obvious, law saying no minors to be killed in games, and animal people like ASPCA would be at the game, and it would be banned quick.

You obviously don't know what you're talking about at all. Play Red Dead Redemption.

I would love to see horse mounted cops or dogs, birds, if you hit them with your car they fall over but you cant kill them. you can knock them around knock them over but nothing happens.

I like this idea

Yeah animals have been in games for quite a while. Horses could be killed in oblivon. I used to drag 'em into gates and then close the gate, their bodies would flap about like crazy tounge.gif The guards didn't find it as amusing though...

You can kill animals in RDR, I see no good reason for not being able to kill them in GTA.

Animals seem fine but I do not like the ideal of children in the game because that would probably turn gamers away from gta, I know it would me

So many humanitarian pussy ponyfags here. Grow the f*ck up. Animals were in Red Dead Redemption. They made the vast map seem not so empty. If you play Grand Theft Auto but you're a little scared of spilling some blood then shut the f*ck up and go play Mario Kart.

"Oh, i'd like them to be in the game but just make them invincible so we can hit them and stuff but they don't die they just fall over" What the f*ck is wrong with you people?

The first and last point should be that it's pure pixels. They aren't real, no matter what their cyber height, weight, age, nationality, ethnicity or race would be.

Rockstar said (I believe after the animals rumours in San Andreas got louder) that there will never be any animals in their games, not just not in the GTA Franchise. One year later, Bully [Canis Canem Edit] came out, including stray dogs. They were, unlike the sea life pixels in Vice City, hurtable. But Bully doesn't matter, because the statement was false the second it was made. Didn't III include unshootable birds, too? Anyway, VC had lots of transparent-texture-sea life. So did SA. RDR is obvious, the animals played as much of a role as the other peds did and were hurt- and killable. It seems their policy either has changed over time or simply wasn't all to clear in the beginning.

An animal is not worth less than a little human is not worth less than a big female human is not worth less than a big male human and so on. Of course I don't have different standards for video games. If I was to think it's okay shooting someone in a video game, then it wouldn't matter who it is or what they are. I wouldn't mind having these options in future GTA games because my moral code rates everybody the same and I wouldn't make use of these new "victims" anyway. But I'll also be the last one to yell for them, because I simply don't care.

PS: I'm an animal rights activist and have killed thousands of pixel animals in Red Dead Redemption and Postal. A game is a game, everybody draw your own lines.

I say that with GTA V, they should introduce animals, okay? Then, they should get the opinion of the public on whether to add children or not, because if the players don't like it, don't add it.

Next, the players would have to help Rockstar make a stand. I doubt they would add kids if they knew they would be all alone in their opinion.

animals yes! (were in arma2 too)

children no!

why? i already feel sorry for the poor people in gta4 who would get pulled brutally outta their cars and beaten up if i stole their vehicles right when they're sitting in them. thats why i only steal/take parked cars without any passengers in them.

running over a child with a car in gta5 and i would never forgive myself. no, thats what mobsters and cops are for, everyone that tries to attack you deserves such treatment. but the game including children as pedestrians is just no nice thought, games should have certain limits imo. just like there're thankfully no games that simulate rape or sexual assaults out there.

What were the collectible "packages" in IV and the Episodes? That's right, killable BIRDS, animals.

What was one of the hidden stats in Vice City? Oh yeah, "Seagulls sniped". And what are seagulls? Yep, BIRDS!

So what's this about animals in GTA?

Sincerely, since my last post on this thread, I changed some opinions about this. I wouldn't mind having them on game, for realism sake, but I don't miss them if they don't add.

It's up to the player make the protagonist act like a maniac, shooting at everything that moves in front of him (GTA3 good ol' times, playing while I was still underage, and didn't became a maniac when adult tounge.gif).

Mafia "1" had dogs, and I just killed the ones that attacked me. GTA4 taught me to be under control and kill only requested targets (maybe that realist physics stuff made killing so painful that it's only fun when you kill enemies, not random people suicidal.gif).

Probably if for some remote reason Rockstar decides to add both on GTA, missions won't involve killing of them (unless they're pigeons or seagulls) due to the nature of the game (it's a fictional-but-not-far-from-reality game taken on a present time, different from RDR).

I thought I'd bring this topic back alive.

Well, regarding to animals, I would love to see them. But children aren't too much into theory, like I said before, cutscenes, maybe. But as NPCs in the regular world is out of the question.

In the Metal Gear Solid games you can kill dogs (MGS1, MGS3 and MGS4) and in MGS2 you could kill seagulls - there was no controversy, heck in MGS1 there was a cute, non-threatening huskie puppy that you could kill, which I never did. To be honest I'd be uneasy with killing cats/dogs/horses/rabbits/etc. because I'm an animal lover, but if they were in a GTA game I could simply choose not to harm them.

As for children, it would make me very uneasy to have them there too. It would feel really, really wrong to be able to blast a little kids head off with a rifle and the controversy it would attract wouldn't be worth it. It would also be a bit tacky to have children walking around as peds but being being unable to touch them as they're not solid or whatever.

I think LA Noire pulled off children perfectly. Cutscenes and limited interaction within a nonhostile invironment to add to the story. Keep it that way R*

As for animals. I LOVED hunting in RDR and I don't see why we shouldn't bring them back. ESPECIALLY if we have countryside to work with. If its an all urban environment, add some birds, raccoons, squirrels, etc.

I'd only want children in the game if R* has the balls to make them killable. I don't want a bunch of immortals running around.

I'd like the ability to shoot a little girl's cat out of the tree like in police academy. (Tackleberry)

So as always a big YES to children & animals.

Someone had a nice idea...to put Justin Beaver in the game..sry Bieber, and then put him as a pedestrian. Then you can run him over or shoot or do whatever you want.

Children in a GTA game? LOL don't think so.

I highly think that they will be putting animals in the game like Red Dead Redemption.

Children: Never. A lot of developers and players are dads. Are they really sure they want to see children's dead bodies? No.

Animals: They worked out in RDR. So yes, I can't see why not.
