Car mirrors reflections?

Is there any way to make the car side mirrors real time reflecting? You know something like this. ENB series makes car reflecting but only the mirrors not confused.gif

Or is there any mod like THIS?

Real time relflections on the side mirrors of cars would require each car to be modified because GTA san andreas doesnt use the side mirrors for any special purpose its just a part of the main chassis.

 

Real time reflections also dont exist in SA and adding reflection effects only not actual reflections to the side mirrors would only be possible with ENB and editing the mirror materials.

 

Nobody is particularly interested in this anyway because side mirrors where never a problem in the GTA series.

But it would be cool to drive with first person and the side mirrors would work... Like in real life.

I'm interested in it, and recently tried implementing it into Sagfx.

 

The problem with stuff like this, is the scene needs to be re-rendered from the new position and direction, if you want the mirror to look accurate. But the more times you render the scene, the slower the game gets. You could use the last rendered frame as a reflection image, but it wouldn't look right (Note: this is what Boris does for ENB).

 

I don't want to announce too much in advance, but the next version of sagfx will have a working rearview mirror (similar to this - as a HUD overlay, not blended into the vehicle material) if i can get it working right and not too slow.

 

 

And its possible in GTA IV? That "reflections" in gta iv sucks

People tend not to like IVs reflections, because the method R* used creates warping and pixelization at the reflection edges. On the other hand, most of the cars you see in the world have real, accurate reflections, for each vehicle. Doing that and maintaining a decent frame rate is harder than you think.

I was thinking it would be fairly simple and straightforward to "trick" a reflective surface by creating an auxiliary camera and using it to render to a texture... maybe not a accurate as doing all that wild box-lagging geometry, but...

Deji the mirrors in interiors work the same as what dexx just said. It renders the entire scene so its like running GTA twice. They are done using CULL and for a way to add a moving cull that was constantly moving with the vehicle just seems unlikely but what Dexx was saying about rear view mirror would most certainly be a higher possibility especially if it was on the Hud not ON the actual vehicle as Idash would want.

 

Idash you cant really compare two different games, some games are optimized for whatever features they have while sa is more like a bandaid approach at best.

Pretty much. In most cases, i just render directly to my own RwCamera, and use the texture wherever i want. I don't use the SA mirror system at all (and a "mobile cull zone" would probably be buggier than what i'm doing now). I have enough of Renderware doc'd in my idb, that custom rendering (mirrors, reflections, shadows, etc) is almost trivial. The major challenge left is sorting and rendering objects by class, which i still need to work on.

 

The process could be sped up by eliminating some of the more complex lighting equations while doing the mirror/reflection passes. But yea, kinda getting off topic. Hmm...almost wish i hadn't closed the sagfx topic tounge.gif

First of all, stop writing in CAPS. It makes you sound like a moron.

 

Second, don't double-post. Use the EDIT button on the top-right of your post.

 

Third, the reflections you see in the "mirror" in interiors are actually the same interior but reversed on the other side of the wall. The characters are also simulated on the other side of the interior to give you the impression that there is actually a reflection in the mirror.

ok i have a idea

we have the Dexx Tool to make neons on a car

but to do it we have to export the car with RW Analyze confused.gif

but RW Analyze open the code of the car colgate.gif

i think we can write mirror reflection with RW Analyze

but we need a 3ds max tool sad.gif

i think its possible

we must to copy the settings and all that stuff of the map model mirror need dozingoff.gif
