WTFX
Got around 5 fps increase in benchmark. Yet to thoroughly test, but so far, i'm seeing some improvement even in-game. All hail to the leaker! So far only leaked only for Vista & 7. The package has both x86 & x64. (not avail separately & huge 'cos of multilang, as always with previews) DL: http://www.sendspace.com/file/2k07wf http://www.mediafire.com/?mlzyynwzirn http://www.multiupload.com/4G8Y9OQ78P Source & Links from http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=315901 ******************************* UPDATE: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtop...st&p=1059831058 Edited March 19, 2010 by Fuc|<'d
B5S4
Sucks that it's 124mb, that's really huge. D: I think I'll check it out, would love to see at least a small FPS increase. Hopefully it's legit. Edited February 19, 2010 by B5S4
WTFX
it's legit, but preview as previously noted. that's also why it's huge 'cos it has both x86 & x64 + all languages in the same exe. also included is the profiles app for crossfire users. (pretty useless for IV probably, but well, guess u guys play other games too? ) edit: also, these drivers support mobility cards too w/o the need to mod. Sorry to give it in one huge package, but it's the untouched press release. Didn't want to edit the original package. The big mouse cursor bug is fixed apparently. I didn't see anyone with this set having the issue.
WTFX
yea it's amazing the first time the drivers actually do something they're ignored. or maybe ppl are afraid of preview drivers. anyway, best drivers for me since like.. idk.. 9.1? not saying that it fixes z-fighting or anything tho (that issue isn't very apparent on my rig).. but performance-wise. especially HD5xxx owners should have massive gains. thx for the input. Ti3noU
To be honest, if clean installed, this driver is very stable and offers performance gains in almost everything for HD5xxx users and many mobility radeons users (even mobility 3000 and 4000 series). Big improvements in OpenGL too. truehighroller did you uninstallrd your previous driver first ? Is your CPU overclocked and @ what frequency ? And at last is your Windows 7 x86 or x64 ? Thanks

Thanks Come one man, really. Ok, I'll play along yes I uninstalled with the uninstall utility, then I rebooted. Then I used my Drive Cleaner.net and rebooted again. Then I went in to my roaming profile and deleted the the entry that my driver cleaner program leaves behind. Then I deleted the file that it leaves behind under local as well. Then I restarted again and then, I installed the new drivers. Satisfactory yes. My overclock is here. And in my signature too...The only thing that's changed is my video card since I last updated it and here... I fixed my signature so now it's current. Sorry for the signature, for some reasons it didn't appeared under chromium, but it works on Firefox. I have almost the same with little differences, [email protected], 2x2Gb Reapers @ 1200mhz on UD3P, and 5870 @ 1040/5200. I'm using the integrated audio though. Under win7 x64. The same with a bit higher frequencies and no dedicated audio card, and I have ~8fps more in the benchmark than with 10.2 WHQL. Don't know what to say. Driver Cleaner/Driver Sweeper broke more things for me and my clients under Seven than fix anything. The classic procedure of uninstalling with the AMD utility, then uninstall/delete residual driver in the device manager seems the better choice for ATI owners under Windows 7. Registry cleaners are just useless in the procedure. If you don't see any improvement, something goes wrong. PS: I hope I'm clear enough, my english isn't so good. No Blue screens or nothing funky like that so as far as I'm concerned I'm good... All my games work with out a hitch.. Edit: I think that you are thinking to deep in to this pone and it's as simple as the fact that I had 10.2 and have a 5870 which thos drivers were more driven towards. Or in other words, nothing has changed for my video card on this one is what it comes down to I believe or, it might be that they just changed the way things are managed in memory and so while my FPS haven't really increased everything will just be more smooth or stable FPS wise.. Get what I'm saying here. I think there is no issue here really is what it comes down to. Edited February 25, 2010 by truehighroller

WTFX
further update! official preview from amd this time, 10.3a.. heard only positive comments about IV performance (many ppl reported increases) on these altho i haven't been able to try these out yet.. http://sites.amd.com/us/underground/tips/P...-3-preview.aspx notes: This ATI Catalyst™ driver update will unlock new performance improvements on top of the already previewed features in the initial Catalyst™ 10.3 Preview driver we sampled you in February. This driver will be available to download on March 17th from undgerground.amd.com and it will be called "Catalyst 10.3a Preview". On March 24th we will post the official Catalyst™ 10.3 WHQL certified on amd.com. The difference between the two is that Catalyst™ 10.3a Preview will contain future Eyefinty 6 updates and an Alien vs. Predator optimization which the Catalyst™ 10.3 WHQL posting does not have. in conclusion they are just like WHQL with some extra and are already available, w00t! and yes AvP optimizations for u Voodooman.. Either way, downloading them now. @metafox, you have a ATI chip set, Catalyst should work, my girlfriend has ATI chip set on her laptop and catalyst works fine. None reported in GTA4 (also keep in mind a lot of people were using 10.3a already which are slightly newer than the officials released 2 days ago). However there were significant improvements across the board for 4*** and 5*** series cards in some newer games such as Stalker CoP and Metro 2033 to name a few, that is if you were going to 10.3a or 10.3 from 10.2 or older.
