I was looking at some topics about locations in GTA 5 and i was thinking... 'What if the next GTA took place in the good old USA {in a fictional way though...}? Here's how I think it would be like...

-destruction is more detailed, but not complete.

-fires can spread like in SA, but lasts longer and passing pedestrians can catch fire.

-you'll play as Devon "DJ" Jones, a Grove Street member who gets involved with the wrong people and must fight for his life.

-while running, you can slide over car hoods.

-you can climb ladders like in GTA IV.

-the cell-phone is a big part of the game and now resembles an iPhone.

-vehicles from GTA IV and some from GTA SA return, as well as some new vehicles.

-Ammu-Nation returns.

-weapon options are bigger in this GTA.

-with the machete, knife, and chainsaw, you're able to decapitate people and cut off limbs.

-rampages are back; bigger and better than ever.

-weapons and vehicles are customizeable (but not like CoD MW2).

-clothes, hairstyles, and tattoos are changeable and editable.

-the player's able to edit the character's physical appearance.

 

 

Plot

 

Introduction

After partying at a nightclub, Antwon, DJ, and Ricky head to the gas station for some beer. Then, Big Al meets up with them and offers "a deal they can't refuse." Just as they were talking business, a thug who works with the Mussoletis jumped out of a black Mule with an Uzi and starts shooting at them. 3 bullets hit Antwon in the chest, killing him. The thug then hops back inside the Mule and leaves the scene. A dead Antwon ends up in DJ's arms. The scene ends at Antwon's funeral when DJ is staring at his brother's coffin with a tear going down his face.

 

Story

At the Los Santos International Airport, DJ just got back from Las Venturas with no cash, all spent on gambling, and running from the Sorentinos. Ricky arrives to pick up DJ in his rusty Sabre and takes them to their house. On the way there, they get mugged by a random thug at gunpoint. Now with no money at all, Ricky has to go to the bank to get some money. On the way, they run into some Ballas, who says "Big Purple is coming for you muthaf*ckas!" and a fight ensues. After defeating the Ballas, DJ and Ricky reach the bank. When Ricky activates his account in an ATM, it say he only has $1,400. Ricky snaps, insisting he had $500,000 in there. DJ tells him to calm down, saying that they'll make the money and then they head home. Ricky askes DJ if he wants to smoke a joint and he says, "No, thanks. I'm just gonna check out the hood for a little bit; see how sh*t is going down." DJ then leaves the house. After getting home, DJ realizes that Ricky had just lost his job at Cluckin' Bell. So they start job searching with little success. Finally, they find a job at a car wash. DJ then saw Stryker, who is looking to buy some crack and gets jumped by random thugs. DJ helps Stryker up and he hells DJ what happened after he left. Unemployed, Stryker is under a lot of debt and went to loan sharks who he owes money to. DJ offered to help out by killing the loan sharks, kick Stryker's drug addiction, and earn some money used to pay all of his debt and open an auto-shop. DJ receives a text from Ricky, saying "DJ. Come back 2 tha house ASAP!" DJ is introduced to Ricky's friend Varrios member Carlos Fernando, who has some important information. Ballas member Mugga is waiting at a Burger Shot in Idlewood for some Vagos members to discuss business. DJ, Ricky, and Carlos head for an illegal weapons dealer to get strapped. They then head for the Burger Shot for a series of drive-by shootings. Mugga manages to run away with a bullet wound on his arm and DJ chasing him. DJ manages to shoot Mugga down and flee the scene with Ricky and Carlos.

Main Characters

 

-Devon "DJ" Jones

Race: African-American/Caucasian Mix

Age: 25

Notes: The main protagonist of the story. DJ and his cousin, Ricky J, are well known members of the Grove Street family since the age of nine. He had a older brother named Antwon, who's also a member of Grove Street until he was killed in a organized drive-by. After that, DJ left Los Santos. He went to Las Venturas to get a part-time job and gambled his money away. A year later, he went back to Los Santos after receving death threats from Mafia casino owners. Ricky's past troubles return that takes them on a rocky journey full of twists. While Ricky was laidback, DJ was a serious dude who doesn't play around. Everytime Ricky gets in trouble, DJ always have to save him. Unlike Ricky, DJ doesn't smoke weed; he doesn't even touch the stuff.

