LCstuntman
hopefully you're excited enough to receive a verbal warning lol hahaha btw, your sig is awesome, did you make that video? I remember seeing it but don't remember who made it... Yeah, it saved. That thing is badass! Yeah, i made it, and thanks. ill have to try to get the skylift sometime. hopefully it's not too much of a frustrating process. Nice, thats a really good video . And I spent over 2 hours on it (combined from yesterday and today ) , but it really comes down to how lucky you are. You just gotta hope Yusuf crashes by himself. If not, its way more difficult and time-consuming.

BTW i tryed lifting a truck from the airport the Magnet makes a cling noise but when you fly up it lets go. Weird this. Maybe if you press something.... XTREME0235
Is this one of those vehicles where you can only obtain them during a mission? Yes it is, but this one however is obtainable after the mission if your quick. R* really did not want us to fly one of these, they couldn't simply make a cheat code or something. Zee_Lolz
i dont think rockstar hates us, i think they do this on purpose. they know that from previous games, the unique vehicles atrract a lot of attention and time. so they put the skylift in as a really big unique vehicle. as for the magnet not working, it was probably glitched and taken out. maybe the vehicles were too heavy. and if you say it can lift a train, well the train isn't physical so it doesn't count. Hove_Beach
did R* have to make the helicopter actually flyable for Luis to include the vehicle in the game, if it was only intended to be seen and not flown ? As you have to @[email protected] the game to get it - could this be considered an easter egg that R* wanted people to get if they were crafty like extreme and others. or do you guys think that people just found a way to get it that R* overlooked. as with bahama mamas - NO DEVELOPER - EVEN R* would EVER put that much effort into that club for just one mission,, as others have said - are the other "unobtainable" vehicles - obtainable now? Maybe it could work, but not through the game, maybe if someone mods the game but I think someone would notice if it could indeed lift up vehicles by now, if I got the helicopter I would try every button when using it. So maybe it was supposed to work but then they just removed the feature from the game

The subway car isn't solid, it just sinks through the ground. I haven't even managed to get the helicopter yet, I get up, and I see the helicopter but then this tree comes in the way where the camera angle sort of snaps down a little bit and after that the helicopter flashes and then it's gone. I HAVE A QUESTION: when you guys fly backwards when starting to chase the skylift do you hold R to look back or do you just spin around the camera angle? I don't know where to write this, but since it happened while trying to get the Skylift I'll say it here. So I was doing the skylift thingy, and I got tired so I stopped trying and was driving top speed with my Bullet GT on the same road you take to the bridge where you jumped down on the train. You know before you reach that plays you drive under the bridge then turn left, well I was driving TOP SPEED there with the Bullet GT, as I came up from driving under that bridge there's a bit of a hill which makes your car jump a bit, I was in mid air as another Bullet GT driving infront of me was there, I in-air hit the front of the car with the left side of my car which caused my car to do a 360 flip, or kickflip if you wanna call it that. And the flip was literally the fastest flip ever, it just happened in 0.5 seconds, I landed on both weels a PERFECT landing and kept driving, I didn't loose any speed I just kept going really fast, one of the most cool looking things I've done in this game Edited December 1, 2009 by Laufas

