I hope they mean Tempest has a more varied colour palette than Forge World. I've only played a few custom maps, but every place you look it's grey, grey, grey, grey, bit of green from the ground, grey, grey and grey.

 

I never thought I'd be pleased at the idea of putting some brown into a game, but whaddayaknow.

Going from the screens I'd say it's this, I doubt Bungie would release a brand new forge specific map this early, I'd give them till the 2nd map pack (if they do one) for another one of those.

 

I'm glad the have a map like Breakpoint, I always thought the bit [spoilers]under Sword base outside Halseys Lab

would make a decent MP map, it also looks like a surprisingly big map, with a Wraith and a Falcon being available on it.

          Lineup rebalanced to offer more kill, less frill.

          Removed Infection, Safe Havens, Race, Rally, Headhunter Pro

          Removed “Classic” gametypes

    * Team Slayer

          Removed all Snipers gametypes

    * Team SWAT

          Added SWAT Magnums gametype

    * Team Objective

          Removed 1 Flag Classic

          Removed Headhunter Pro

          Removed the following gametypes from Hemorrhage due to the size of the map with only 8 players:

                +  Multiflag Classic

                +  1 Flag CTF

                +  1 Flag Pro

                +  1 Bomb Assault

          Removed Oddball and Hot Potato from Boardwalk

    * Multi Team

          o Removed SWAT

          Removed Classic gametypes

          Removed The Cage

          Changed weighting for Rocket Race so it does not have a 100% chance to appear in Slot 3

    * Big Team Battle

          Removed Multiflag from Boneyard and Spire

    * Invasion

          This playlist now offers 3 voting options

    * Firefight

          Updated Firefight playlist gametypes to be a full set instead of 1 round. Adjusted skull progression.

          You can no longer pickup other weapons in Sniper Attack

 

Maps

 

    * Zealot/Arena Zealot

          Arena Zealot is now used for all Slayer gametypes

          Players can no longer stand on the edge of the generators in space and crouch to shoot below the shield

    * Asylum

          Softkill zones added to the tops of the Sniper buildings

    * Boneyard

          Modified respawn zones for Slayer gametypes

    * Hemorrhage

          Modified respawn zones for both bases

          Respawn timers for all Warthogs on Hemorrhage should now be 120 seconds

 

Gametypes

 

    * CTF

          All CTF gametypes should now have a player respawn of 10 seconds

          All Classic CTF gametypes now feature Flag At Home To Score and Touch Return

          Flag At Home To Score disabled for all non-Classic CTF gametypes

          Modified Flag Return and Flag Reset times:

                + 1 Flag on Small maps use 10 second return and 30 second reset

                + All other CTF gametypes use 30 second return and 45 second reset

    * Assault

          Assault gametypes now have a player respawn time of 10 or 15 seconds depending on the map

 

 

In addition to the Playlist changes, we’re also introducing two new Forge Map Variants with this update, Cliffhanger and Atom. Atom will be on display in the Team Slayer, Team Snipers, Team Objective, Multi Team, and Big Team Battle Playlists. Cliffhanger will be found in Rumble Pit, Team Slayer, Team SWAT, and Team Objective.

 

 

Pretty awesome update on out way.

 

 

 

Also, 117 Million completed challenges will lift the rank cap.

Oh ace, what's the exact date for that update? It looks pretty awesome, > can't wait for them to release it, plus two new forge variants added into matchmaking is always a plus. Also 117 Million seems a bit high but there are thousands of people playing Reach so it shouldn't take long.

Jesus Christ, get a job humanity. Think of all the sh*t we could've done with this time. We could've cured cancer or something. Actually on second thought, I wouldn't want your average Halo player anywhere near a pair of tongs let alone in a laboratory.

Ive heard that u cant be banned from CR Farming on ONI

Ive seen a million vids and about 50% of the comments say that you can be banned and the other half say that u cant

No... Dammit I can't find that thread on Bnet about credits reset where Ferex (A Bungie member) that kills with the target designator will not result in a ban as he was referring to people whom exploited challenges resets.

 

I'm pretty happy with the updates coming...

 

Crashsite is not that popular anyway, although I was getting some good scores since unlimited ammo and a Fuel Rod Cannon and what not. Also that Living Dead playlist... Sweet. I can finally play Rumble Pit where you actually do a FFA battle also some Infection tuned maps would be nice but at least Arena Zealot will be played in all gametypes. No more hiding with the oddball or camping in Infection so I welcome it. I'm excited about the upcoming updates.

There is a capped limit per day. But only farming credits from say, Gruntpocolypse, is going to make you meet that limit

I believe there's also a weekly limit, which is actually lower than 7x the daily limit. It's Bungie's way of telling you to put down the controller and go outside.

You need to have bought the normal EVA helmet for it to be unlocked for purchase, and even then you need to be a Commander to buy it.

If your talking about DMR spawns when you play Classic Slayer, kinda yeah. However it's probably just my lack of knowledge about the map. Before I could not find a shotgun on Sword Base! The only time I've got it was from dead body pickups! Also the Shotgun, Sniper and Splaser in Invasion on Boneyard for the humans when the Elites have already passed the first barrier. I hardly ever chose to spawn at 'Shop' to discover such weapons. Once finding that out I've been having a lot of fun and kills, especially when I can steal some of those weapons when I'm on the Elite side.

This new map called "Atom" in matchmaking sounds downright terrible. The map is available to download already; and here's some of the things people on Bungie.net observed:

 

 

-Terrible lines of sight.

-Rocket launcher has 6 SHOTS? WHY

-The Gravity Lift serves no purpose on the map. It lifts you through the open to a non-advantageous spot on the map, and you get hurt from it. It is almost a deathtrap going up in it. Also, with the Rocket right next to it, it gets to be overpowered as well because with 6 shots, the player just flies through the air to get instant overkills.

-Why are all the power weapons in the middle?

-Why is the middle of the map a deathtrap?

-Why is the bottom of the map useless?

-The only good thing about the map is the spawns are placed correctly. But that doesn't mean much because the map doesn't lend itself to play well with the lines of sight.

-Too small for BTB.

It wouldn't surprise me if Bungie didn't tweak some of those things like the 6 Shot Rockets, i don't think it's being used in the Big Team playlist though so the last point seems kinda pointless, though correct me if i'm wrong.

In the Playlist Updates I quoted earlier, it states this at the bottom:

So it will be in BTB

 

 

[email protected] I confirm. That man cannon (which was referred to as a Grav Lift) takes away a 1/4 of your shields. In a good map, that shoulnot happen

 

EDIT 2: There's a second version of Atom, where the rocket has been reduced to 4 rockets. However, the man cannon problem still remains. I managed to fix it with a One-way Shield Door.
