That was exceptional. Love it.

E & Cash, Coming straight out of LOCASH!

Sorry CB4 reference. blush.gif

Here are a few things I've been listening to this evening.

Simply beautiful.

Has a real G-Funk vibe to it for me.

Hello my name is meta and I am a beat junkie.

Like the lead strings in this.

A little world music to switch up.

Produced by MF Doom, I'm feelin this girl.

Pardon my few days' absence due to the renovation in our place, but the internet is back up and running again, so...

Music.

It's hard to put Bullion's production under one or even two or three genres, but I think this is some-what psych-pop or something of the like. Check out the Young Heartache EP icon14.gif

It's a shame this tune only goes on for two minutes, it's very, very beautiful.

Now, a personal favorite of the three above tracks, Theory Hazit's Hello Kiddeez is a dope, and I mean this, really dope LP, this is one of the few instrumentals found there, but the vocal side of it is just as good.

Bad times require good music.

I'm bit a of a trance nut, so not sure if this entirely fits into the lounge theme so well. Nonetheless, this is my favourite tune to jive to at the moment.

@Sauron: I really hate to use the expression "epic" anymore but that 8 Bit + Mixtape had me trippin'. biggrin.gif

@Cheat: I was listening to an Eligh track just the other day I really liked. That Theory Hazit is something new I'm definitely checking them out now.

@Stefche: Long time, no see my friend. The trance was actually a nice change of pace, always welcome.

Love this song.

Again, just beautiful harmony.

This song is pretty close to my heart.

This has been one of my favourite tracks of the past few months. I posted a link to the album which was available as a free download in this very topic, not sure how many of you checked it out, but they're f*cking great.

Pretty well known for their track "Let's go Surfing", another greet choon.

Pretty mainstream, but I love Florence. In the pants.

I apologize for the brief absence I've been really wrapped up in a side project.

Anyways, I did download that Beat Connection album Sauron and really liked it. The one I wanted to download but haven't that you mentioned was that Blue Hawaii. There's been quite a bit of buzz about Florence & The Machines as of late and you can really understand why when you listen to that track. People were really impressed by them at the VMAs. The Drums sound like a next gen Beach Boys really liked them as well.

This really caught my ear earlier in the week.

She did this cover justice.

And to kick it back up a notch.

@Claude: I didn't know what to expect when I first started listening to that but I really enjoyed it. Do me a favor and checkout Telefon Tel Aviv and let me know what you think. They have a similar sound.

Oh yeah, they do have a similar sound and I like them.

@Minus The Boom, that Linkin Park song is quite good and different from what I've heard from them. BTW, I posted that Cosmic Baby track in the previous session. You must have found it in the Rate The Song Above You topic. I'm quite fond of it too. It just has that unique vibe to it, I can't describe.

@Minus: There's better ambient music to be heard, that tracks a bit dated from 1992. The sounds changed and improved a few times since then.

Music is good regardless of age. That track happens to be one of my favourite ambient tracks of all time, it's not very complex but it gives me an unique feeling.

Now back to my track submission...

Matt Simmonds (4mat) is my main interest right now:

It's a bit plain but there's a few parts I just love.

Another great track.

Not very fond of this one since it's too upbeat for his style but it ain't bad.

I actually really liked the first one you referred to as "plain" something about the low drone felt nice. That along with the drums, snares and slightly menacing organ in the opening gave it this really understated sense of drama.

Something airy and light.

Classic rock selection.

Switch gears.

Welcome XMike. We've played quite a bit of dubstep in this thread so it's more than welcome.

Great way to kick off the new Session.

Session 8 Begins~

If you've ever watched Infomania on Current you'll recognize this song immediately.

Good song to wake up to.

Really like all the guitar distortion working its way through this one.

Excellent selections meta. I actually posted that BoC track in the fifth session and I agree that the guitar distortion is great.

My contribution:

Awesome sound.

My fave from the new album.

Haven't posted in here for a while now.

@ XMike: That track was just amazing. Great way to hop in. biggrin.gif

@ meta: gramatik eternal love was really relaxing but also had a good vibe.

@ Claude: All of those three tracks were brilliant. icon14.gif

Now here two.

All I can say is that Aesop Rock is a genius.

Found this pretty interesting.

Nice session starters, XMike & meta.

@Guru that herbalist track was purely awesome, nothin' like dubstep with just enough reggae on it.

I felt like posting some dubstep too, and Widdler's still the greatest.

Don't know if anyone is aware of Wale Oyejide, but he has some great and different tracks, he has worked with Dilla and MF Doom a little too.

Topic description has changed to "~Everything In Between~" to signify our Open Format Listening approach. Sure we have a few genres we like to play stated in the intro but we have played all kinds of music here in the time that we've been open so I just wanted new people to feel comfortable coming in the door and less hung up on music genre. Good music is good music.

@Claude: I kind of thought perhaps you had posted that in a earlier session as I remember you posting a lot of Boards of Canada tracks a few sessions back but I was pressed for time and couldn't check back, good track regardless. I liked that opening track you posted and Pendulum is always good.

@The Guru: Thanks for bringin' the dub with that Alborosie. Aesop is a pretty smart dude one of my fav songs by him is that one about the girl who draws pictures her entire life until she dies.

@Cheat: I'd agree The Widdler is one of my favs. You have a PM btw.

Listened to a lot by them this morning settled on this one.

Random find. Kinda rockin'.

Really dig this one.

@meta that Hood track was beautiful, kinda melancholic but beautiful.

I like the way your posts have all kinds of genres on 'em icon14.gif

I'm in a house state of mind, so I figured I'll drop a deep house gem.

I just can't stop listening to this.

Same Meta, i'm really feeling the Hood track. Everything so far in this session has managed to fit my mood today, so it's a very promising start.

I really wish I ran across the right kind of tracks for this topic more often. I really need to build up more of a 'chilled out' collection. The majority of relaxing songs I have, I've collected from this topic. But until then, a little bit of Slick Rick/Outkast. Even when the guy's angry his flow is so smooth. 3 total random ones from the first page on youtube just to add some contribution:

Slick Rick - Street Talkin' Feat; Outkast

Outkast - Da Art of Storytellin' Feat; Slick Rick

Slick Rick - Behind Bars

I haven't received a Session 7 Set List, is it still in the works?

Yes it is.

Don't rush whoever is making it. lolz

Too bad Depakote isn't even a little famous, it's hard to find his songs online.

But "Solomon" is his masterpiece.

Ras G needs no introductions, this track is so beautiful... Ohh!

Well again we have sort of adjusted the thread criteria to be more welcoming, basically we're just seeking out good music that puts you in a good or relaxed mood, that kind of opens the door to a lot of things.

I actually own all the albums you played, good stuff.

@Cheat: I really liked that Depakote track a lot.

Matisyahu did a really good cover of this but I couldn't find it.

Sounds a lot like Sublime, I dig it.

Like the video that goes with this.

Very true, but I still feel certain genres/styles fit the bill much more comfortably than some tracks that i've seen posted. That's personal taste though, so i've become incredibly picky.

The Electrified track is brilliance, mate. Angel Echoes and Bulimic Beats are a nice listen as well. I can see those workng well in soundtracks for short films, so I'm going to have to steal those ones icon14.gif

@Guru nice dubstep gem you picked, I couldn't help noticing that it follows a four-to-the-floor pattern, which isn't typical to dubstep, but hey - change is always good! Like I said, it's a gem.

@meta the best ways to spend time with your pants on is to listen to a song that builds up as well as that Four Tet track, I wouldn't press stop even if payed on a song like that. Great choice.

I've seen a lot of chiptune played here, which usually is a genre that makes me want to kill myself but recently, I discovered Dibiase who has some great 8-Bit tunage on his cleverly named Up The Joystick EP. Check it.

While working on the setlist, I saw a G-Funk goldie meta posted, and I realized I haven't been seeing any Quik on this topic.

What a shame, right? Gladly it's now fixed.

@Cheat: lol at that Captain N sound bite in the beginning of that dope Dibiase track.

Quik is always on point as well.

This Lil' Kim instrumental had me nodding my head the other night.

And again, there's a dope combination of things going on with this track.

Classic.

This is my first time posting in this topic, I don't know what classifies as mellow music here in this topic, but these songs i'm gonna post make me pretty chilled out. I listen to a lot of "lovers' rock" which is basically smooth, slow reggae songs.

Listened to a bunch of songs already on the topic, good stuff...
