Just found out Kraftwerk are coming to my city again to do a big outdoor 3-D concert. Yess! I was hoping to catch them at Sonar in Barcelona but it's proving to be a little expensive. Can't wait to see the 3-D ness, those old German bastards are always lightyears ahead.
70's Electronic track about..guess what!?
Bear with me on this - I stumbled upon this song about a month ago and was instantly
drawn in. This short clip serves as great promo material for a group that has a long road
ahead of them. I look forward to the album, which I believe is set for release tomorrow.
Theo Hutchcraft has a good voice but you can definitely hear his youth. We'll have to wait
a decade or so to see if he holds up.
from Hurts - Exile (2013)
Because on occasion it is necessary to disrupt an otherwise chill place:
Supposedly apart of a Game of Thrones advert, I had no idea. Awesome song none the less, been listening to it a sh*t ton lately.
Super chill song, with excellent lyrics. Another track I've had on high rotation.
If you didn't get on board with my Flume reccomendation earlier, he dropped this remix a couple of months ago. Fantastic edit, upbeat vibe.
Refreshing sound for hip-hop, been listening to too much 90s stuff I guess.
One of my favourite producers around, Damu has a very unique sound.
1:58 is infectious.
^That Huxley track was seriously nice. When that bass line kicked in at 1:58 I got a shiver down my spine. Excellent choice.
I stumbled across this today. A stunning chill-out track from a couple of Icelandic chaps.
@860: I certainly love Lykke Li but you def brought something new and good with Handss & Saux. (there's a joke in there somewhere I think)
@Pink: Kraft have been at it longer than just about anyone else in electronic music, crazy longevity.
@Exxon: Come Back!
@KK: As much as I know you love Depeche Mode that def seems right up your alley.
@Sauron: Liked all of those but MS MR was a stand out for whatever reason, very Del Ray with the sharp annunciation and the heavy backbeat.
@Gig: Nice slow burn on that one.
Worth dusting off after a few years. Similar to Passion Pit soundwise if you enjoy them.
Lest we forget some of our reggae/dub beginnings in this thread...
Way too supreme not to share publicly.
Been listening to GIAA a lot recently and stumbled across this song and I must say it's my favorite one by the post-rock group.
Meta seems to be familiar with majesticcasual so this might have been posted. Then again I am so not going to dig through all dem pages.
Stumbled upon this when I was browsing through a few posts in a random Facebook page dedicated to music.
@Meta: Miike Snow is probably in my top 5, I absolutely love those guys. Weird that you picked my favorite song off their self-titled.
@860: That Wild Belle track was dope as f*ck, I'm looking into more of their stuff now.
@Stefche: Solid beat to that tune.
I gotta throw some of Tyler's new stuff in here, the whole album is chilled out summer music. Definitely grab it if you get the chance.
So yeah, according to the comments this is on Bioshock: Infinite. I first heard it on Treme and loved it.
I've been loving on Will to Death recently and I feel like the end track is just about perfect. Enjoy.
Really moody, ambient and beautiful...
@meta: The Machine Gun Funk remix is the sh*t. I think it's in my top ten most played tracks and it still hasn't got old. Love it.
Hadn't seen any Jai Paul in here, do a google search and check out the amazing leaked album if you like. Been waiting 2-3 years for him to release an EP. Just don't buy it until he releases it through XL.
Stumbled upon this EP today, Dream Cruise by Soichi Noriki. I've searched around and it seems to be pretty rare, which is disappointing to me because I fell in love with it the instant I first heard it. Unfortunately he doesn't seem to be making music anymore, this EP in particular being released in 1984 and his only other in 1983. I haven't been able to find much information on the artist himself, so I don't know if he's even still alive.
Was going to post this in Electronic Music Topic but I thought it might go unappreciated in there. This is a beautiful, heartfelt and rhythmic track. Last track on their last album before they broke up. Wasn't a huge fan of them but I've seen them live and they were amazingly good live.
Great video to bake out and have a watch to as well.
EDIT: New Boards of Canada...
Been crazy busy lately but I wanted to swing by and drop off a few.
@Mockage: Def a nice post-rock thing going on there, good build and transitions.
@860: Yea I'm a "wee" bit addicted to Majestic (literally listened to every track on their channel) at the moment but I haven't posted that one.
@Stef: Dance, dance, dance.
@shiva: Pleas don't think I'm a hater but I've always thought TDG was pretty wacksauce, no offense.
@Sauron: I actually got to see DCFC open for Pearl Jam in Kissimmee, FL several years back. Their sound has really changed for the better over the years in a good way.
@Harley: Freakin love BTSTU, def looking forward to hearing more form him in the future.
@Pat: Def makes me think of riding on a mall elevator in the 80's. Love it.
@Pink: Haven't heard anything new by Boards in ages thanks for dropping that off.
Love this Sam Cooke cover.
Lots of great arrangements and harmony on this one.
Time & Space.
Aaaand, here's one more - but it's not hosted on youtube. But enjoy! https://vimeo.com/35090360
@Paddywack: Thanks for sharing some really great new Hip Hop in there. Nice to see people out there reppin' some credible lyrics again. Aiden Moore was right on.
Break into the day with this one.
Classic, soulful vibe.
Good thoughts & prayers going out to Sister Lauryn at this time. Stay strong, maintain.
I don't have anything quite so revolutionary, but I've just fallen head over heels with this remix of an 80's staple.
Two names I've seen mentioned when it comes to the GTA V OST - M83 and College
Glad we got some Lauryn Hill fans. No doubt she can MC, prefer it when she sings though. Such an amazing voice.
Gonna spam this thread with my stuff too.
So here are some of the tracks off my latest EP Artificial Creativity
Check out rest of the EP on my YT channel, BandCamp page, or on my SoundCloud.
Thank you for your time.
@Gig: Def feelin' Mr. Banks if you like him you should def check out
@JO X: College was something new for me, feels very cool and Kavinsky.
@Harley: I listened to King Krule on another track prior to this one you posted and he has this really weird way of talking and enunciating that I really enjoy for some reason.
@Ats: You get better and better with each new cycle my friend. Thanks for always sharing your progression here. I think a few more interesting samples dropped in the right places would really compliment your work.
We used this on our first GTAN Podcast. Feels like a perfect track to start the day with.
This on the other hand feels like the perfect groove to end your day with.
Reflecting back on how things unfolded...
I haven't posted here in a long time. Here's some jams for you guys.
