Robinski
haha really? Wow. So basically you should play Halo Reach first, then Halo 1, Halo 2, Halo ODST and then Halo 3 Yeah, if you wanted to do a plot run the running order would be: (Halo wars>) Reach> CE> 2> ODST> 3. Although to be fair I'd just play the FPSs in the order they were released; while CE is still a very solid and enjoyable game it'd feel quite raw and cut down after playing Reach. Another Bnet ban recipient post: Everyone reading this, We must take action ageist Bungie. We can not let these Scumbags get away with unlawful banning. Actions. 1, Lawsuits 2, Spam forums with polls and make partitions 3, STOP PLAYING Bungies P.O.S game. C.o.D Black ops is coming out soon guys, Fuk Halo Reach. Hi-larious. james227uk
Can't wait for the update this month. Finally SWAT is being put into it's own playlist from Team Slayer. Then it's just Snipers to go back in it's own playlist, and I'll have my favourite playlist back. EDIT: Forgot to mention, there's a little "trick" to get around the Quit Probation. I use it in Score Attack when I forget to choose the right gametype. If you go to the dashboard, it doesn't count as a quit. EDIT 2: There's this problem with the Jetpack, where if you have unlimited energy on it and fly up, there's a high limit, and you begin to loose altitude. However, I found a way around it. If you set player Gravity to 50%, you can fly up forever until you hit the height barrier Edited October 3, 2010 by james227uk

To be honest, if you want to be spot on with it all, play it like this: Halo Wars > Halo Reach > Halo Combat Evolved > Halo 2 (But stop after the Prophets Carrier does the Slipspace jump) > Halo 3: ODST > The Rest of Halo 2 > Halo 3. Thats how I'd do it anyway, just to make it all flow as one consistent story. I just bought the Reach soundtrack off iTunes, I love hearing the songs when playing and I just love the Halo music anyway, it's always amazing and blows me away, I finally have a chance to listen to it without the sound of gunfire, and so far it's amazing. That doesn't make sense, I could have sworn ODST is part of the 3 storyline, considering it focuses on the full on assault on Earth (specifically the remnants of New Mombassa) to find the forerunner artifact that creates the massive slipspace portal, by the newly Brute dominated Covenant. Right before all of Africa is glassed due to the flood infestation. Couldn't take place during the Halo 2 storyline because Brutes are your primary enemy, not Elites. |PropagandaIncorporated:|: Steam:|: DeviantArt:|: Last.FM|
Tyler
Actually the real storyline goes, Halo Wars> Halo: Reach> Halo:CE> Halo 2> (Halo:ODST + Halo 3) (The storyline of ODST and 3 cross too much to actually make them a separate storyline, in the Universal aspect. The slipspace jump definitely happens during 2. From the Halo 2 wiki page: Shortly after the commencement of the ceremony, a Covenant fleet appears outside Earth's defensive perimeter. While the UNSC manages to repel most of the surprisingly small fleet, a single Covenant cruiser carrying an important member of the Covenant hierarchy, the High Prophet of Regret, flies through the orbital platforms to the city of New Mombasa, Kenya. The Master Chief clears the city of Covenant; with his fleet destroyed, Regret makes a hasty slipspace jump, and Keyes, Johnson, Cortana and the Master Chief follow aboard the ship In Amber Clad just as the slipspace rupture destroys much of the city. The crew exits slipspace to discover another Halo installation; realizing the danger the ring presents, the Master Chief is sent to kill Regret while Keyes and Johnson find Halo's key to activation, the Index. james227uk
Honestly. ODST takes place merely hours after the slipspace jump in Halo 2, which is also seen in ODST. I can't believe there's confusion about this

I can't believe there's confusion about this Exactly my thinking. Bungie even said it takes place during the event of Halo 2 numerous times during ODST's development. To bring the topic back to Reach, anyone think today's challenges are a bit lacklustre? Not many credits being dished out from 2 of them and the Weekly Challenge doesn't seem all too hard. The-King
Aww, probably would've noticed that if I actually remembered more of ODST's storyline. Is there an explanation for the whole "all Brute, no Elite" thing in ODST? Since it occurs before the Brute Rebellion. |PropagandaIncorporated:|: Steam:|: DeviantArt:|: Last.FM|

Tyler
Damn, you got me there. Although I am not exactly sure what a douchenozzle is, I expect it is a foul object, riddled with a nasty odour that cannot come clean. Anyway, my xbox is broken, so I probably won't be playing Reach for a good while.

Robinski
Presumably the fleet/ship that attacked Earth consisted of Brutes, and no Elites This is probably the case. In a similar fashion it seems that the higher level infantry in the fleet (?) that pursued the the Pillar Of Autumn to the first Halo consisted only of Elites. I imagine the two races hadn't got along well at all even before the disgracing of the Elites and as such were probably largely segregated. Personally, until Reach I was under the impression that the Brutes weren't even part of the Covenant until H2, that they were "uplifted" from their home planet sometime between 1 and 2. But Reach shows that they've been there a lot longer and just simply weren't present in the fleet that pursued the PoA. In other news, I hit Captain earlier today. The grind is over! Now I'm only 5k off having Birthday Party too, can't wait to go home for a few days and use that baby in actual online games.
Tyler
I thought it was common Halo knowledge that anyone could find those dead Elite bodies in ODST, and when you spot them Buck even comments something like, "What the hell? Looks like they were fighting each other."
james227uk
A few dead Elites does not explain why there were many more Brutes than Elites. Robinski nailed it above. Tyler
Seems like I cannot convey my point, or people on these forums can't read between the lines. mrpain
I have not bought Reach (and probably wont play it till a few months time, Dead Rising 2 keeping me busy) but I would like to see more Forge World Creations. Dead Eltes = Civil war in the covenant = Elites withdraw forces away from Covenant occupied space. I don't think you can convey your point. Why would Elites withdraw when they consider themselves better than Brutes. The final switchover and rebellion happened after ODST Here's the official reason from Bungie "Leaving the Elites to scour Earth in search of a Holy Forerunner relic, and ultimately to uncover the most precious and sacrosanct Forerunner artifact in existence -- the very portal that opened upon the Ark itself -- would have placed all Truth's aspirations upon the shoulders of a species he had already decided to cast aside, a species splintered by heresy and derision, even amongst their own ranks." "So the Prophet of Truth deploys Brutes. And the Brutes were eager to prove that their loyalty and battle prowess had earned them a seat at the side of the Hierarchs, as the honored protectors of the sacred Covenant. Such blind faith and eagerness marked them as near perfect pawns for Truth to sacrifice." Edited October 6, 2010 by james227uk

Minic
Did you have to contact them? Yeah I used the customer support form on the GAME website and asked about my codes around 4 days after Reach came out and then they got back 2 days ago but I didn't check the email until today. I'm gonna use the Recon helmet for a bit but I'm pretty content on keeping my chest piece as it is.
james227uk
Recon looks pretty awesome, me thinks. I'm not using it right now (Using CQB), but I'll probably switch to it again in the future
Robinski
I'm not such a big fan of recon. I do like the fact that they gave it away relatively easily after all the hubbub it caused for H3 though. That said, some guy was giving away a load of codes on another site, that he'd got from work that they hadn't sold, and I leapt at the chance 'cos "Hey! Free stuff!". EDIT: ODST Helm is the best helm by the way. Thought you guys would like to be informed.
