@Skins, great stuff, favorited!

@Cheat, love the first track! Beautiful!

4mat's new video (coded by himself):

A video I made for this ambient XM tune:

Ignore the creepy intro.

Great tune:

Those AFTA-1 joints are tough. Believe has got a real nice groove to it.

@Skins: Definitely on point with the PUTS joints, love a lot of their instrumentals.

@Cheat: Amon Tobin's pretty masterful, he's done a few videogame soundtracks. That Morning Jacket track really caught my ear as well.

@Claude: First time listen on that Sub track, very nice.

@gamesguru: That Baby Huey was right on time.

Lyrically, very close to my heart.

Nice low key kinda thing, borders a bit on spoken word.

This was sampled for The Avalanches phenom debut Since I Left You.

From the new Earth album. It's much darker than their previous The Bees Made Honey in the Lion's Skull - like a mix between that and their earlier album, Hex. The song Father Midnight has a solid droning bass line, with a rhythm that builds tension that never releases, and drives the song deeper into the soundscape.

Got a pretty depressing feeling today when I stepped out of my bus while listening to this song. I stepped down into some snow that was watery and it started sinking into my shoes... Nonetheless, great song.

@Moon: Welcome back stranger, I totally remember The Bees track you posted a while back this is a nice follow up to be sure.

@Guru: Mac Miller's an emcee for this next generation, I always like his delivery.

@Wizard: Welcome. Steel Pulse, Nightmares on Wax, Wax Tailor. Hellz Yea. They've all been played in this thread in the past, good selections. icon14.gif

Setlist 9 is Out.

(Sauron delete a PM or two for Gawdz sake tounge.gif )

I was really off into SP through the late 90's had all their records and EPs, concert videos, the super rare The Aeroplane Flies Low Boxset.

After they brokeup I never really jumped on that Zwan side project or listened to anything newer by them, perhaps I should see what they're up to now.

@Cheat: Always love Miller's instrumentals.

@Lance: If you like that older mid 90's World Music you should check out Deep Forest's first album they have a simlar eclectic sound as well.

@Kev: Mish was playing that Under The Influence of Giants track for me the other week. Good song but those guys look like they're going out of their way to look like hipster douchebags or something. lol. Definitely a switch in style on the AWOLNATION track.

@Champs: That's a very different sounding Linkin Park track compared to some of their previous stuff.

@Malfoy: I have a album called My House in Montmarte you'd probably enjoy. I really dig that Parisian Lounge sound.

Like the Chromeo blended into this.

Catchy damn song.

Need to catch up on this thread, it's been awhile. Here's a few tracks that have been on rotation.

Change gears as Meta would say.

Also been listening to Gypsy and the Cat, The Joy Formidable, Years Around the Sun and The Naked and the Famous.

Final Page of Session 10, Get your Spins In.

Need to catch up on this thread, it's been awhile.

I'll say, Kev just posted that AWOLNATION track a few posts back. Also delete a few PMs when you get a chance so I can send that new setlist to you.

Now lets take a look at a few of your suggestions.

Great sound and video concept, liked it a lot.

Very sonic and splashy, I like some of the choice effects they used in this as well.

I think I played a Naked and the Famous track on the last page as well so I checked out Years Around the Sun and like this simple song quite a bit.

Not at all. If you look back through the thread a bit you'll see we are pretty much a "open format" thread with an eclectic approach to making sure diverse selections are played. The intro explains that in a bit more detail.

You ever notice that The Horror starts out with the splash from the Scooby Doo theme song?

One of my favorite things found this week.

Bluesy sound and soulful vocals, love it.

@Sound: I played that Beastie Boys track for my wife and she was absolutely shocked to find out it was them as opposed to STP.

@Skins: A lot of people don't know this but G.ifted U.nlimted R.hymes U.niversal was one of my main influences growing up as an emcee and more than anyone else I was often compared to him when people listened to the tracks off my demo, Rough Draft. It is physically and spiritually painful to me to see the man passed away, he was and is a major influence. Premier is an all time fav with Ayatollah being a close 2nd as well.

I really like this guy's work on the Ping Pong Orchestra project.

A great cover from Jamie xx.

Mister Pink

@Skins: Always a pleasure to meet other Beastie Boys fans as I've been a huge fan since I was a wee lad and I keep going back to them smile.gif

@meta187: Hehe, as in Stone Temple Pilots? It's a really unusual track. I love the lyrics. I wouldn't be a huge lyrics man as much as I used to be but I looked them up today and had a nice read and I think they're stinkingly good.

I'm really digging the first track and the Ayatollah track. I've never heard of either before.

I wanted to post another unusual track from the Beastie Boy's Hello Nasty. This one has a sort Drum & Bass twang - probably just the Amen break with some singing over it and again no rapping. Really shows that the Beastie Boys excel in music universally and not just hip-hop. Mixmaster Mike was first recruited for the Beastie Boys for Hello Nasty onwards you can here his priceless input throughout the album.

On the subject of Premier, I was listening to MC's Act Like They Don't know by KRS One and Premiers on that track. I never noticed until now.
