Nice but imo this really doesn't fit the game but still you guys put some effort on it happy.gif

Once they have the files hosted on the site just try it out. Again.. the fraps and youtube video quality makes the sounds have too much treble and not enough bass

I can appreciate how much effort you've put into this which i respect but you obviously haven't done your homework.

The companies do exactly what you did and record real gun sounds.

All you've really done is re record lower quality sound effects from probably incorrect weapons..

Well if that is what you think then i guess that youtube video is just not doing any good at all. That video makes the quality lower and it sounds more volumetric in game. And no.. many games to not record the real sounds.. many times they add effects to it to make it more "hollywoodish" Some people like that. However, I prefer just the plain gunsounds with no effects added. Just the raw gunsound. Once the files are available.. I would appreciate feedback for someone who has tried the mod in game as well.

First of all, of course it's going to sound lower quality on YouTube, it's a compressed video on the internet.

Second of all, what the Hell does, "Hollywoodish" mean? What else can they be doing, poppin' caps in the studio?

Hollywoodish.. its when they add effects to gunsoudns to give them more bass and a more meat pounding sound.. which isnt what they have in real life. I actually own many of the weapons in GTA IV and having fire them all.. I personally dont believe the gunsounds in GTA IV are as true to them. Therefore, I created this mod. ANd Sure.. some games such as Medal of honor recorded their weapons. however not all games do. Thats why the weapon sounds for COD MOH and brothers in arms.. all sound different.. even though they feautre the same weapons...because those weapons are not raw recordings. Anyhow its all about personal preference.

This is quite nice, but just from the video i can tell it's not 100% correct, since the shooting sounds are longer than you actual shoot the gun.

And as well those are not the best recordings, there are some background click, clack sound from anything else than the weapons.

I prefer the GTA IV weapon sounds, i guess to Rockstar Games edited the recorded weapon sounds, but i'm pretty sure they used professional technique to record them, just like the sound technic guys from the NFS Developer teams do it, while they record engine sounds and exhaust blasts etc...

Im sorry then. btw, good work

What gave you the assumption that this was stolen in the first place? sarcasm.gif

On-Topic:

It's not bad, I like it.

Hmm.. I just though its stolen and he explained. Then why you are jumping at our conversation LOL

They don't record anything, the gunsounds are made from scratch by Rockstar.

How do you know that Rockstar doens't record real gun sounds and edited them? notify.gif

I gave it a try and installed it and I have to admit that these sounds are really cool and that they are better than the original ones (and yes they sound better ingame than on youtube). But I think that the shotgun-sound is a little too quiet, but I think it is not too hard to change this, so I can do it myself. But the mod is really good work and I think its the best weapon-sound mod for GTA IV yet.

Thank you very much it was a pleasure releasing it

They sound good smile.gif But i haven't used guns before. So i don't have a reference. I only know how guns sound from games and movies, and those games/movies (Call of Duty) aren't really good references. tounge.gif But it sounds nice. Muchas better than the AK sounding like a micro-explosion. But they can be a bit louder. Or do i have to turn up the volume?

These sounds are f*cking awesome. However I must admit they aren't realistic much, because most of guns are just loud and gunfire sounds of them are more loud and annyoing than f*cking awesome and cool like in this pack. Great job.

They aren't realistic? OP recorded them. tounge.gif As close to reality you can get

You will never get the same sound by recording it, it can be very similar, but with professional tools, but it will never be the same.
