Saintdestroyer
So iv been reading alot of user reviews as of late, and many of them tend to talk a bit down on the graphics. So i thought i would just come here and defend it some and give my opinion as to why i think this game looks good graphically, feel free to comment and give your own : ) Going to try and make this as short as possible (its very late) but main reason why i think this game looks really good, is not the textures on the building or the amazing weather and lighting affects. Its a couple of things but its all covered in realism. Firstly, you have the cars. These cars are so well thought out and put together, they look realistic, the colors on them are realistic, and they move realistically. Why do i say this? Well me talking about it doesn't really do this justice and you can't really see what i mean until you have played this game. But i really think, as i am sure many of you will agree, it all adds up to making this game look real. It looks like a real place and the fact that traffic congestion is handled quite nicely (not amazingly mind) really helps to make this game look and feel both alive but also real. Secondly, and finally you have the city it's self. Now i am not going to go into to much detail, most of you have played it or at least experienced it and i know i have posted about the city at least a couple of times, but this city is the most realistic city you will ever see in any interactive entertainment software. It feels alive, everything has detail, things you don't expect to be there are there and things that are so minor that in real life you don't bat an eyelash. Garbage bags in ally ways, fags on the floor, garbage floating in the water. Its all minor but as i was saying above it all adds to the look and it all makes this game look and feel realistic, so that when your playing it, you shouldn't really be saying to yourself "The buildings are extremely low rez" because, sure they are but they aint there to be heavily analyzed on, they are there to give you the illusion that this city, is (sorry for repeating myself) real. Everything i have said here, you bring it all together and glue it to each other in a professional and realistic way, you have a game that is IMO one of the best looking games of all time. We have got to stop, especially for games like this, looking at them in a technicality sense and start looking at them in an artistic and believable sense. "Do i feel like i am really here? "Could this be a real place?" GTA IV is the perfect example of this, and it nails it down to a tea. So there you have, my reasons as to why i like the games 'graphics'. I am sorry for rambling and repeating but as i said at the beginning it is late. I didn't even touch on the PED and their A.I and the sounds in the game, theres just so much to it that make this game look amazing. thanks for reading, and i hope you are all enjoying liberty city to this day, as much as i am! carcols.dat
You cannot deny that this game does have nice textures, or else you must have set Crysis as your standard. Well said, though. And since we're already on the topic, let me just say that this game runs better than San Andreas on low on my computer. When I bought this game, I didn't expect it to run as well and look as great as it does. A clean install runs horribly, but the patches really compress everything down to where my crappy 1.86GHz 256MB low-end video RAM 2GB RAM setup.
