Amount of Open Space in the Game

Recommended Posts

ViceCityscape

I noticed that Liberty City in this game seems to have a lot less open space than in Vice City or the Liberty City in Grand Theft Auto III. Perhaps starting with San Andreas, it has felt like in the city there's not much large open space besides airports. The amount and size of open space in Vice City and III was a lot more, for example the parking lots, the grass areas between buildings, the concrete area behind hotels. It just felt like you had a lot more playing room in Vice City and III in the cities. What do you think?

Open space was a complaint in Vice City, but more so, space that was never used in the game, either for missions, or for hiding things to find. I am all for hiding power-ups. Guns, armor, hidden packages, bribes back in the day. Weapons, health and armor were all key things I was looking for, here it's seagulls or pigeons.

Still, people felt 200 was too many, I'm still having a hard time getting them all, which I hate to admit, having been all over the map I THOUGHT!

Of, there's rooftops I haven't been on, or haven't checked in every saved game. There used to be things hidden along elevated train tracks, not so much anymore...from what I've seen.

For long police chases, where you may try to sprint or drive, beaches are plentiful, some locations below the elevated row. The road near Hove Beach runs a good stretch before any turns, if you're looking for a good getaway. My favorite to run from cops is the middle road running from Broker/Dukes to the bridge and freeway system near Bohan, where the body of water seperates them. In Broker, there's the circle monument with a ped walkway allowing cars to go through (knocking peds over, or running them down), as you hit that center of the hill, the car gets airborne. Always a good rush!

Where ever there's a slow motion jump, you seem to put good distance between you and cops in pursuit
