Foster the People's album dropped last week and it's epic.

Bit of The Wombats that I've been listening to over and over.

This song has a great sound and an equally impressive film clip.

ed - Just watched that Derezzed guitar cover, holy sh*t is that for real?

Two of my favourite songs at the moment.

Stumbled across this rare FlyLo track, had to be posted here. One of the best and most experimental ever.

@Cheat: Ended up listening to a ton of FS Green after that initial spin, he's laid out some sweet ass mixes that Easy Lova was sheer genius.

@Sound:Definitely a departure for Aphex, kind of showing off their composer chops.

@Kev: You know I love that Red Fang video.

@Straz: Nice upbeat transition to break things up.

@Sauron: I ended up DLing and listening to that entire Foster The People album based on that initial track. Great find.

@Masterkraft: That Venetian Snares had a nice dub thing swinging back and forth throughout.

All about TS this week.

Another live performance from the VEVO Power Station in Austin.

Synths in SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAACCCE!

@Nizzo: I want to thank you. For letting. Me. Be myself.

Also that Hypercaine was positively uplifting haven't listened to a DnB track in a while that I enjoyed as well as that.

A few more of my favorite things from this week.

I know it's not like me to post an artist twice on the same page but this

track really grabbed me as I went on my Twin Shadow tare this week.

Haven't played any of my fav modern day prophet up in here as of late but I really

dug his cover of a song by a group I'm not a huge fan of. He really makes it his own.

Best thing I've heard all week.

Been digging the ragga and jungle of late. Was up to the wee hours yesterday listening to mixes.

Jungle and the like are definitely my presence these days for getting a smoke where reggae once was. I think reggae can just be a bit too chilling, but stuff like this stands at a good middle ground.

Oh, sh*t! Is it meta's birthday? If so, have an amazing one, my man, you're the dopest on the boards, word up icon14.gif

@Craig I haven't always focused on your posts with that much emphasis, but you and I seem to have a lot in common, at least music wise. Loved those joints you posted, Kyo Itachi beat was beast and Lady Brown always gets me, my fave Nujabes track, I should really listen to him more.

@Straz thanks for the reggae flavor, the mix was on point, but the War Ina Babylon had me jammin', great stuff.

@meta Matisyahu seems like a talented fella, and I can co-sign your words on the Broken Social Scene track.

@Lethal Nizzle that Sly & The Family Stone is a classic. If you don't funk to it, something's wrong with you. Nice gem there, thanks for postin'. Now it's in my head, but that's just positive.

First heard of Median in nowhere else but Connected, he's on 3 tracks on it, I believe. Amazing solo stuff, he has a bunch of 9th feats, this is just one of 'em, the album Relief is a pure gem. Another example of how hip hop still lives.

GTA IV and The Fusion FM have been keeping me entertained on my sick-leave lately. Funky.

Love this Spinners joint here, really vivacious and vibrant. Always makes me smile.

@Straz: Definitely liking the jungle when I lived in Orlando that was my main music for a while. Goes better with e.

@Sound: lol. That Nina Hagan freaked my wife the F out.

@Masterkraft: That Olger Zilske was a nice standout.

@Cheat: I was filling the flow and the message in that Median.

Thanks for the birthday wishes. I'll play something close to my person for the occasion.

@Unoriginal I can see why my man Guru likes Chad, I loved the track you posted as well. Energic, yet so smooth.

@meta I really need to look into this Matisyahu dude whose tracks you've been posting, he has great talent and a really original sound.

I know, not the types of tracks you'd expect for me to post, but they're beautiful so I had to.

Just couldn't pick one, so here's two by Dave Matthews Band, actually, they've been just a name for me this far, but I'm gonna have to check out the album these tracks are on, it seems to be more than decent, and some good change just for the sake of diversity.

I still haven't managed to "get in" to Kanye's new album, don't get me wrong, I've listened to it hundreds of times, but I guess the old Kanye is just so, so much better, although exceptions exist. Bon Iver has been a great addition to the group of people you see popping up around Kanye, gamesguru introduced me to some of their solo music and they seem to be really original, I can suggest checking them out.

@Cheat: Yea Matisyahu's pretty much on another level, speaks truth to my spirit in a very personal way on his lyrics. He sort of got his big start at Stubb's here in Austin, very soulful dude indeed.

Something new.

On the f*cking level.

Been a while since I played some Blockhead in here. I've had to restrain myself.

Chillin' to some smooth jazz, really calming.

Found this 9th gem just now, really good, like his stuff always is. Lovin' the sample.

@Cheat: I have a real love/hate thing going with "smooth" jazz. Seem to love it when I'm driving, hate to think about the yuppie in the SUV driving up next to me listening to the same thing. I've listened to quite a bit of 9th Wonder and always like his tracks.

This caught my ear the other day.

It was Cheat who actually broke Aether in here for the first time, I believe.

Consequently, it has been one of my favorite finds this year.

Last time I played Pepper in here it was his amazing Built a Boat. Def check that out if you haven't heard it.

First time in the topic, so excuse this if it doesn't fit in, and if it's already been posted. Just got into Deadmau5 the other week, and think this fits into the "chill" group quite well.

@Butters: Welcome. We've played some Deadmau5 in here before but not that particular track, I don't believe. We're pretty "open format" in here so never be too worried about what you play as long as it keeps you in a good relaxing mood.

Classic.

Really wish she'd make a new full length album, one of the sexiest voices around.

Appropriate title.

I love Mylo, still whip out the CD myself every now and then.

Been liking Plan B a lot lately, Suzanne in particular. I still find something really chilled out about this tune, the content of its lyrics don't seem to take away from that for me. Minus the chainsaw bit, lol.

Also whipped out my old copy of Ex-Military from Death Grips recently. Guess I've just been liking obscurer hip-hop lately.

Something different and more fast-paced for the sake of diversity. Enjoying this groovy tune.

Feeling like playing a reggae tune, ya mon? Just to keep that irie vibe up here.

Nothing like a Wailers gem to do that.

Must be my first time posting actual ambient music...

No matter what, ultra mellow, vibrant and beautiful.

Massive Attack's Daddy G and Melaaz, an underground french singer. Extra relaxing.

@Butters: Caught that Mylo track a little while back and really liked it.

@Strawz: That baseline on Death Grip was bad ass.

@Wizard: I'm a big Quantic fan.

@Cacti: Have fun at the Phish concert, post pics. Matisyahu was actually a roadie for them at one point when he was younger.

@Cheat: You posted some great tracks but I think you missed that Wailers tune I don't see it.

Love anything with Little Dragon.

Something new, very contemporary yet folky.

I've been on a James Blake kick for about a month now, he has a large body of work to listen to.

@WizardOfTruth Miles Davis, Curtis Mayfield? You've got my attention! Can't definitely go wrong with Eric Clapton and Cream, neither. Nice post, brethren.

@meta you posted a collection of sweet tracks once again man, I guess you know exactly which tracks to post in your own topic tounge2.gif

Nice to see you 'round with a proper tune too, kev.

Been in a funky mood today, listened to everything from Funky Drummer to Express Yourself, and ended up winding it down with this.

One of the best guitar pieces, period.

To continue Wizard's theme, a slow jam from Curtis Mayfield. Q-13 regulars know that I'm a big fan, it's been a while since I have seen someone spin a record of his.

Here's to his memory.

I listened to The Wall again today and I contemplated spinning a record from the album here, but the fact is that I find the album more beautiful due to it's pressure and message, making it a difficult one to play here.

It's true, the songs are vibrant, but listening to the lyrics of the track, the beautiful side fades and the ugly truth the songs bring up pop up in a more melancholic way.[/center]
