WHY CANT I USE MY PEDALS???

 

Take2 sayz GTAIII dusnt support analog signals like the axes of a game controller, so u only have the default settings for the axes.

So when i use my throttle control on my wingman rumblepad, it turn him until its back in the middle position! using the left joystick makes move forward and strafe, using the right joystick makes him look up and down...

WHY CANT I LOOK AROUND PROPERLY WITH MY RIGHT JOYSTICK???

The same S|-|IT is with my microsoft fore feedback wheel: i cant accelerate/brake, only steer!

great! am i to use my left hand on the buttons W and S and have my right hand on the steering wheel???

WHY THE |-|ELL IS THERE NO MULTIPLAYER???

 

Imagine driving ur cheetah with an uzi in ur right hand shooting that motherf|_|cker with the rocketlauncher, who is trying to cross the road!!! what a pitty he got a head shot by that sniper on the roof before u could frag him!!! Some guys even found some codes on the ps2-dvd about trying to integrate a multiplayer-part. Why didnt ROCKSTAR finish their job???

 

 

WHERE IS THE LEVEL-EDITOR???

 

If games like morrowind (excellent game, i recomend it!, neverwinter nights and even the old unreal give their customers great toys like editors, why cant    through them on a 3rd cd? they must have had an editor to make liberty city, so why not make it a little easier for public use and publish it???

i have a voodoo3 and it freezez, but i can't use dx7 from your url because i have windows 2000, any other suggestions?

spend 35 bucks and get a new 64 bit radeon 7500 card, i had the same card you did, uless you really wanna f*ck with it and play gta3 on a card that dont support dx8, get a new one. fo sheezy my neezy. peace!

Now this seems rather strange but ...

 

I recently upgraded my graphics card from an nVidia GeForce 3 Ti 200 to an ATI Radeon 9700 Pro and GTA3 refuses to run. It just shows the Rockstar Games logo then closes.  

 

Then I tried the 1.1 patch at the Take 2 support site ... it's the same problem but no logo this time.

 

Is it just me or is the Radeon 9700 too new for this game?  

I did notice that the ATI Catalyst 2.2 drivers on the driver CD are newer than the ones on the website (2D Version: 6.13.10.6143 )

 

Here's the rest of the system:

 

1 gig Athlon (I know ... it bottlenecks my video card, but I'll upgrade later ... it's still faster than my ol' GF3 anyway )

512 MB SDRAM

16 gig 5400 rpm Harddrive

DVS-Korea x16 DVDROM drive

Creative Soundblaster Audigy

Windows XP

Hey, here's another problem that I am stumbling into.

 

You could file this under the loading problem 'list'.

 

In the first post of this thread, it says to go to Gamecopyworld to get rid of the Myth in GTA3..but nowhere under their GTA3 section did I see anything to get rid of Myth stuff (except for the movies)..

 

I believe this is the reason why I can't successfully use the 1.1 Patch. When I try to apply the patch, it says that I have an 'unknown version'. This obviously has something to do with the cracked version of GTA3 somehow..but I'm not sure how to fix it at all.

 

Is there anybody that knows how to get around this problem with the Myth version of the game? I really, really want to get the game going but..I can't if I can't save my progress..

 

Any good advice would be appreciated...

Can NE1 help me!  I had everything running fantastic on GTA 3 . Save games all working hardly NE lag. then one fatal day i tried to uninstall the game.  

The long and short of this note is that i now have no GTA files on my computer but the installation disk is saying there is meaning  I cant install GTA ever again. IT JUST WONT LET ME.it keeps telling me it has uninstalled the game but then when setup.exe is hit it just keeps saying 'would u like to un-install'   NNNNNNNNOOOOOOO! I'd like to install.

Please someone help me. The other day i was on top of the world now im a shmuck who cant play GTA3.

u should download regcleaner(or search gta3 in regedit) and delete everything of gta3 , you should need to be able to install the game again

I installed the V1.1 patch, then ran the game. It loaded, then after the first video, which I skipped, I got this -

"Unhandled Exception: c0000005

i get the same thing but its when i try to start playin from a saved game Chom gave me but id also get the "unhandled exception" error like Rohan...

Myn freezes at the intro after you click a new game. Even when i skipped that it froze before i could get in the car.

AH!.. ok, i finally upgraded my computer and i bought gta 3, my specs are:

 

1.2ghz amd

512mb ram

ASUS V8170DDR GeForce 4 MX 440 Graphics Card

40 gig hd

sb live sound card

 

it gets past the loading screen, but when i try to start a new game, it locks up, every once in a while the music contines to play to a frozen screen, why does this happen? please help me, it is very frustrating, don't tell me i paid 50 bucks for a gta3 coaster/case/poster, thanx

I have all that by default and my game is still jumpy after about 10mins of gameplay, after which I have to reboot to make the game worth playing. I tried turning the music all the way down, lowest res setting possible, and the game still gets extremely jumpy after about 10 mins of gameplay.

