Just found this track last night. Been in my head a few times and never known what it was, and was over the moon when I found it:

Should hopefully fit within this topic. Find it to be quite a good, relaxing tune.

Some other songs I find to be quite 'relaxing':

(Absolutely love this track...the video is so powerful sad.gif )

Not posting any more as I think I'm getting this wrong. blush.gif

@Uno: Your name change threw me for a loop as there's an old schooler here who used to go by Uno Carb but the shortened version makes sense to me now. At least you didn't call yourself "44" for short. People'd just think you were middle aged and listened to Eric Clapton.

Love ya, Ty. wink.gif

@Craig: That Glasser's a real standout for me. Mount Kimbie's a great find as well.

@Warlord: Haven't listened to Dinosaur Jr since the mid 90's, really brought it back for me there.

@.Lycosa & Butters: First Off, welcome to The Lounge, Lycosa. This thread is considered "open format" so if the tune puts you in a good or relaxed mood it's welcome here. While it's true we do offer up genre suggestions in the intro, it's completely subjective at the end of the day. There is no "getting it right" or wrong as it were, just share the tunes that give you a good vibe and maybe listen to something new along the way. That's about it.

This song has a ton of remixes, this is one of the better ones thus far.

Dubtastique.

Finish strong with this one.

Been a while since I've had to double post but I wanted to share these while they were fresh on my mind today.

Premium service on this one.

Some solid words to think about in the lyrics on this one. ^

"The heart. A vital muscle organ responsible for pumping blood through vessels by rhythmic contractions. This symbol of life and love is the quintessence of the sound concept behind Tokyo Dawn Records' new compilation project of love-drenched heart beats.

Including over a dozen previously unreleased songs from some of today's most engaging producers such as Machinedrum, Swede:art, Robot Koch, Jay Scarlett, Simbad, fLako, Comfort Fit and more, 'The Heart' also features special vocal appearances from Georgia Anne Muldrow with her original song for Mos Def's latest album, Questlove's sister Donn T, Quadron singer Coco, soul queen Jimetta Rose, Blaktroniks and more. 18 declarations of life, love and lust compiled by TDR founder Marc Wallowy.

Supported by Gilles Peterson, Charles Webster, Jazzanova, Nightmares On Wax, Mike Grant, Laurent Garnier, Jazzy Sport, King Britt, Recloose, Dom Servini, Michael Rütten & many more."

One of my fav Heron songs, really subdued on the vocal delivery compared to the original but it works.

Lycosa, that instrumental from BDE is really tight. I'll post this track from K.I.D.S. by Mac Miller.

I've been bumping this track nearly every time I've got high since I first heard this.

That was quite tasty, Warlord.

Just a bit of background for this one. A few months ago I bought Frog Pockets' album "Come On Primates, Show Your Teeth" expecting it to sound like Venetian Snares' "Rossz Csillag Alatt Szueletett" through some reviews I'd read. It turned out it wasn't quite the same, but there were some beautiful melodies fused with breakcore influence here and there. This one is one of my favourites just for the flute alone.

Yeah K.I.D.S was a sick album (so was the movie). Got a Mac Miller Discography from a bro the other week, his 2007 stuff is so much different. Here's a few more nice instrumentals.

Sadly the biggie instrumental has someone muttering in the background (probably the vocals that tried to be edited out.)

And another chill track, sadly noone has uploaded the actual MP3 to YouTube, but the skating is still sick.

Last one, a track that was produced for Shane Cross' Extremely Sorry part (RIP icon14.gif)

@Guru: Despite my knee jerk reaction to immediately boo a cocky caucasian kid from the suburbs, Miller has really grown on me. I felt the same about Curren$y but they both usually have great production.

@Warlord: That made me go pack one. Woy-ya! FiYA!

@Craig: I loved the build up on that one. At 1:09 it kind of explodes into some beat you upside the face DnB and I start to feel sketchy but the low drones reign it in. At 2:13 the sh*t comes back together.

@Lycosa: Big Gang Starr fan from way back. That Extremely Sorry was an interesting find as well. Oh and I think your 3rd song did not post.

To create the new video for The Low Anthem's single 'Boeing 737' the team at End of the Road Films took to a deep forest in rural Scotland. Here, a flock of wire-walkers move through the skies as they are pursued by a band of circus men. Feathers fly and axes swing as the graceful figures are brought plummeting down to Earth. Featuring the world renowned high wire walker Jade Kindar-Martin.

Sexy little tune.

I found this funky little joint the other day while I was diggin' through some of my old albums. Holds up pretty well.

@Brad: The wife and I are both big Lykke Li fans but I'm not so much on Kings Of Leon as her, however that was a great sort of cover-mash up-remix. We both liked it quite a bit.

Love, love, love the Flamingos sample used in this. Do yourself a favor and listen to the original directly following this.

Right chair. ^

Awesome f*cking video.

Final Page of Session 12, get your last spins in for the next Setlist, good people.

@Warlord: lol.

Certainly one of the more interesting things I've listened to this week.

