Which Console

Recommended Posts

Or if he has a PC good enough to run it on full, he should do that. It actually looks better than the console version when running on full.

Ā

Then he could just pick up EFLC for his 360, if he has one.

Ā

I think the DLC will be coming soon, though, due to TLAD achievements appearing in the PC version of GTA IV.

Yeah, it definitely looks better on full than a console, and you get a video editor.

Ā

Use this to test your PC. If the bar goes past the 'Recommended' line, you should probably just get it for PC.

I have a PS3 and xbox360

Ā

GTA4 on the PS3 and the BOGT and LOTD on the 360

Ā

Ā

The graphics are generally equal, but they take far longer to load on the 360, I have my car or bike floating over ground because the 360 has not processed the ground details yet.

Ā

The frame rate is higher on the PS3

Ā

As for Multiplayer, I think the 360 is better with the DLC options

I have it on the 360 and the PC. The graphics are not as good on my PC (because of my ATI 3450 256MB card) but the PC has the exculsive possiblilty for mods.

Ā

If you have a really really really really really good PC I recommend playing it on the PC. If you don't have a PC that was made before 2008, go with the console version.

Problem is, I'm living with an iMac and even when using my bootcamp partition, no games. I've got $380 to get a console and a game. When I tried IV for PC it was buggy to the point where it was unplayable.

You must have played it on an underpowered/poorly optimized system. I run GTA:IV on the system specifications in my signature, which aren't particularly high-end, but I can still produce higher frame rates with higher resolution textures then either console versions.

Ā

However, if you're deciding on a console, get a PS3. Blu-Ray capabilities, free multiplayer network (no subscription charges), etc. They also recently released the slim version for $299, which is quite a steal when most of us paid in excess of $400 for the original models.

I’m keeping close eye on this topic and the slightest hint of ā€œfan-boy-ismā€ will result in me passing the offenders name onto the mods/admins for a possible banning.

Ā

Being a PS3 owner I was pleased with the graphics but the 360 is almost identical. As mentioned with a decent enough PC this would sub seed both consoles. With the DLC and a seemingly more active MP community (PS3 is nearly always dead) I would go with the 360 version.
