How do you disable the radion (PERMANENTLY)

Every time I get into a vehicle, the radio turns on, and my computer lags a lot for a while. And then, while I'm driving, the radio automatically tunes to the same station and my computer lags some more. The only way to prevent this is to turn the radio off, but I have to do it for every vehicle I use. I played around with every possible audio setting possible and no dice. This is really annoying.

 

What can I do to disable the radio? Can I delete some files?

 

P.S. I play a downloaded version.

I tried that. And I also tried all 4 combinations of switching the audio eq and auto tune on and off.

 

I'm afraid changing the audio settings won't work.

I don't think you can without modifing the game. You might post in the Mod section.

Just buy the game, maybe it's a glitch with your downloaded version. I've seen the PC Version in gamestop the other day for $10.

If you don't want to listen to the radio(why would anyone not want to?), there is great music in there, all you have to do, is go to the in-game Audio options and turn the radio volume all the way down, then you won't hear the radio anymore.

 

Besides, what does the radio have to do with the game lagging? Your PC probably isn't up to par to play SA on the higher settings-try running the game on ALL LOW settings and AA turned OFF and see if that makes a difference. Also, try getting the Retail version(available for less than $10 from any Wal-Mart, Target, Amazon, etc-both stores and the online stores) and see if that makes a difference.

It lags because you downloaded a rip which has all the audio removed from the files, but the files themselves are still there (a blank audio archive) and it tries to find a random track from inside the archive but can't, resulting in a slight graphical lag. You may as well go out and buy the game - it's about £10 - or download the full audio set for it to remove the lag. Then just turn the radio volume down in the Audio Options menu.

But seriously dude. Buy the full version of the game. Its alot less hassle.

If you are really sick and tired of the radio just delete some of the stream files. A the moment i see no other way for you.
