Rown: Kashmir is easily one of my favorite Led Zep songs.

meta: Yppah track has a really cool sound to it.

I got DJ Krush's album Juka the other day. It's got some real nice stuff on it. This is one of my favorites.

This song always gets me in a good mood Shifty41s_beerhatsmilie2.gif

@Claude: I liked the samples in the 2nd track and the 3rd track really caught my ear. You're right there was a good message there.

When are you going to do another video?

@Guru: Love the Krush track and MC Lyte along side Missy made for a pretty classy torch hand off.

Groove.

Nice Combo.

Very engaging track.

@meta liked that Time Machine track, nice sampling. Lukid was pretty nice too!

Here's an original version of a track I posted a while ago.

When it comes to hip-hop, Pete Rock is a huge inspiration to me.

This right here is a classic.

@Sauron. I'm new to mashups... but I gotta say they're growing on me. nice stuff.

@Cheat Daylight is almost contagiously upbeat.

Was going to throw out what I was watching last night, but the makers of Otter's 2nd video inspired me otherwise.

Wow. Thanks for spoiling a dude today, lot of great tracks rolling in. smile.gif

@Sauron: Consistant as always. And as always hard to pick a favorite. That MashUp was brilliant.

@Cheat: Yea Pete Rock is a Hip Hop superhero, as far as I'm concerned.

@Otter: Wow. I was really feeling Evil on that track. Totally relate to the whole post Hip Hop, Hip Hopper vibe on that one and could definitely relate to a lot of what he was saying in the lyrics. That Josh Martinez was really catchy as well.

@Rown: That Alice Mix was a pleasant surprise reminded me of that Winnie the Pooh based Nosaj Thing track I posted a few pages back.

Switching through the dials. Tune In.

Original Flavor.

I noticed Matt and Kim was posted earlier. They've released a new track in the past week or so which I really like.

I've been listening to Röyksopp's new album recently, and this track is one of my favourites.

The track I intended to post was The Way That You Are by Paul and the Patients but I couldn't find it on youtube. Instead i'll post this track from a Montreal outfit known as Blue Hawaii whose album is a free download.

Been workin all morning around my house and having fun running Photoshop CS5. I have been lost in the tunes of The Black Keys.

I have always had a soft spot for bluesy rock. Also, I have always liked two piece/oddly piece bands. Seeing them put out some monster tracks with nothing but a simple drumb set and a electric guitar blows my mind. Really made chillin out and passing time this morning f*cking great.

Whatever your opinion of Linkin Park, you can't deny Chester Bennington can sing. His vocal range is pretty amazing. This new track from A Thousand Suns is all him singing (apart from a small bit of Shinoda rap at the start/end) Thought it would fit in this topic nicely. Personally I enjoy it.

Just coming off a long Holiday weekend, any spare time I had I put into The OGAsm so thanks to everyone for keeping the light on here while I was out. Lot of good tunes.

@Cand: Al Jolson was looking majorly zooted up in that old clip, had me crackin' up.

@Sauron: Liked all those tracks, I'm going to have to track down that free Blue Hawaii DL, sounded great.

@Kev: I spent a long afternoon driving back from Dallas a month or two back listening to the Black Keys, love that classic bluesy sound mixed with some of the more contemporary sounds, it's a good combination.

@Claude: I didn't know what to expect when I first started listening to that but I really enjoyed it. Do me a favor and checkout Telefon Tel Aviv and let me know what you think. They have a similar sound.

@kippers: Yea, as I said previously, I actually think Linkin Park are the best thing to survive that sh*tty era of nu metal and have emerged as a respected group of people with actual talent despite their commercial success.

Let's ease back into this, shall we?

One of my favorite tracks off that album. Reminds me of Kelis's first album that they did the production on.

Like this live performance but I like their little cutting up before they start the song as well. Beautiful Harmony.

@meta nice sound to your post - you don't let me down!

Especially liked that Old Pirate song, it was dope.

@Kevin no wonder you're lost in those tunes if you have been rockin' them the whole day, I just started and I'm already in another place man! Great music.

@kippers to say it nicely, I was as disappointed as I could when I heard The Catalyst.

However, after the new track you posted and a few leaks, I'm getting my faith back together.

The next LP could be better than Minutes to Midnight... It could. Noice tune mate.

Takin' it iya, ya mon?

This song is addictive.

All good choices, Cheat.

That Anubis track really fit my mood today for whatever reason.

If you like Sublime check these guys out.

A little more of that signature SoCal sound.

Nice little track to wind down with.

Goodmorning!

@meta nice mix of genres on that Pepper track, s'all good.

Another day, another Dilla.

BLK JKS (or Black Jacks) come from Johannesburg, although you may not guess, or well, at least I didn't.

They got some nice tracks on their After Robots albums, if you like the style of Lakeside you're gonna like the album.

Whitest Boy Alive doesn't have much tracks I would like, but this one is different. I like it.

Vanilla Shake

While STP may have their hard rock side, they also have their more relaxing side, and I think these next few songs encapsulate it.

^This one was re-recorded and released on a deluxe edition of their new album.

Great for just kicking back.

@Vanilli: I've always thought STP's greatest strength is their range. They can go from writing a solid rock song like Dead & Bloated to turning around and performing something meloncholy and introspective like Kitchenware & Candybars. Timeless sound.

