supermortalhuman
You have to list more numbers than that. WHAT 2.0ghz 2 core processor do you have? Which make and model so we can see what really matters (FSB and Cache) WHAT ram do you have? What make so we can see the numbers that really matter (Speed and type of ram) GPU gotta go. You need something nicer. Assuming your ram is not slow or old (ie slower than 533mhz DDR2), it is PLENTY for this game. Assuming your CPU is not low end, it is fast enough for 30+ FPS. How do I know? I had 2 gb ram, core2duo @1.86ghz and a 512mb ATi 3850 - 30+ FPS. I added a gig of ram, turned on video editor, NO impact on performance. I added a GTS 250 1gb video card, NO impact other than High Textures working [correctly as they should be working] all setting EXCEPT texture quality were high prior to this upgrade, and now I have high textures - all settings still way up there, running well and above 30fps I still have a 1.86 core2duo and it runs the game well and above 30 fps, so if you have an AMD at 2ghz, you need a new processor, but depending on the model if it is an Intel, it might be more than adequate. The specs provided, however, are consumer/marketing numbers and as you can see we can't tell much from them, since those numbers are not the be-all of your hardware. If you are underestimating your hardware, and you lower too many settings, you will hurt performance - the game needs to be set to run as high as your system will allow. For example: If I run the game on safemode, as AWESOME as it runs on 1600x1200 and 1680x1050, on safe mode or low resolutions I get only 8 to 15 FPS - if you set your settings too low, you bottleneck the game some how (it's a bug according to Take 2 support, however I just think that it is a side effect of leaving the past behind) Edited November 27, 2009 by supermortalhuman Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/433846-fps/?do=findComment&comment=1059656308 Share on other sites