 

-Richard "Ricky" Jones

Race: African-American

Age: 25

Notes: DJ's cousin. Ricky is a stereotypical fun dude who doesn't take a lot of things seriously, which gets him in a lot of trouble.Whenever he's in a tight situation, it was up to DJ to get him out. Ricky used to deal pot at age 9. He smoked his first joint at age 11, and ever since then, he's been obsessed with weed and has marijuana memorabilia in his house, even wearing a shirt with a pot leaf on the front. He's slightly taller and skinnier than DJ and sports short dreadlocks. He still owes money to other pot dealers.

 

-Alfonso "Big Al" Porreni

Race: Italian-American

Age: 65

Notes: The main antagonist of the story. Alfonso Porreni, better known as Big Al, is an Italian criminal who had ties to the Mussoleti family. After betraying the Mussoletis and an attempted hit on him 40 years ago, he dissapeared and assumed a new identity as the leader of the San Andreas Mafia. Al decided to use DJ to wipe out anyone who's hunting him down. At some point, he tries to lure him and Ricky into a trap to kill them. After that, DJ and Ricky chases Al down throughout the whole country.

 

Major Characters

 

-Carlos Fernando

Race: Hispanic

Age: 25

Notes: Carlos is Ricky's childhood friend. He's a member of the Varrios, who has beef with the Vagos. Just like Ricky, Carlos is a weed smoker. Carlos is also a skater who always carries a skateboard around.

 

-Jerome "B-Down" Wilson

Race: African-American

Age: 26

Notes: B-Down is DJ and Ricky's best friend since 6th grade and the secondary antagonist in the story. He was a member of Grove Street until he later betrayed them for a large pay by Big Al. B-Down later became a cocaine kingpin with his own empire. His personality is similar to Big Smoke in GTA San Andreas and resembles Heavy D, but with darker skin.

 

Adam "Stryker" Reynolds

Race: Caucasian

Age: 26

Notes: Stryker is DJ's best friend and an auto-shop owner. He used to have a good business repairing cars until the FIB shut it down in a raid, because drugs were being sold there. Now unemployed and under a lot of unpaid debts, Stryker is losing his house, getting calls from loan sharks, and addicted to crack cocaine, causing him to be paranoid. During the time DJ's in Los Santos, he helps Stryker gain money, deal with loan sharks, and pay his dues. After that, Stryker opens a new auto-shop that you can access.

 

Tanisha Williams-Mendez

Race: Hispanic/African-American Mix

Age: 25

Notes: Tanisha is an upcoming singer and DJ's childhood friend. Both of them were born at the same time at the same hospital. They also have the same personality. But when she was 9, she and her mom moved to Atlantic City to help her music career. DJ was never the same after that. Now, she's on tour promoting her music. During that tour, she reunites with DJ and they caught up on old times. Constantly, DJ always tries to protect Tanisha from his enemies. She's light-skinned and has brown medium-length, curly hair.

 

William "Weedman" Jacobs

Race: Jamaican

Age: 28

Notes: Weedman is Ricky's pot dealer. His life revolves around marijuana, just like Ricky. He has a heavy Jamaican accent and is made fun of by Ricky because of that. For some strange reason, Weedman functions better when he's high, especially when it comes to flying aircraft.

 

David Brownstein

Race: Caucasian

Age: 54

Notes: David Brownstein is a corrupt attorney-at-law who kept an eye on DJ's record. He meets him in the deserts of San Andreas and threatened to get him thrown in prison unless he did some jobs for him. At some point while in Las Venturas, DJ and Ricky meets Brownstein after a heist and then they bot get shot from the back by B-Down. But then Brownstein gets shot two times by DJ.