@Cheat: Erlend Øye is the lead for Whitest Boy Alive, he's done a few solo albums and also heads up the Kings of Conveniance which you would probably recognize as the background music played in that Geico caveman commercial where he's going through the airport. Long time fan of his work but it is pretty mellow, not for everyone. He did a really nice collaboration with Röyksopp I'll play for you now.

The Smiths are covered in this particular Mash Up as well. Love it.

A bluesy instrumental set by Jack White's side project The Raconteurs.

Putting that flava in yo ear like Craig Mack.

@meta I see, well, I fall in between of "liked it, nicely mellow" and "didn't like it, too mellow", nah mean?

Almost too smooth, but not quite, nice tune.

Oh, and The Racounteurs had my head knocking. Can't remember what it was exactly, but The White Stripes has a track that once has been very much playing nonstop on my computer.

Seems like Röyksopp is liked around here, as it is pretty much a constant artist to feature in each Session. Here's them at their greatest:

Final Page of Session 7, last call for alcohol or whatever yer tokin'.

Been a hectic day, friends.

@Cheat: Right On. icon14.gif

@Minus: There's better ambient music to be heard, that tracks a bit dated from 1992. The sounds changed and improved a few times since then.

I need this playing full blast over the intercom when I'm going grocery shopping.

@meta what? Mute n' deaf? It's purely awesome for them to keep their music in rhytmn for mute n' deaf, a lotta respect on the fact they doin' it.

These two are from an EP FlyLo did with Declaime called Whole Wide World.

Actually, I only heard about it yesterday or so, it's from last year though. So smooth!

I'm most definetly looking up this Study Guide album, I have to get it, these songs by Question & Freddy Joachim are siiick.

Now I don't know who the heck is Prisma, but this is something to nod your head to!

Also found a few other songs from this self-titled album, whoever he/she is, the music is dope.

Went well over 3 posts, but good music is worth posting! icon14.gif

Yeah I know, but I really like this track for some reason. Maybe because it reminds me of the Water theme from Super Mario 64 -

Although it seems that was more in my mind than anything else...

The delegation in the back slowly walks out of the lounge, but not before emptying the glasses of Cognac, and smirking at the twenty year-olds drinking zemas across the bar.

Sorry about that, here are some Warrior tracks, from which I got not only a sense of New York pride, but also the sudden sensation to Jive.

This track gave me the sense of an old club I used to sneak into as a child (Particularly as closing time, when the truly drunk would barter with the bartender trying for one more glass).

This one was a bit more like the introduction to an early 80's-esque Television show. In fact, you might notice the exact same melody as the intro to GTA: Vice City.

@Cheat: You know I never complain but you've really been stepping up your game this session it's going to be hard to narrow it down to one selection on you. Sauron's the same.

I'll forgive the over 3 song post thing since it's already happened like 4 times this session. lol.

And all of those were really good tracks.

I'll send you the setlist template to fill out this session if you like. biggrin.gif

@Cand: Always liking some Jaga. No two songs sound alike with them which I like. Did you ever get around to listening to some more of that Beirut I suggested.

@Vanilli: Ahh that f*ckin old school Grand Puba inspired one of my selections tonight. I've owned that CD for years.

@Minus: Fun game. Good Memories.

@Unoriginal: I got a serious affection for The Warriors soundtrack after I played all the way through and hit a 100% on the game. I've always wanted to go back and play it again. I still remember feeling like a bad ass for sticking around and beating up everyone in the Baseball Furies gang without running away which is what they expect you to do.

Back at'cha, TwoCan. Still not sure why this guy jumped out of a window. He's still alive though.

Love everything this dude does.

Nice little play out.

Nice to hear you like it!

I'll send you the setlist template to fill out this session if you like.

Sure, if you don't have the time, I can fill it out.

..if you pick the studio selections and essentials tounge2.gif!

I believe another hard task to complete is narrowing down the best songs from Kan Kick's Beautiful: Opus Of Love, Deeper Than Flesh vol 1 - 2, they're full of beautiful tracks.

I think the second volume is slightly doper so I picked these two, they're all up for checking out though!

Dimlite definetly knows how to make a sampler sing. He has done multiple releases along the years but his debut, A/DD from '03 is still the tightest.

He has multiple styles with a bit of dubstep in some of his songs too, kinda like FlyLo with his alternative tracks, if you haven't heard... Well, now you have!

Also, I was having a wild idea, that when we someday reach the 10th setlist, we could try to put together all the Studio Selections and Essentials and put it all up as a compilation mixtape, full of the sickest and smoothest joints. Think 'bout it, Session 10 is still a lot of pages away.

Oh yea no issue, The setlist is literally just you filling in what's been played on the last 5 pages, I take care of the rest. Thanks for the assist. I've been considering doing a Q-13 upload mixtape for a while now. In the way you see a lot of those free mixtapes gamesguru posts a lot. Just click on the cool graphic and you have music ready to download and play. Again, I'll get with you and games on that when it gets closer to that time.

On what you played, I'm really into Dimlite been trying to work in at least one track by him in per session. Kan Kick's a big heavy as well just great tunes from track to track no fast foward just play, ya'know.

Just keep it moving.

Oh No is pretty damn tight as well.

And some J. Rawls to round it out.
