Just my 2 cents: If you are a big fan, you can wait till it comes out on PC, since it will be more advanced graphics and feature wise (Replay editor anyone), than the Xbox360 version of EfLC. Seriously, stop this "If you are a true/big GTA fan" sh*t already!

 

And what you've said isn't true either. We already know that TLaD will come to the PC, and the EfLC disc version IMO is a sign of it coming to the PS3 later. You know why? Because even if it's not possible to do it as DLC on Sony's console, people can still buy the disc version which will be a completely stand-alone "game". Therefore PS3 people will be happy because even they have "exclusive" stuff over Microsoft's DLC version of TBoGT and TLaD, as we all know there's some extra audio on the disc.

 

So yeah. What I'm sure of is that Xbox360 users will be f*cked in the ass again and PC gamers will get the "ultimate" version (using the term what Xboxers had some months ago) of GTA IV and the DLCs.

Where has it been officially announced that TLAD is coming to the PC? Other than the achievements, which could have been a mistake, there isn't a shred of evidence.

That is a quote from a Take-Two CEO. Now do you really think they are planning to release both TLAD and TBoGT for the PS3 over 20 months after GTA IV's launch? If they consider even 10 months after launch to be too long, then why would they be holding the PS3 DLC this long? Just face it. It's never going to happen.

Congratulations Isuck100% (and yes you do suck 100%) you brought me out of semi-retirement to answer your idiotic post.

 

So you think that adding the achievements was a "mistake" do you and there isn't a shred of evidence the PC is going to get TLAD ? I suppose it could be argued that they totally added the achievements to the PC (which didn't exist up till a month ago) by mistake, it happens especially when you are sloppy arseholes like Rockstar. I suppose it was also totally understandable that they coded a NEW command into the game called "-uninstall content" and then just by complete accident they added this to the help file "-uninstall content = this uninstalls GFWL ingame content".

 

The evidence is irrefutable that the PC is getting DLC, we are not just basing this on the achievements we are basing this on the fact they ADDED new facilities in the game to cater for the DLC. You see you can't hide this sh*t from PC gamers like you can console gamers. Now despite this evidence we still get complete morons like you going "oh there is no evidence that the DLC is coming to the PC" you keep believing that, there is plenty of evidence to show the DLC is coming to the PC, you just have your head so far up MS's arse you don't see it.

 

Finally if this is a mistake why hasn't Rockstar said so ? It seems to me it would be in their interest to say "yeah sorry guys that was a cock up we didn't mean to add the achievements and we didn't meant to intentionally set your game up for the DLC, it was all a mistake". All we get is 6 weeks of "no comment and shut up or we will ban you" yeah it sounds like a mistake to me dozingoff.gif

 

As for why there is no official announcement.............. erm it's Rockstar they are c*nts when it comes to the PC, they were c*nts during the GTA 3 era and they are behaving like utter and absolute c*nts this era too it seems. If you want a more "Rockstar friendly explanation" then how about this. The latest patch has f*cked up the PC version so much that they have had to put the DLC launch on hold whilst they try and rectify the massive f*ck up that was patch 5.

As much as i loved EFLC i wouldn't recommend throwing out all that money. Both games are incredible, but not worth that type of money for a 360 as well. I was a bit disappointed actually, although it's not like i had really high hopes or anything.

Seriously, are you trying to convince yourself that DLCs aren't coming to PC? Because if yes, then buy an X360. We will be glad to play our games costumized to our likings, instead of playing them with restrictions given by a console. But yeah, you can only be a hardcore GTA fan if you buy a console for an episodic content. dozingoff.gif

I meant that a magazine is not a reliable source. e.g. I think it was OXM - They said that in GTA IV you'll be able to get the taxi and the bus...

Ok Einstein then explain to me why Rockstar hasn't "rectified" this mistake then ? If the achievements are a "mistake" why are they still there ? Why has Rockstar not said "oops yeah we didn't mean to do that sorry guys". It isn't like they don't know that we know. The achievements are not a mistake they just didn't expect us to find out about them sarcasm.gif I mean who would have thought to check the achievement list eh mercie_blink.gif Some 6 weeks later they are still there and have not yet been removed. I will agree it was a mistake they made the mistake of releasing the patch and thinking no one would actually bloody well notice the achievements.

