GTA4 likes to get stuck when I press WASD.

Alright, just installed a fresh copy of GTA IV on my new PC, but the problem is, every time I press any key my game decides to take a short, 0.5-1 second break. It's f*cking annoying.

 

The benchmark runs beautifully on high, and everything else seems to work great. It's just when I press a key my game decides to get stuck.

 

I've done that -memrestrict stuff, it didn't make a difference.

 

Here are my PC specs:

 

RAM: 4GB

Processor: Intel i7

GFX Card: GTX 275

OS: Windows 7

 

So, anybody want to tell me what's going on and how to fix it?

Try remapping the controls in the controls configuration.

I don't know if it made this any better, but after doing this it has stopped. But it still does stutter periodically, and benchmarking works fine.

I know I'm double posting, but the problem is back again. I think it has something to do with the physics engine, any ideas?

 

EDIT: Rightio, I figured it out. It ONLY happens when I press more than one button, either in quick succession or at the same time. Does ANYONE know a fix for this?