adamcs
Here's a video of the Skylift with the subway car attached: The trick to get it with the subway car is to gain more speed (and avoid the flash). To do this, do a 180 as soon as you get in the Annihilator; then stay as low as possible and keep flying downwards. The train disappears after you save it. Glad I did, too, because I wasn't gonna go another 3 hours trying to get it if I had lost it. Glad there's a few videos up now though as I was getting tired of explaining it to my friends. gamesguru
Nice video there adamcs. I usually turn as soon as I get in the Annihilator, I just have trouble lifting and keeping it steady. I've managed to get to a point where I'm just starting to chase it, and for a split second it goes out of vision, and I'll be like "damn it!". Although if you can't save it, then that's a damn shame. I might give it a try sometime; I just finally got a Skylift first try earlier today, so I'm pretty pleased. I used the original method by XTREME; I tried your method first adamcs, but the Skylift didn't seem to lower itself and just carried on flying over the Highway, so I changed tactics. Anyway, , but not on the level of adamcs' . I credited you XTREME0235, as well as the people who have posted here, so don't worry. Also adamcs, I linked to your tutorial halfway through the video as you used a different method, so I just wanted to give viewers that option; I hope you don't mind. Funny how the subway car sounds like it's running on the tracks, and it's also cool this provides a way to (sort of) walk through the subway car interior. Lancet
I finally wrote up the entry for my guide. I wanted people here to proofread it, as I basically re-wrote takadox's own strategy to try and word it better and make it clearer. Here it is: Strategy: This is a rare step-by-step strategy listing, due to how long it is. As difficult as it all sounds, it's actually quite simple and easy. The problem is that screwing up means replaying the entire mission again, and there's NO way to shorten it. You must drive Yusuf's car to the marker, then follow the entire train sequence, then NOT skip the final cutscene on every single attempt. 1: Before attempting this, use the Annihilator cheat (359-555-0100). This is important as it needs to be in your cell phone's cheat list. For those who dislike cheating and only want one cheat on their record, do this in Luis' house. The cheat will be added but your official count will still be at zero. 2: During the final cutscene, Yusuf drops Luis off. Luis waves at Yusuf and then makes a comment. During this comment, open up your cellphone and quickly use the Annihilator cheat (should be on the bottom of your phone list, and at the top of the cheat list). As soon as this happens, exit out of the phone, run to the Annihilator, and get inside. 3: Hold down on the stick as the Annihilator takes off, to tilt the heli backwards. Keep going like this, turning when you get a chance to face the direction he took off in. 4: Yusuf and the Skylift should be in the distance. Chances are he's flashing, as though the game is deciding whether or not to delete the helicopter. If you cannot see the Skylift at this point, or if it vanishes, retry, because it's already lost. 5: Once he stops flashing, you're safe, so long as he isn't out of sight for too long. He should be, by default, heading south along the water east of the highway along the east coast of Broker. To the south should be a section of raised highway (the east-west highway which leads to the Broker Bridge). Slowly and carefully fly and land your Annihilator here (keep it intact though!), making sure the Skylift doesn't leave your view (a moment should be okay, but if given a couple of seconds off-camera, it will vanish). 6: Once on the highway, go to the north wall, near the open rail section of wall (not the solid concrete). The Skylift should still be over the water, moving very slowly. It should also be moving down to your own altitude. Get out your Advanced MG and open fire on the cockpit, at where Yusuf should be. If you have trouble finding it, use a sniper rifle to scope it out. 7: In my experience, the MG should be sufficient to kill Yusuf and cause the Skylift to spin down. If not, use the sniper rifle. The helicopter is large enough, and the water shallow enough, that shooting it down in the correct place means being able to retrieve it! It shouln't explode, nor should the blades snap. 8: Get back in the Annihilator and land on the section of beach just north of the highway you sniped from. Get out, and run over to the Skylift. Depending on where it lands, you may need to swim out to it, but even if swimming, Luis will still get in the Skylift (providing it is intact). 9: After doing this, saving it requires heading to Niko's Middle Park East parking spot. Park the Skylift so that the right-side wheels (both front and back) are within the yellow parking zone. This will allow you to keep the helicopter! Some other tips: -If the blades snap after Luis is in the Skylift, inputting the health cheat (362-555-0100). This will fully repair the helicopter. -Turning around quicker (by doing a 180 as soon as you take off) will let the Skylift retain the subway car, however this is of little use as it vanishes when saved in a parking spot. The subway car is intangible anyways.
Lancet
Ugh, now, every time I manage to land on that overpass where you're to snipe him from, he starts flying abckwards, meaning he's never over viable ground to snipe him onto. Anyone have any ideas on this, and how to prevent it? It worked twice (although once I died because my Annihilator broke when I landed), and now it does this EVERY TIME. Whenever I do it, after he stops in midair, he starts going backwards, then after about 15 seconds he stops and goes forward again. This is when I'm flying next to him in the Annihilator (I don't land on the overpass right away). Maybe that will help, I don't know. Just wait for him to start flying forward, then land.
