Help with my guide

Can someone (or multiple people) here test this for me in the next few days?

---------

5.1 - Lustered Black Cavalcade FXT

---------

Mission: Practice Swing (Tony Prince)

Difficulty: *****

Required: Mission failure, sticky bombs, and a pushing vehicle

Discovered by: Lancet Jades

Description: These are black Cavalcade FXTs with a luster.

Strategy: Three of these sit in the golfing area after the golfing segment

is finished. Unfortunately, they are UJ. To obtain one, play through the

mission until you kill the three Cavalcade FXTs of goons. Once this is

done, set sticky bombs on both Caddys. Blow up the two Cavalcades that you

don't want (leaving the lustered one). Start the chase, and once they have

been lured outside of the golf course area (near the parking lot), quickly

exit your Caddy and move away, then detonate the bombs. The Cavalcades will

stop giving chase, and drive away slowly. Wait for the passengers to leave,

then shoot the driver out. Now the hard part is pushing it. Call Henrique

for a vehicle, or call a Firetruck and jack it (the Cavalcade FXT is too

heavy to use the water on, though, and jacking one may get you a wanted

level). Slowly push it to Luis' apartment, then go inside, save, but DON'T

reload. Go back out, and if it is still there, drive away and back to make

sure it repairs. If so, save again and reload to make sure you keep it.

It's a new strategy for the lustered Cavalcade FXTs in that mission, drawing from adamcs' strategy for the caged Caggy in that same mission (though not using fiis' Firetrick trick).

I tried it once and had the same problem as I originally did (and others too) with the caged Caddy - the dead driver stayed in the driver seat, and it was UJ, preventing you from removing him. I tried my own caged Caddy strategy of saving the game and then checking the vehicle again (check the Rocco's Caddy thread for more info), but alas, it failed and the car vanished when I drove away and returned.

I just want to know if this trick really DOES work, and lets you get a lustered Cavalcade FXT, or if I have to toss this one into the unobtainable section. I suspect there's some trick we haven't fully understood yet which determines if the vehicle is saved or not, but I don't know what it could be, and don't really have the willpower to test this multiple times at the moment.

Caged caddy tutorial. He explains that only the firetruck can remove the body from the caddy, thus making it savable in a safehouse. He also has some other interesting vids and some made dedicated to my glitching into interiors.

The Firetruck is necessary to remove the body. I don't remember that last time. I pushed with a Firetruck, but the body was still there. I saved the game, and then finally Rocco vanished. Was that only because of the Firetruck and its water stream?

And I posted this also asking for others to try it, because I don't have the time or willpower right now to try it again, so if others could try it and see if it works or not (and if it DOES work, exactly how they made it happen), it'd save me a lot of effort later. I'd like to update the guide come Monday, and having this info would be great.

So, is anyone able or willing to help figure out how to reliably get the body out of the driver's seat, so that (hopefully) vehicles with this problem can be stored?

I don't really see how the Firetruck is supposed to "remove the body," unless it's Caddy-specific. And even in that event, it didn't remove it for me, going into the Safehouse and saving did (obviously I didn't reload, though).

Hey,

I'll have a look and see if I come up with anything...

I was a little confused at first with your guide, i made a new version for you, use it if you like;

Description: These are black Cavalcade FXTs with a luster.Strategy: After you have hit Rocco three times with the golf ball, three black lustered Cavalcade FXT's will drive in with thugs in. Kill them all, try to not damage the cars. When they are dead, go down there and have a closer look and decide which one you like. They can come in different luster colors, I've seen blue and green in two attempts. You will not be able to enter these cars, yet. Blow up the two you do not want. Place a sticky bomb on each of the two golf carts, then immediately enter the golf cart with Tony in it as you are supposed to, and drive away. New thugs will spawn, and they will use the Cavalcade FXT you left to chase you.Drive out of the golf course, and make sure the Cavalcade FXT is outside aswell, then, exit the golf cart, move away a bit, and press down on the D-pad to blow up the sticky bombs. The mission will now fail, but since all mission guys are dead, you won't be takento a cutscene. The thugs in the Cavalcade will now stop hunting you and exit their car,but the driver will stay, and drive off (in normal/slow speed). Chase after him and AIM yourweapon at the driver, he will then get scared and run off (important!). If you kill him inhis seat so he stays there, you may have issues with saving the car. Now you have to push it all the way to Luis safehouse's parking lot. Call Henriquefor a car, or obtain one whatever way you like, one option is to call the firetruck (911). Once you have carefully pushed the car to your safehouse, go insideand save, do not load, go outside and drive away far enough (one or two blocks) and come back. When you are back, the car should be there repaired and haveunlocked doors! Save again.

cheers

Your strategy didn't work; holding them up didn't coax them out of the vehicle. The driver just ignored the gun. Even a warning shot didn't faze him.

However, I found ANOTHER way that does: call for an APC and push the vehicle onto its side. The driver will get out after a few seconds, solving the problem.
