dj jazzy death
Have you guys noticed there realisticly there is no point for Star Junction. I mean consider where it is, You have to turn on one of the streets to get there. I understand why there is a Times Square (Broadway is actually an important street) but Star Junction u have to go out of your way to go there. Im not starting any fights or nothing just felt this had to be said. And if i posted this in the wrong area or am not allowed to post this kind of topic sorry my bad and by all means you can lock it. GrandMaster Smith
I never thought that.. star junctions right smack in the middle of ..algonquin(?)-the middle island.. i always get all them confused.. but not really much a pain to get to or anything and at nighttime i think it looks amazing with all the lights and people wandering and cars driving all about, then if its a thunderstorm going on i think it all just ties in beautifully graphics and processing-wise. I think they shoudlve expanded it just a little bit though as to me it felt a bit small for it todo the real times square some justice. mubd
I hate the fact that Star Junctions' two north-south roads both are one way southbound. The real times square has the two intersecting roads go in the opposite directions. The real times square has the two intersecting roads go in the opposite directions. I would probably say they were originally going to make it that way, but The NPC's prolly had a hard time driving that way at the junction, I could imagine a figure 8 kind of thing going on right in the intersection causing big wrecks/backups. Iam probably wrong, but thats just my theory. theGANNER
For Single Player: Drive there at night and while its raining. Combine that with the first person view and a big hd tv and you dont need any other streets. The reflecting lights on the streets and on your cars hood look amazing. As for Multiplayer: It seems like the second most visited area is Star Junction. Deathmatches, Races and Freemode. You can mess around pretty good. Air versus ground, shootouts, sniper, drag races, subways, busses, alleys and so on. Everytime I check there is something going on. Looks like a good point to me. dj jazzy death
I dont mean that its a pain to get to but realisticly lets say there was no NYC Star Junction is really a waste of time unless they would expand Burlesque to Frankfort going all the way to Columbus Ave. that would be more realistic. dj jazzy death
Liberty City = New York.Star Junction = Times Square /thread. I know that but asides from that Star Junction is still serving no purpose traffic wise, but whatever still better than having no Times Square. SilentSeas
Its an iconic location, it gives the player a sense of familiarity, even if they're never been to Times Square. Thats its purpose. Lord_Ant_Warrior
Yehh i think there should have been more of a point with times square. Something that makes a player WANT to go there The lack of interiors and anything to do in general besides admire the realism and graphics is very prevalant in Vanilla. Star junction looks awesome, yes, but would it have killed them to add a few interiors and a minigame or two to flesh it out? FullMetal
To be honest I'm glad most roads and 'highways' make more sense. In III/Vice and San Andreas most roads didn't make any f*cking sense at all. Though there are still inaccuracies (as you mentioned) it makes alot more sense now. Snake Without a Tongue
GTA has always plotted itself wrong. I remember playing Vice City and thinking Ooo, I can't wait to have a mission in this or that spot and then nothing ever happens there. Yep Broadway and 7th Ave from 47th st to 42nd st (Where times square is) is closed off to vehicles and is only used by pedestrians. fertile01
the only thing I don't like about star junction is that its a one way street. It screws up my waypoint that I am some-what dependent on.
