Audio disappearing

I'm having a problem with my SA, the in-game sound dissapears, except rain noise and radio, most times when it's raining, and sometimes it happens randomly in dry weather

and when there are multiple sounds at one (heli, car noise, skid, and guns, for example), one of then gets over the others, cutting their output

I tried to replace eax.dll, but it didn't work

what's happening?

Do you have a Realtek sound card? If so, that is the problem, those cards have a tendancy to mess up the sound with games. The fix is to lower the sound accelleration. To do this, go to Start, run, type in DXDIAG and press Enter, click the Sound tab and lower the Accelleration to Basic or None and the problem should be fixed. I had the same problems on my XP laptop, and doing this fixed the problem. This is assuming you are on XP, if on Vista, you will have to live with it or get a new Sound card, i'm afraid, as Vista has disabled the Sound Accelleration feature. Hope this helps.
