Zargen
I get a C++ Runtime error. Code R6034. I get the error every time I try to start GTA. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling but - no luck. Where exactly in the game you experienced the issue (start screen, while playing the game, etc.) Before game launch What version of the game you have (retail, steam, other online store) Retail What is your OS Windows XP Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/438744-gta4-wont-start-r6034/ Share on other sites
mkey82
Try removing the VC++ runtime libraries from Add and remove applet in control panel and then reinstall it from the game disk. Zargen
Removed the Visual C++ 2005 file from the add/remove program and reinstalled from the disc. Still giving the same message. Is there any other potential fix? Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/438744-gta4-wont-start-r6034/#findComment-1059745609 Share on other sites
James_Earl_Cash
Reinstall XP? The game will run so smooth on a fresh install. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/438744-gta4-wont-start-r6034/#findComment-1059745611 Share on other sites

Zargen
Unfortunately I can't reinstall xp because I don't have my install disc Just tried removing, ccing, and reinstalling. Still the same problem. I've figured it's a problem with the social club. I tried installing the xliveless.dll thing somewhere else on this forum and the game worked fine. Problem is being I'd rather not start over from the beginning of the game. mkey82
You will need to move the savegames to the new directory xliveless created. Consult the readme. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/438744-gta4-wont-start-r6034/#findComment-1059746890 Share on other sites