 

I would say Rockstar has had plenty of opportunity to correct this mistake and explain what happened. Instead all we get is "no comment and shut up about it or else". Now come on if it was a mistake it would just be plain common sense to say "oops our bad".

Ok so let me see if I have this quite straight, they added the achievements and left them there, they then changed several game files in preparation for the DLC and then they added a new "remove GFWL in game content" command to GTA 4 and finally to compound all this they accidentally released this patch to the public.

 

Now I will be the first to admit that Rockstar are grade A f*ck ups at pretty much everything these days. However this has to be an absolutely new one on me. Seriously I cannot believe a sentient being is even arguing there isn't enough proof that TLaD is coming to the PC suicidal.gif

You are saying a more "reasonable" explaination is that Rockstar are going to do additional content for the PC rather than bring TLaD to the PC ? Erm this is Rockstar here the day they do anything "good" for the PC I will be checking to see if the four horse men of the apocalypse are intending to pop around for a cup of tea and a chin wag. They are already on record as saying there will be no more NEW DLC (but then again what Rockstar say these days can't be relied on).

 

It is simple maths lets see new commands to control in game content + various changes to game files (specifically the bikes) + TLaD achievements = the lost and damned is coming to the PC. Now if you are saying that isn't irrefutable proof then seriously you are just being damn pedantic for the sake of it.

Then why did they not announce it yet? Lost and Damned is getting old now. Great games are getting released like UC2, MW2 and yet, they didn't even announce it.

Well I still prefer my pet theory that they haven't announced anything yet because they are grade A c*nts. However there are several reasons why it hasn't been announced yet. The most obvious one is the fact it wasn't meant to be known yet. This patch came out around 3 ish weeks after TBoGT came out on the 360, you can bet your life MS weren't happy about that. So it is reasonable to believe that the RELEASE of the patch was a mistake and rather than react and deal with the mistake Rockstar and MS are just going "la la la la la la it isn't happening it isn't happening" until they come to the point when there were going to release the info.

 

The other theory is as I mentioned the patch was such a complete and utter balls up (and they probably found the DLC probably doesn't work with the new patch) that they have had to delay the announcement until they can actually get hold of copies of "Programming for Dummies/Retards".

 

At the end of the day there are legitimate reasons (in Rockstars eyes at least) why they haven't announced the DLC but one of those reasons isn't "oh the PC isn't getting the DLC". It is pretty blatantly obvious the PC is getting the DLC when it will come is anyone's guess I have never known a company as amateurish as this to be honest. But when it comes you can bet your life I will be first in line to give them the middle finger and keep my cash in my wallet rather than give Rockstar a single damn penny.

 

Any way the topic has been derailed enough biggrin.gif as for whether someone should buy an xbox 360 for the DLC is a question that should never be asked on a forum. I bought an xbox 360 to play GTA 4 and felt like a complete idiot for it. If you can find enough games to warrant buying an xbox 360 then go ahead and do it. However if you are just buying the console to play the DLC then that is just the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard.

 

If I was a PC/PS3 owner I would just sit it out and wait, the DLC isn't going to vanish overnight. The EFLC will still be there a year from now and who knows what might happen between now and then. If it isn't out on your preferred platform by the end of 2010 then hell pick up a second hand copy of it and a second hand Xbox 360 (that way you don't reward Rockstar or Microsoft for shafting you). That is the best advice I would give right now.

@CC: To be fair, the uninstall content thing could be extra stuff for the video editor or something, but it is much more likely that it is the DLC. The real question is, are they gonna release it DLC or Disc on PC? sly.gif

...and I was browsing the GTA4 website and noticed something I hadn't seen before:

My mate has his Xbox chipped and has had it banned fro box live. So me and him are gonna cook it so that he can get a new Xbox then hes gonna give me one of his spare ones.