 

Darryl "Big Purple" Stonne

Race: African-American

Age: 30

Notes: Big Purple is the current and ruthless leader of the Ballas. Purple's so ruthless, he actually killed the last Ballas leader to take his place. He's now strapping up to eliminate every gang that's opposed to the Ballas, especially Grove Street. His favorite weapons to use, though, is a machete and a golden Desert Eagle. He heavily resembles Wacka Flocka Flame, but has long braids instead of dreads.

Wanted Level

 

1 star (*)

The police will follow you everywhere you go, trying to arrest you. If you resist arrest or attack a cop, the wanted level goes up one.

 

2 stars (**)

The police will then use their nightsticks and tasers when you reach wanted level 2. Police barriers are set up to keep the citizens out of danger. Instead of following you, the police will chase you down.

 

3 stars (***)

The police are now authorized to use their Glock handguns and will start shooting at you. In a vehicle, the police will try to ram into you and run you off the road . A police helicopter will be sent to track you down with a WEAZEL news helicopter following it. Some of the citizens are out of the streets.

 

4 stars (****)

At this time, the police will use M3 shotguns and set up spike trips on the streets. Also, NOOSE will be deployed to arrest you. If you resist arrest, NOOSE will shoot you with their MP5s and Spaz-12s. Most citizens are out of the streets.

 

5 stars (*****)

Now, the authorities will try to kill you instead of trying to arrest you. Major roads are blocked and airports, harbors, bus, train, and taxi lines are shut down to prevent you from leaving the city or area you're in. NOOSE will now start using M110 snipers. The FIB will be called in with their P90s and M110 snipers to assist the authorities in killing you. NOOSE and the FIB will send over helicopters with a sniper and machine gunner. All of the citizens are out of the streets.

 

6 stars (******)

You are now the most dangerous man in America. NOOSE and the FIB now replace the police. The radio and TV turns to an emergency broadcast system, labeling you a terrorist. The National Guard will be sent over to your area in Barracks, tanks, attack helicopters, APCs, boats, and fighter jets if you're in the air. They will use M4 Carbines, Mac-10s, Spaz-12s, Remington M40s, Barrett M82 snipers, M32s, M249 SAWs, and Javelins. Unless you have cheats, it'll be impossible to stay alive.

i tried to do something like this, it was called GTA Vasquain (after Vasco Dagama, another famous explorer like Amerigo Vespucci, whom america is named after) and i used like 15 whole states, but i found that the project was too great of an undertaking and gave it up for one on a smaller scale....

I think ultimately the GTA series could be a slice of Americana culture, roadmap around a virtual USA, not every GTA will be a LC NYC replica, but something more along those lines as LC was revisioned as a tribute. I think the next one will be most along the lines of GTA SAN ANDREAS with the various change of scenes and music genre that tends to fit, bringing back country music radio, I really did enjoy that vibe with planes flying overheard out in the backlands of SanAn. Very peaceful.

It's possible in theory, but bear in mind that there's a limit to how much DLC and patches can be released for a game on Xbox 360 (PC games are not often burdened with such limitations, though). I'm not sure what the maximum is, but each individual episode cannot be over 2 GB (TLaD and BoGT were 2 GB each).

Actually, this wouldn't be possible for multiple reasons.

 

Not only is it true that you can only fit a limited amount of content onto a videogame for current-gen consoles before running out of space (and money -- these games don't just come out of thin air, you know), but it would take too long to develop for that it may as well end up as vaporware along the likes of Duke Nukem Forever. Not to mention that the story would be too long to keep the interest of the consumer given how much ground the developers at Rockstar would have to cover.

 

I personally can't see a GTA title being any larger than exploring an entire state. That being said, with the technology of current videogame consoles, Rockstar could essentially make another GTA title that covers an entire state, but it would be more than 4 or so times the size of San Andreas and take probably 3 years time to develop. And that's if the GTA title was a PlayStation 3 exclusive, which will never happen because Rockstar wouldn't dare lose their Xbox fanbase.
