iLevi
So, I've bought GTA IV a couple of days ago on steam. I've made a rockstar account, I've made a GFWL account (but couldn't install the client; asked me to install a hotfix, the hotfix gave me an error, send a mail to microsoft about it), I've linked the accounts. Whenever I start up GTA IV via RSC, I can get as far as the part where it says "Grand theft auto IV" (after the license **** and the 2 rockstar logo's. After that, it just leaves me with a black screen. I sure have the specs for GTA IV (I'm running it on a macbook pro booted in windows XP SP3 x86.) 2,66ghz dual core Nvidia 9600M GT 4 gig ram What's the problem here? Is it because of the GFWL client not running? Thanks for the help! Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/437533-black-screen-on-startup/ Share on other sites

torsk
Hi, I have same problem. I found out using ALT+TAB that there is a small error message box appearing behind and asking something like : "this app is trying to access to private data". So, when you see R* orange + blue logo on screen, just press [ENTER] 2 or 3 times, so it will validate the message box and you will be able to play.
