mkey82
High/med specs? No. 9400 is not a gaming card and 3GB RAM is low for GTAIV. Lower the draw distance and shadow density. cacarla
who told you that 9400 gt not gaming card? Nobody told him that it's a not a gaming card, it's outdated in today's terms. Also, by lowering the settings, mkey means that set the details at minimum. 1 or 2 it's your choice. Try using the commandlines. cacarla
Yes 4GB RAM will help but make sure your OS utilizes all of that. The command lines are in this topic; http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=404147. Use the command lines that suit your system. 512 MB cards have different command lines compared to 1GB cards. So, use it properly. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/439832-gta-iv-lag-help-me/#findComment-1059763474 Share on other sites

mkey82
It's hard if not impossible to say. RAM will mostly influence lag and stuttering not FPS directly. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/439832-gta-iv-lag-help-me/#findComment-1059765824 Share on other sites
David.
Nope,I have 4gb ram and nearly the same setup as your and I get around 19 fps with latest drivers and patch. And yes, stutters and lags come in after 5 minutes,so a better video card is the solution. I'm currently waiting for GT300(or GF100) to release.Funny how I can't find any benchmark for them. MasterofNAVY
XP SP3 is too outdated to run IV. It can run Vice City, III, or San Andreas. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/439832-gta-iv-lag-help-me/#findComment-1067732803 Share on other sites
