over the last two years and literally see you improve with every new offering. Keep at it man, your acquiring some pretty solid musical chops there m'man.

Cheer the f*ck up, sourpuss.

Really nice and understated.

Love this.

Claude Speed.

It's been a while...

For the last hour or so I've been listening to the songs on this page and I favorited some good ones.

I like the 8-bit sounds in that first tune, Ats., I wouldn't have imagined someone else likes to use that type of sound in their music around here.

While I've been away, I've found some nice tracks\songs, here's some:

This is the full track. There is an official video for this but I find this version better. This band has become my 2nd favorite band last month. This tune is just awesome, so uplifting, it makes me happy every time. If you like this track you should definitely check them out!

I've been listening to their tracks recently and I've found this great tune and I knew I had to post it here. I really like the vocals, they remind me of Burial.

This is one of the highlights of this summer's finds in music for me. Very chill track!

Been exploring Aloe Blacc lately, dude's got a great voice and some funky tunes.

We've all been there.

Personal favourite, got this one recommended to me by eDad.

Not usually one for covers, but this is pretty awesome.

Last post for awhile, but i'll leave you with some hits. Ciao.

New single from Fire! Santa Rosa Fire, local Australian band.

If you enjoy the above, they have a couple of decent tracks on their album. Is She and Touching are also great. Thinking about it, all their tracks revolve around sex.

Holy f*ck, that 'Mo Money Mo Problems'/'Free Fallin' mix was nice.

Ivy-League Zombie crew is the only way I'll watch Anime.

Had this on repeat for 3 hours at work last week.

I'll add a track with lyrics at least.

"If all else fail, inhale an L"

Hmm. Not a frequent visitor here, so I don't know if this is an okay place for this...

Saw this on Imgur today.

Was anyone from this forum there for this world-changing event?

I was researching it and I was amazed at some of the people who didn't come. Bob Dylan, the Doors, Led Zeppelin, the Byrds...

Might of posted this before. Touches me every time though. An old U2 song. It's quite sad and moving. It's dedicated to a Kiwi they befriended in New Zealand who became close friends with Bono. He came to Dublin to work for the band as a roadie. I heard different variations of stories but the main thing is that he was going to collect something for the band on a rainy night and his motorcycle slammed in to car and he was killed. Bono wrote the lyrics after the funeral. The title comes from a volcanic peak in New Zealand where against the odds this big tree grew on it. The song is quite difficult for the band to play and "only play it for special occasions" like playing in Auckland, New Zealand, where they dedicated it to the 29 miners who lost their lives at Pike River, NZ