Loving the echoey distant vocals on this track.

Two great tastes that taste good together. Amazing track.

A long time ago I used to group the Smashing Pumpkins in with other alternative goth/hipster/grunge/trying-too-hard-to-be bands of the 90s. It's about time I make amends to that. I started listening to them from the off song 1979 getting stuck in my head a few weeks back. I felt adventurous, so I went ahead and downloaded all of Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. The entire album is a range from life to death. It's insane how much difference each song really has. Billy Corgan is a master of his form and even though the lyrics to some of the songs can feel a bit forced, I find myself relating to most of his music without effort.

Anyway, enough wall-text, here's some favourites tounge.gif

Smashing Pumpkins are a good band, but I can't say I dig their newer stuff. The way they're releasing it is pretty cool, but I just can't get as excited over it as, say, Gish or Siamese Dream, but that might be the case with everyone. I am anticipating their latest, Oceania, due in October. Hopefully it'll trump Zeitgeist.

So, my favourite musician Buckethead released three new albums a couple of weeks ago. I ordered them in a heartbeat. I'm halfway through the first one after listening to this frankly mindblowing track.

It's a bit a chunky clocking in at just over 10 minutes, but the album this is from (titled Look Up There) has only two tracks, with the other weighing a beefy 20 minutes. I wouldn't protest though, as this is some of the most delicious, cool, collected and tight guitar playing I've ever heard. He's had a wobbly couple of years but I'd say he's back, and the bucket hasn't slipped from that genius head of his. Even if you just listen to this once, you'll find it sticks with you long after it's left your speakers.

Uhh, mind if I add something?

If it's too "metal like" or "hard" for this topic I'll gladly remove it.. but for me, it's a good chill song.

@Typo: Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness was pretty much the peak of Billy Corgan's efforts for a lot of us, it's been difficult getting into the newer stuff quite as much.

@Craig: Buckethead's mad talented and puts together these crazy rocking and beautiful musical landscapes. Wish he'd drop the "Buckethead" thing and just go by his name or whatever, he's one of the best guitarists of our generation, he needs no gimmicks. Hard to pick a favorite out of that last batch but Ordinary Things was all "break it on down one time!" for me.

@Brad: Been a little while since we played a Penguin Prison remix in here, that Temper Trap one was a nice stand out.

@Warlord: Certain aspects of that Subscape track reminded me of the Chase & Status song posted on the last page, very nice. Also that L.D., Clockwatching didn't have a lot of bells and whistles but that simple low classic dub baseline vibe really brought it home for me.

@Mockage: Welcome and your selection was perfectly fine, we're pretty much "open format" here.

Voodoo chile.

Love all the city views on this.

Hoping The Black Kids drop a new album some time in the near future, it's been a minute.

Dunno if I posted this before, but it's got this really melancholic, heavy, emotional sound...

Been gone again, but I'm delighted to see that you guys have been keepin' it rollin'! Nice tunes everyone.

My father introduced me to this jam group a while back, been completely lost in their tunes lately, really mellow stuff.

Although no cover can ever come close to Guns N' Roses, this stuff is mad... No wonder he's a YouTube sensation, he deserves that!

@Cheat: Welcome back ol'friend hope all is well. Soul Shine was a nice change of pace.

@Straws: I was way off into jungle and DnB in the early 2K's, that first track by the "Unknown Artist" really brought it back for me.

@Mockage: Big Massive Attack fan from way back, that 65daysofstatic totally remind me of Incubus on a few of their arrangements.

Seriously rich instrumentals coming from this well seasoned Hip Hop producer.

He really dusts off this classic hymn and goes to town with Wu-Tang soundbites and guitar solos.

A really nice progressive sound, rolling forward in perfect step.

I like this nearly as much as the overly played Paper Planes.

Strongly agree with you on that. It's why I like their music.

Here's something pretty ambient. Really good chill music...

@Warlord: I can def see both influences at work within that track, great combo.

@Mockage: The wife's been listening to quite a bit of Hammock lately, all of their material is really serene like that one you posted.

Came across this bangin' Wu Tang cover album today.

El Michaels is a Funk/Soul group. This song is from the album "Enter the 37th Chamber" where El Michaels Affairs does full-on instrumental versions of Wu-Tang tracks.

Does anyone else realize how amazing this is? a DJ samples records to interpret a new sound from live instruments. here, live instruments are interpreting the DJ's sampled sound of other live instruments! this dude is taking a hip hop sound and translating it back into live instruments (with his own style on top of it)! I think this reversal says a lot about the artistic value of those hip hop beats in their purest form. I wouldn't classify C.R.E.A.M. as anything but real hip hop.

Been checking this out as well, a great album, very savvy with a broad range of samples and sounds.

Great nod to Doggy Style.

I blathered about this fella a while back, posting a couple of music videos. His EP dropped a few weeks back, and I went downtown today to snatch the last copy the only retailer had to offer, and I've been bumping the EP all evening long - not just one of Finland's finest, but one of the world's finest. You don't hear a flow like this no more.
