Windows 7

Hi,

Ok, I need help. I have twice tried to upgrade my Vista Home Basic to 7 Ultimate. The upgrade advisor says everything checks out. However, both attempts have failed in the same place. When it gets to the Restoring user files (last upgrade phase) it reboots and thats it. I select the windows 7 (I dual-boot) and I just have a blank screen. After reverting to vista, I found this in the error log.

I'm guessing the error is bluetooth, but I don't have anything to do with bluetooth. I haven't used a single bluetooth device with this laptop. Ever.

If anyone knows anything, please tell me. I feel like I have wasted my time here.

EDIT: If this helps, here's my last lines of the install log

Try the following.

a. Update all drivers (such as: audio, Chipset, BIOS, SATA driver, Video.) from the computer manufacture first.

b. remove all third party CD and DVD burning software.

c. Turn off three Windows features

d. Clean Boot

Turn off three Windows features before performing Upgrade

1. Click Start, and click Control Panel.

2. Click Classic View on the left pane, and double click Program and Features.

3. Click "Turn Windows features on or off on the left" pane.

Note: If you are prompted for an administrator password, type the password, and click Continue.

4. In the Windows Features dialog box, uncheck the check boxes of the following features:

a. Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0\XPS Viewer

b. Remote Differential Compression

c. Window DFS Replication Service and Click on OK. ( it will take 5 to 10 minutes to get this configured)

Clean Boot

This method will help determine if this issue is caused by a loading program or service. Please perform the following steps:

1. Click the "Start" Button, type "msconfig" in the search bar and press Enter. Please click the Continue if the "User Account Control" window pops up.

2. Click the "Services" tab, check the "Hide All Microsoft Services" box and click "Disable All" (if it is not gray).

3. Click the "Startup" tab, click "Disable All" and click "OK".

Then, restart the computer. When the "System Configuration Utility" window appears, please check the "Don't show this message or launch the System".

4. Insert the upgrade DVD and start the setup program. Please follow the instruction to upgrade your computer.

If Windows 7 still failed to install, please collect the proper log for analyzing, you can refer to the following link:
