One of my Mum's favourite songs ever, always puts it on if theres a ska compilation CD in the car. Has grown on me over the years. icon14.gif

@PK: Loving that, man. Keep us updated on when they come out with something new

@Nizzo: Good to see you around more this week, man. If you haven't listed to "Silvia" by them...DUDE GO RIGHT NOW!

@Jake: Good stuff, as always really like that Rankin Full Stop joint.

Slightly menacing, very good.

Fairly recent but has that old 90's indy lofi feel about it for sure.

Nice and upbeat.

Nice funky bass line.

Don't think I've played these guys before.

Cute video.

Lethal Nizzle

Going to be huge once it hits the airwaves!

Found it on iTunes Single of the Week a few months back, nice blend of folk and indie:

One of my favourite of Dre's, and one of the best instrumentals in rap history.

I'm liking all the Crystal Castles appreciation above.

I was surprised that I had to go all the way back to Session 1 in my search to see if The xx had got a play yet. Just the one so far, so have another:

Edit: Another chilled song by them, a remix of Florence and the Machine's You Got the Love:

We should really have a remix thread.

We should really have a remix thread.

Remixes always welcome here. icon14.gif

Speaking of which I think Sauron posted a really good remix/mash-up of DMX with the xx earlier in the Session.

I really like the breakdown towards the last half of that You Got The Love track.

@Nizzle: I have that Dre beat as a permanant fixture ring tone on my phone. Always makes me think of Training Day. cool.gif

Fresh 2 Death.

Problems?

Watch this. You'll thank me.

I f*cking love this one!

@at the Crystal Castles song, it is my fave off their new album. Can't say much about the band since they were involved in some controversy but that song is pretty ok.

A little 8 bit tune with a kickass bassline.

Funky track!

This gives me a feeling of nostalgia...

Yea, it's not really enough to not make me like them but an interesting issue never the less.

That Summer in Detroit took me back to Orlando for some reason.

Flawless as always. Love them.

Nice little guitar driven set by them.

Switch gears.

Been getting back into Kid Cudi's album lately. Thought these two songs would fit well in here:

@Chunk: My wife's not into Hip Hop as much as I am but she really likes a lot of Kid Cudi's stuff.

@Sauron: Tough call, those were all really good. That Paper Tiger was a strong lead in. King Charles, Flux Pavillion and that Whale track really caught my ear as...em well.

Very serene, reminiscent of The Smiths and Rufus Wainwright.

They have another song called Dubrun that's really good. Check it out if you get a chance.

The more I listen to these guys, the more I like them.

Been a bit quiet in here over the last couple days...Oh well, keep it movin'.

A lot of people probably look at Sauron's sig and wonder why Johnny Cash, Mickey Mouse

and a common horse are all hanging out together but they would be wrong.

This is a match up I would have never thought of.

Switch Up. Click Clack. Pow Pow.

I can't even remember the last time I clicked the Add Reply button in this thread, but I'll try to post more often from now wink.gif

Yes, I admit, I find most of the songs I'll post in this thread by searching youtube for chill out music, call me a loser but I enjoy it since sometimes (nearly always) I'll find something I like. For example this:

The butcher, the baker, time to meet your maker

Tell you to your face, you ain't nuttin but a faker

Probably one of my favourite musical acts.

Mellow.

Mash.

@Meta: I've followed Ratatat since I first heard Seventeen Years and Germany to Germany years ago. I think they have declined since their first album not because they have lost their touch but more to the fact that they have run out of sounds to create. Still some of their work is spectacular.

Damn Guru, f*cking dope tune.

Ats, I remember that song very well, along with a few else it was one of the first hip-hop songs I heard/listened to a lot. Some live for the bill, some kill for the bill...

Along the same theme, I'm positively surprised about what this summer's hits consist of.. Couldn't find an instrumental without a hook, nevermind though because Bruno Mars has a beautiful voice imo.

Never knew this one was on Rocky, I've heard it outside of the movie a few times, it's beautiful.

That Billionaire instrumental is awesome, I really don't mind the hook, might even be better than the one without it.

I've really started listening to a lot of Mase. I'm really thinking of getting Double Up soon. Here's some from that album.

All I Ever Wanted

From Scratch

And here's one track I play constantly but I'm not completely sure if it fits here.

Diamonds - J Dilla

To everyone who has played FIFA 2003, or heard this song when it was first released, a heavenly slice of nostalgia for you in musical form.

I kind of feel that way about Daft Punk and Air they both have cultivated a cool signature sound over the years but really haven't had anywhere new to go on their last albums.

I've seen something similar to that Axis of Awesome clip on youtube but that is seriously superior. That Paola really caught my ear as well.

@Ats.: Good to see you in here it's been a minute. Still working on your music?

@Cheat: Liked that instrumental from Rocky. Good to see you as well.

@Nizzle: For some reason that song isn't showing up on the page.

@Guru: Been a while for you too, that Lamb track was really good, they've been around for a bit now have gone from sort of a Portishead clone like Hooverphonic to having their own sound.

Please, please, pleaese let all these girls be actual girls. blush.gif

Not a huge Akon fan but this is pretty good. Has a pretty socially conscious message in it as well.

I've listened to a lot of Asher's stuff so I was a little skeptical when you posted those. Gotta say they are actually pretty chill and introspective, pretty surprised hearing that from Mr. "Nappy Headed Ho's" Roth.

Tap into your center for a moment...stop touching yourself that's not what I meant.

Has some fairly organic elements to it.

A little funky and upbeat.
