Win 7, low FPS... normal?

Hiho,

i have a strange problem. Maybe it's normal but it seems very strange to me. My PC:

AMD Phenom II 955 @ 3,8 GhZ

Nvidia GTX 285 with 2GB Vram

8GB DDR2 Ram

 

On highest settings i get maximum 40 fps. When i get near the water they drop to ca. 25. Most of the time they are ca 30.

 

Is this normal?? Or is it a problem with Win 7?

its not win 7. your computer should run it a bit smoother though. i know ddr3 makes some difference and you are using ddr2. otherwise you should get 45- 60 fps steady except a few areas.
