Lonely-Martin
Yeah, seeing James Cameron and Linda Hamilton back does give me hope of a better show. Of course, need to see it. The Terminator is an epic and dark/moody film with a perfectly cast Arnie, And T2 for me personally is irreplaceable for it served as the coolest film ever for me as a kid, stayed right up there over the years of great action and sci-fi. But now my son can watch, and he has. a lot. Great father/son movie IMHO. It'd be near impossible for me to list my top 10 movies ever, but Terminator 2: Judgement Day is easily one I do know would be on that list. High up there too. As I said, irreplaceable for me. Not to say I didn't enjoy the follow ups in areas. Just that magic spark wasn't there. And to be fair, just couldn't buy into Batman Bale in Salvation or Sarah Clarke and Jai Courtney either in Genesis. (Didn't like him in Die Hard 5 either - Another franchise I feel slipped too - And I'd not miss her in Thrones either, lol). Guest Billy Russo
I really have no interest in this, I just can't get hyped for it. To me, Terminator hasn't been the same since Judgement Day. It feels like they're just milking the franchise dry at this point.

darthYENIK
I agree to an extent. That was what was great about the first two movies. Judgement Day was set. And you could revisit the story before then. After that, it’s just been retconning and revising so they can fit another world ending threat. Arrows to Athens

LazlowsucksiloveslutS
I don't think Terninator 5 should happen. Never should have Terninator 2.3,4 Terminator would have been a legendary movie without the seqiels. As soon as mr Sxhwartznegger attempted to br good guy in Terminator 2 I was like f*ck that. 6erminator legacy would have been better preserved if they had stuck with one film. Would have been sp much more legendary. Legendary in unspeakable proportions. I feel rhe same way aboutLethal Weapon. The original script had Mel Gibson and Danny sqy goodbye never to meet again and Mels character was badass like Chuck Norris and Steven Seagal, getting into barr fights and stuff. Lethal Weapon too could have been a legendary, memorable movie without sequels. Sequels just f*cked it up. Joe Pesci I lve in mafia films, lethal weapon cmon, yeah hes gre

Pesos
Terminator was Football. Terminator 2 was Basketball. Two very different beasts, so I get where people are coming from in that regard. Hell, I love both of the movies and I agree that Terminator shouldn't have gotten a sequel or at least T2 should have been something else. But money makes the world go round, so it is what is. darthYENIK
Terminator 2 is a goddamn action movie masterpiece. Probably the greatest. Nothing comes close in my opinion. I love when a sequel changes it up like that. So I really enjoy the dynamic of the first two movies. Sadly every movie since T2 just tries to be T2. This new one, maybe looks a bit smaller, and a bit less “epic”. HeavyDuke, Lonely-Martin, Rumblebud and 1 other

