Xliveless removed my options and all menu buttons

Maybe corrupt game files? Maybe mod isn't designed to run on your version of GTAIV (which ever patch you have installed)? MAYBE you downgraded patches?

This happened to me when I downgraded from Patch 5 (1.0.0.4) to Patch 4 (1.0.4.0) because of incompatibility of mods in new patch.

Yeah I just applied the newer patch again. For example, if you downgraded to patch 1.0.3.0 then go update to 1.0.4.0, THEN 1.0.0.4 (latest patch). I'm not sure whether you need a system restart or not - doubt it though.

This worked for me. I downgrade to 1.0.4.0 all the time to work on .NET mods - then go back to 1.0.0.4 to play online. dozingoff.gif Waiting for newest .NET ScriptHook! Haha. tounge.gif

Hope everything works out.

I have a lead on this issue but don't know how to implement the solution.

It seems many people on this forum with STEAM and some with retail are having no menu buttons after using an ASI Loader such as Xliveless. The problem seems to be related to incorrect or conflicting Games for Windows files.

GODv2 posted this solution, he said it had something to do with the "updated GFWL files" :

Download the "Windows Installer Cleanup utility" (MSICUU2.exe). Remove the two existing "Games for Windows" entries within that program. He then says to verify steam to have it replace the missing Games for Windows files. Then Verify steam and replace them.

A few people responded to him in that post that they did not have STEAM !

Using verify in steam automatically updated me to 1.0.7.0 and messed up all my mods. Also this fix did not help people who don't have steam. Thanks to GODv2 for posting the original fix but we need to be able to locate and replace the correct GFWL files manually.

Anyone with the knowledge about these GFWL files (such as a modder) please help us figure this out ! We need to know which "games for windows" files we need to manually replace.

Got Help ?