64mb geforce2 mx

50gb harddrive

 

I am about to install the 1.1 patch and copy sh*t over onto my harddrive from the play cd and see how that does. I'll let people know what happens. Very unhappy paying 50$ for a game I must tweak so much just to play w/o rebooting every 10 mins...

Very comprehensive post. However, i followed the advice below to no avail.

3.Install the 28.32 drivers. It seems that gta3 will load only with these drivers sometimes."

 

I went throught the site mentioned in (1) but the myth fixed exe file was not there in the gta3 section. It doesn't appear to be anywhere on the site

 

I've downloaded official patch 1.1, but it says it can't identify the version of gta3.exe on my comp, hence it can't patch it

 

3. i don't know where the 28.32 drivers are or where to get them.

 

any help would be much appreciated.

I got a Steering Wheel and Pedals... but the Pedals DON'T WORK WHEN IN THE CAR!!!!!!!!  

On FOOT they move me... but in a CAR they DON'T WORK!!!

This STINKS!  any Ideas guys?

 

I TRIED to bind the pedals in the Controls menu.. But it's not accepting a pedal push as a key/button.

I think the patch isn't working because you don't have the orginal gta3.exe anymore.  Since you tried the myth fix, it's now gone (unless you backed it up like a good boy!.

 

So replace it or reinstall.

 

the 28.32 is the driver for Nvidia video cards.  I'm currently using 29.42.  But not all is well for me, I'm going to try the 28.32 myself to see if it makes a difference.  Performance is pretty good, it looks great (1024x728 32 w/ anistropic filtering).  But when I turn the settings to bare minimum, it doesn't run much better.

 

Go here for the 28.32 driver (I assume you have Win XP).

Well, guys, didn't post here for a long time, but i have given up on helping, since problems keep coming, and this forums is f*cked up, since it's unmoderated. I advice everyone to wait for Vice city or not buy gta3/bring it back, since the chances that it will run properly are too small. I mainly came back here, cuz there seemed to be broken links. I'll look em up again, and update the list. Later.

Can anyone tellhow to solve my problem with traveling betwwen islands. I can load saved games in all three islands but if I drive to a different island the  game freezes every time.

So after checking 60,000,000,000 forums, posts and topics, i come across the answer to my problems, how to fix the freeze at character screens.

 

apparently, i can get to the sounds and audio in xp, then audio

then i dun get the rest of the instruction something about game compatible on the first peek down menu, if anyone has this problem, try to state it more universally and clearly if possible.

Anyone out there know if it is possible to download the savegame patch to my 3 1/2" floppy drive on my Win XP computer then transfer the file to another computer with win ME? I need to get the savegame patch into my GTA3 folder on my Windows ME computer, but when I try the above approach, the files don't seem compatable. And my other computer does not have internet access, which is a bummer. I am getting a bit frustrated, so if anyone can help, that would be appreciated. hope this makes sense.

Gta no longer hs unhandled exeption thing in the game but when ever i load(once i got rid of patch and reinstalled)

 

Also Tribes 2 had the sme unhandled exeption problem, i dont know if they fixed it but that could help work it out for Gta.

My god, My god.... My god....

 

I used to have the every 10 minutes stall and crash, I spent hours last night doing everything people said would fix it and now the game wont even start up, It goes straight to a black screen in which I can do nothing from there... not even close it done manually.. just manually shut down my computer... wow, this game will be the death of me, massive stressness.

 

ps- I remember an exact situation exactly like this with C&C Revenge, mass people had so many problems and the games solution was to shut down the technical support forum.. I hope the game just doesnt decide the get rid of the problem by getting rid of us.

Dudes, after looking into it, getting fed up on waiting on someone else, and receiving bum advice, I decided to look into the problem myself. I think I have a fix for you guys as well. Bascially, after running GLSetup, all the drivers are put into the GLSetup folder. GLSetup then installs the files, to be read by your specific card. One of the files installed (*OPENGL32.DLL*) is key. That is the file you want. Most likely in C:\Windows\System, you need to copy that file, and place it into the GameData folder, which is most likely C:\Dynamix\Tribes2\GameData. Anyway, after the file has been pasted, move the existing DLL (*OPENGL2D3d.DLL*) out of that folder. Simply rename OPENGL32.DLL to OPENGL2D3D.DLL, and you should be set. I have personally done this, and it works great, and I got some of my buds to try it too. Hope this solves any confusion... "
