I totally agree, i had a ps3 before with gta iv on it, it was free to play online, i had fun, then when i got the idea that i wanted to play TBOGT , i traded my wii to an xbox 360 Elite ( GOOD DEAL ! ) biggrin.gif i was happy though, i buyed EFLC when i got my elite, later on i played and there was a 2 days trial to play online on, i played online for 2 days, fun, then it started to be boring, i completed TBOGT, boring, now theres nothing to do BTW my dad said that i should give my ps3 to my brother since he said i cant have 2 ... WEIRD OFC I CAN !

And now its coming to ps3, MAAAN ! i spent alot of time in getting an xbox elite, when i got it, rockstar says its coming to ps3. Stupid R*

Smithy, all I can say is "you live and you learn".

There was a thread on this site where someone was wondering if they should buy a 360 just for this game. Long story short, unless there were a few more games that you liked outside of EFLC, it wasn't smart to buy an X360 just for this game. Now if you bought the game and played it on a friend's X360, that's fine (at least to me), but to shell out that much money for one system, only to throw away another system (a system you probably enjoyed playing) for ONE game is just not right.

Only advice I'll say to you is when something like this comes around, don't be so quick to judge, and (at times) don't believe everything you hear.

There are games that are exclusively made for certain consoles, so there, I could understand that you buy an specific console to play such games. But then there are games that are multi platform, even tho some of them start as "exclusively" for X platform; you do know (unless you are 10 years old) that games such GTA, sooner or later will be on every platform (not talking about those PSP-NDS ones). So patience is the key. Obviously companies such as Rockstar relies (these days) on anxious kids who will buy (actually cry their parents) a new console just to play the game; and there is where more money they get, because the console maker pays big bucks to have the game for their own for a period of time. But the game maker knows that when that period ends, they will make more money taking the game to the other platforms.

I stopped coming to these forums long ago, just waiting for the Rockstar email telling me "there, your patience is rewarded, you have your DLC". I know now exactly when I can buy the DLC, but I knew that coming here I would have some fun reading posts like these wink.gif

Good thing that I didnt buy xbox, but I wanted because of EFLC.

Me too DimitriRUS...I was almost the one writing this bloody thread!

I'll 3rd that ^^ I'm SO glad my parents taught me to be patient.

And I might as well say if you REALLY thought it would never come to PS3 and PC you're an idiot. Grand Theft Auto is one o the BIGGEST money making names in video game history... Sure M$$ paid them 50 mill, but you think R* is going to miss out on all that money from PS3 and PC gamers??? Hell no. R* Doesn't know the meaning of exclusive.

Hooray for patience!!

NO "WHY DIDNT U WAIT" OR SMART COMMENTS LIKE THAT PLEASE  biggrin.gif

Well you got one part right...that is a smart comment. Any idiot that's willing to spend so much money instead of being a little patient deserves no sympathy.

If one thing can be sure, it's that R* eventually will expand the market of it's games. Console owners were flaming left and right that IV was never gonna make it to PC and, well, we all know how that turned out. GTAIII was exclusive to PS2...then was released for PC...then was released for xbox. Seriously! If a game as massive as and of the GTAs is announced as exclusive you can bet your a** it won't be forever unless it's developed or published by a first party (like Halo and Microsoft, or Killzone and Sony).

$50,000,000 is nothing when you consider that IV made over half-a-billion dollars in the first 24 hours alone.

That is kinda funny, actually...the most I ever considered was borrowing my cousin's Xbox and renting EFLC monocle.gif

Wait. This is Rockstars fault because???

Because the OP didn't think ahead and needs someone other than himself to blame. ph34r.gif

It's your own fault. Now you're stuck with a system that has no good exclusives.

Really? I thought Left 4 Dead looks pretty cool.

What the? L4D isn't X360 exclusive in any way. Also Valve cares about PC versions more. See TF2.

What about Mass Effect 2? That looks pretty amazing if you ask me...and I'm a PS3 owner.

Not a X360 exclusive either dozingoff.gif

i wasnt i was just asking for peoples views which is what these forums are for

when did you get your ps3?

i had the decision. it was early 2008 and already read that the xbox360 will get two additional games. back in the day i didn't care for them, just thought about some extra missions. i couldn't imagine there would be some loose ends/plot holes.

i bought a ps3 because i'm familiar with playstation 1 & 2, it included a game and a blu-ray-player. i played gta 4 on the xbox 360 at a friend's. i noticed i prefer the playstation controller, even though i would get used to it.

so when tlad was about to released i felt kind of pissed. but it was my own fault. i can't be mad at rockstar.

now after all, we get eflc next month, and AGENT before the xbox360 users.

Wow....thats exactly what I did/thought back in 2008 - that's kinda spooky.

I had PSone and PS2 also so that was the major factor when deciding which console I should get - purely coz I was familiar with the control pad.

I also made the same mistake at the time in assuming the two X360 'DLCs' were just two extra missions or something like that - never expecting two full-blown games so I was pretty miffed too. I did wonder how I would ever play these games - especially coz of all the feedback from X360 owners saying how great these were and this made me covet them even more!

Then again, I wasn't exactly mad at RockStar (well, maybe a little...) but more upset with my own choice. But a tiny voice in my mind always told me 'it will come eventually' so I decided to accept my choice and be happy with it.

As it says on all those cans of Guinness in my fridge: "Good things come to those who wait!"

I got both the PS3 and the xbox360. I had brought the PS3 Special Edition on release day and since completed the storyline. I brought the xbox360 over a year ago and had no regrets. I ended up repurchasing the xbox360 version of GTAIV when TLAD came out and it automatically made my game match the international version. Since then I haven't barely touched the PS3 version (since its still cut), I also got the BOGT via DLC and still am having a great time playing through it. Still got my PS3 but now usually use it as a media server and for blu-ray movies as the xbox360 is more my gaming machine.

Exactly right. There are some very good games that are out solely for one console. The Halo series and Mass Effect games to name a few on the X360, and for the PS3, games such as Heavenly Sword and the Resistance series are just some examples. With GTA - which has always been a multi-platform game - there have been some games that have come out first on one console and then eventually on the others. GTA III is a perfect example of this and now of course 'Episodes'.

In regards to Agent, I honestly do not know if it will find its way to the X360 eventually or if it will - like Halo - remain exclusive. I don't care anyway if I'm honest. If it does however, then it just goes to show every developer out there that going multi-platform is the best way for them to make big money.

Then again, if every game was multi-platform then how would Sony/MicroSoft/Nintendo plug their products eh?

Well, just save up and get the PS3 back and then you have the best of both worlds, hell even get a used PS3. Then you can get the exclusive games for both. biggrin.gif

Case Closed. Court Dismissed.

Traded consoles for a DLC did ya? Well, at least now those that didn't can enjoy it on the PS3, PC, etc.

Just be glad you ended up with the better end of the deal.