T2 Sara and Arnold where awesome, it felt organic, everything had a goal and no overflow of CGI. Only used when needed. Now we have worthless actors, playing worthless characters only to prove a point that men are outdated soyboys and can easly be demolished by feminist woman as long as they have short hair. They lost track of their goals with these movies which is to provide entertainment. For example if they would have done it smart, lets say they would have casted the current new terminator hero with Scarlett Johansson, a woman that looks FEMALE and is capable of showing emotions and expressions without looking like she's pushing out a turd. Have her be very nimble much like she is in her Black Widow role. And cast a MANLY male terminator such the likes as this guy and make him be nearly indestructable from an unknown type of material: Well the movie regardless of anything would go up from like a 3/10 to a 7/10. Big Molio
The Terminator is the only one in the entire franchise that I think is a sci-fi masterpiece. T2 was a great big event movie, and I remember being blown away by it at the time, but it doesn't have the same kind of pedigree as the first. The Terminator's script is like, ultra lean. There's not a scene in that film that doesn't move the plot on in some meaningful way, it's fantastic. The way it depicts Reese as like some grubby stalker, then it all switches up in Tech Noir. Awesome. The future scenes are terrifying too, with the great Franco Columbu (RIP) in that unforgettable scene as a similar infiltration unit who cleans out the resistance hideout. Lonely-Martin
^ Meh to reviews, lol. There's so many films out there with a 9% on Rotten Tomatoes or a 3.0 on IMDB or something equally critical out there that are easily on my all time best list. Not that I'm saying this is gonna be superb of course, ain't seen it yet. -------------------- Anyway, never thought it would, but I'm royally pissed off again at our BBFC restrictions here in the UK. I know some won't agree, but my 14 year old lad has seen all of the franchise and there's nothing that'd stop me letting him go tonight except some fat suit saying otherwise. I'm more frustrated than anticipated that he can't go, as I can't, lol. Give us parents a say will ya FFS! Mister Pink
I watched it last night. I really enjoyed it. But hey, I'm a guy with a Terminator avatar. Good things I liked about this film is that the narrative is much closely linked to Terminator 2 than any other film in terms of how the story is told, how the action flows etc. I thought Sarah Connor in this was brilliant. I didn't think I'd like the short-haired one but she's actually OK and we don't really get to know Dani but I suppose they're leaving it open to sequels. Arnolds, T-800 model's life was interesting and hilarious at the same time. I genuinely laughed at his moments and it didn't take away from the suspense. Some of CGI was grotesque at times and then other times, it was superb. Nothing grinds my gears more than, bad CGI mixed with unrealistic physics. You know when someone is jumping forward from a moving truck or car and they jump in the same direction the moving truck or car is going and it looks so bad. Anyway, I could ignore the odd bad slip up because it wasn't much to be honest. This film has flaws but for me it was the most enjoyable Terminator is a long time. They stripped the film back to it's core basics of what made the first 2 or 3 enjoyable. I didn't mind Salvation too much, but I was always chasing something closer to 2 and even the horror style elements of the original film. And the Rev 9 model is f*cking frightening and cool. Last night, I seen definitely one, maybe two kids about 11 or 12 there, with their parents. I thought it was up to the parent but I read on Cineworld website just now that you can't bring an under 15 to a film if it's 15. I would say try it out. They may or may not ask for ID. Other choice is buy tickets online and not sure how it is in your local but it's usually just some young person that checks tickets at one point of entry and there's a big chance they wont check. acmilano
Watched it and at the end, feel like even Genisys did better job. I recognised story elements and ideas not only from the previous five Terminator movies but also Alien 3, Universal Soldier and The Mummy 2017. Actors did not feel that enthusiastic, hell in one moment Arnie literally said "I won"t be back" like he even had enough of the franchise. Maybe it was a mistake to do time travel for the fourth time. Better option in my opinion would be if they continued with future war after Salvation(which was flawed but with some good ideas) and gave us Future War more like in T1 and T2 flashbacks. But we will see what filmmakers will do next. Edited October 29, 2019 by acmilano
Pesos
Finally got around to seeing Dark Fate and managed to go in blind... but now I'm regretting not reading reviews prior because that's 2 hours 8 minutes I'll never get back. Mackenzie Davis was the only real highlight in an otherwise mediocre-to-bad experience.
Aquamaniac
Any opinions about the TV series? I really loved it except a few episodes in the 2nd season.
Lonely-Martin
Finally got to see Dark Fate, I liked it quite a lot too. It's no classic like the first 2 movies are for me and it has its flaws, I'd have liked the opening scenes to have been longer and a bit heavier/involved as it felt a bit brushed over. But after that, the movie rolled along nicely and had some cool action scenes. I thought Arnie was much better used than as 'pops' and Linda Hamilton was good too. The new cast members are fine and I thought the bad guy was well made, quite enjoyed the Mexican feel to it all too. I liked that the movie was a bit more adult with its content but without going over the top like what I felt Predator did more recently, it felt more forced in that flick, here more natural. Good film, 8/10. Shame it got battered really. On 2/16/2020 at 10:25 AM, Aquamaniac said: Any opinions about the TV series? I really loved it except a few episodes in the 2nd season. I remember it started well and did mean to continue, and I do like Lena Heady as an actress often too, so hopefully I'll enjoy this and shall pop back one day soon with more.
