CiviCity
hello guys,so i bought gta 4 today and im only getting 15-16fps ._. Statistics Average FPS: 16.89 Duration: 37.13 sec CPU Usage: 47% System memory usage: 38% Video memory usage: 92% Graphics Settings Video Mode: 1280 x 720 (60 Hz) Texture Quality: Medium Texture Filter Quality: High View Distance: 35 Detail Distance: 35 Hardware Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Video Adapter: NVIDIA GeForce G210 Video Driver version: 191.07 Audio Adapter: Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio) Intel® Core2 Quad CPU Q8300 @ 2.50GHz --------------------------------------------------------------------------- just to get 16fps i had to lower by TONS my video mode and totally remove all the shadow. But my question is, why is my CPU usage so low?? I know this game is cpu based so why its only using 47%? What settings should i put so i can get something like 20-25fps? What commandline thing should i get? (if possible explain this aswell). Please i need your help,i would love to play the game with no lag and some nice graphics >< Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/439145-cpu-usage/ Share on other sites
BKwegoharder
Your gpu is incredibly weak. That's why, it is severely bottlenecking your cpu. That gpu is more comparable to one of Nvidias Geforce FX cards back in the day. It is in no way shape or form a card you are supposed to be gaming on. Try setting all of your settings to the lowest and see if it improves Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/439145-cpu-usage/#findComment-1059751783 Share on other sites
Jigglyass
Laptop, go to power options and select high performance profile because windows is restricting gta 4 from using more than 50% of the CPU, this will let GTA use more of the CPU, giving you a serious FPS boost. This is a common issue, GPU is still weak but this what ive said will give you a boost. Chevyboy
OP your settings are still cranked far too high for that card. Low/Low settings with sliders below 20 and shadows off, shadow density 0. Your GPU is about as far from a gaming card as you can get. Your CPU usage is low because your CPU is bottlenecked by your atrociously bad GPU, lower the settings as suggested above and you should find your CPU usage will increase slightly to match your increased FPS. Anything above low textures, low texture filter quality, and 20ish on the sliders is suicide for your setup. shadowpope17
Your CPU is low because it's getting bottlenecked by that graphics card. Minimize your settings completely and you will see a boost in performance!
