GTA needs a serial killer antagonist

Not someone who goes and blows peoples heads off for fun but someone who is clean, leaves no traces and is mysterious. Someone who you don't find out for half the game until the end. For those who have seen Dexter the tv show you know what I mean, would be a great fun. An Ice truck Killer sort of guy, maybe you got to close to him and now he's playing games with you making you powerless.

I think the serial killer theme is cool, but i don't think having the main antagonist being one would work for gta. Another random recurring villain like Eddie Low would be cool though.

 

I also like Dexter. I think it would cool if there was new features or missions where you could pretend to be a serial killer. Maybe reintroduce stealth kills with the knife and you could dismember the bodies, then either dump the bodies or leave them arranged a certain way for the cops.

 

I know some people would think these a ideas aren't very gta either but it's not like it's part of the story and I like to role play, eg. being a cop isn't gta like either but I still pretended to be one in gta 4 a lot.

The antagonist have played a pretty big part in the last games, so I don’t see him being someone who would sneak around for most of the game. It’s more something I could see for the upcoming ps3 exclusive “Agent”.

Maybe the main character gets too close to this guy or he's family he doesn't know about (I know, rip off ) Makes for a great story though.

I'd like to see a serial killer sort of character included too. Though, I'd prefer if he was merely included in the background of a few missions, and could be found upon completing the main storyline throughout the map in certain areas at certain times (this sort of thing made GTA SA incredibly interesting after completing it, hunting down mythical beings and such... just to see if it wasn't simply speculation). He'd have to be one of those subtle, Patrick Bateman [American Psycho] types who is normal by day yet turns into a monster at night, leaving bodies everywhere (which would also be interesting to stumble upon in certain places around the map).

It'd be cool if there was a notorious hitman on your ass for one part of the game, hired by the antagonist. I mean imagine if in GTA IV Dimitri hired some legendary hitman to kill you, and he would f*ck with you every couple missions by capturing and killing your contacts, planting bombs in your cars and safehouse, maybe even randomly start sniping you from a distant building and you'd be like "OH f*ck! HE'S BACK!". There would definitely be fear and adrenaline flowing through you looking out for this guy, and then closure when you finally get the best of him and off him.

That would be cool, although it could also get annoying. Still, I was disappointed at the end of Vice City when no one came after Tommy after Kent Paul said there was a price on his head.

In Liberty City Stories, your mom puts a hit on you- which is pretty funny; Guys come from no-where and start shooting you sporadically.

 

For me, the one thing I would like to see in neXt is a freaking rival. It would give more satisfaction to beating the game in the long run.

I would actually like having a serial killer as a background, supporting character or main (antagonist) character. So like if he's background then you just hear stories of him in the media, or find dead bodies, or see him in random events. As a supporting he would provide some missions, kill ( a small number of) people before you do, So lets say your going to kill a businessman. You go to the house and the dude and his family is already dead. But then the popo show up and you get 2 stars. Or he could be one of your friends who just happens to be crazy. Then an antag who has lots of connects in society ( from blackmail) and at the same time is a crazy muthaf*cka.

if they did it subtly as a sub plot... ie you first hear about a murder on the radio then maybe some one talks about it on the street, then you hear of another n another, then its on tv, the serial killer gets a name for himself, then he kills a friend, then you get a mission to go kill him. if they made it so the serial killer was actually always walking around so youd recognise him and actually committed the murders so theres a chance you could catch him in the act early on befor he kills your friend or atleast see the crime scene with cops investigating. a serial killer protaganist would be cool if instead of doing killings and other crime missions for profit you wer doing it to induce anarchy and just for fun. i want mark brandon (CHOPPER) reid, i want the joker, i want patrick bateman, i want charles bronson(the english one), charles manson,the krays, mickey and mallory knox(natural born killers),castor troy, hannibal lector, max cady (cape fear), jesse james, rasputin, tyler duerden, the gecko brothers . i want a proper twisted heartless mother f*cker with a personality disorder and for him to be a bit more charismatic and demented in his approach.

i agree, Dexter is a terrible name for such a cold blooded killer. probably the only flaw of the show for me :C

I think thats the point, who would have thought a police forensic specialist named Dexter would be a serial killer? The show is based on the "Dexter" books by Jeff Lindsay.

 

Personally I don't have a problem with his name, sure it's unusual, even kind of dorky but it's better than something more common.
