ionGeneral
Lol, Try playing all Low settings, defrag your Hard Drive and use AMD Fusion. My specs are: AMD Athlon 64 3200+ (Single Core) 2.01Ghz 1GB RAM NVIDIA GeForce 9800GT (1GB) + 8400GS (512MB) I have GTA IV on the lowest resolution, everything on MAXIMUM settings and still run the game smooth as f*ck. I don't know why it's different for you - you have better specs than what I do, so you should be able to run the game at maximum settings. mkey82
I really don't understand what gave you the impression you should max the game out. Disable CF, sometimes the game runs better if you disable it. viometrix
when going from an am2 processor to an am3, did you reflash your bios? it may not be needed, but look it up. i know some am2+/ am3 boards need a flash to handle the new processor properly. And yes i did have to flash the bios to 1604... i think i may dig around and flash the bios again.. to see if it gives the cpu a little boost Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/438779-bit-of-help-please/#findComment-1059746981 Share on other sites

James_Earl_Cash
Try reinstalling Windows, because clutter can really slow down your computer. It's good to have a fresh OS anyway If you don't wanna do that, get a defrag, antivirus, and antispyware program, and also use CCleaner on a regular basis. Forget the c*nts on this forum. They're pretty much all trolls. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/438779-bit-of-help-please/#findComment-1059750997 Share on other sites

That_Guy28
Try running CCleaner. You might have too many internet cookies. I have a crapy PC: 3GB RAM Intel Core2 Duo @2.6GHz ATI Radeon 3450 256MB I can run the game at either 1024x768 and all the other settings on low, 840x480 with all setings on low except textures (set to medium) or 840x480 with all settings set to low except detail distanse and draw distance and both of them are on about 25. I get about 25FPS. I KNOW I need to get a better video card but I don't feel like it because I would probably have to buy a new power supply too. Also, try turning on DEP for all programs. That will speed it up by about 5fps. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/438779-bit-of-help-please/#findComment-1059751100 Share on other sites

mkey82
Yeah, "I live here on to forums" just so I could enjoy the occasional petty fight with various sh*theads who can't keep track of their system and have basically no clue as to what they are doing, but do know how to troll. mortalhuman
Simple: If the identical computer runs it fine, and yours does not, you can get more answers from home than here: Simply compare your OS environment to his... WHatever is different on yours, is the problem. I'm sure if this is the case you're def not on the same version of windows as him, or don't have the same updates to your hardware drivers, or perhaps just have junk on your PC he doesn't use. If you see the proof of concept working, it usually means there is something wrong with your own implementation. Check there first, let us know what you find!
