ViceCity09
One of the things that makes GTA so specal is that it is more than just a crime game. In fact I think if it was just a crime video game it would be just another decent game. Especially with GTA IV, the city is so alive and with future possibilities it can get even better. dragmetolibertycity
No matter how many times you say "you haven't been there" it does not change the fact that Chicago is gritty and urban just like New York.....same atmosphere. And what major city isn't urban and gritty? Miami is urban and gritty. Just because you are only used to seeing that 1 side of Miami in the media means nothing. You have a general perception of Chicago and that's fine but quit speaking non sense on why Chicago wouldn't make for a GTA location when there is really nothing similar between Chicago and New York. I live in New York and have my entire life. I've been to Chicago 3 times and there is no real similarities between them. A place based on Chicago would work great. It's a way different enviroment and atmosphere then New York entirely. It was nothing worth reading or anything new that the people who don't want Chicago haven't said over and over in these past couple of days. Not trying to be rude it's just irritating with what these people come up with on why GTA won't be set in a specific area and they think they have so much evidence that it'll be set in the same f*cking places we've been before. I can't wait till R* announces the new GTA with some info and it hopefully turns out to not be in VC or SA so all these people who keep saying R* won't place it anywhere else can look like complete jackasses. BGModder
GTA is, as stated by Dan Houser, more about the media portrayal of the things it covers than anything else. Crime is only really one small part of it, even though the small part is the gameplay. The majority of what there is to experience in GTA revolves around criticism of American media. You need to stop saying that.. lol If they took out the advertisements and pisstakes, the game would still be GTA. If they took out the cars, crime, gangs, cops and weapons, the game certainly wouldn't be GTA. No, if they took out the advertisements and pisstakes, the game would be Saints Row. Yes because Saints Row is GTA without ads.... Saints Row is Saints Row because of its unrealistic, cartoonish gameplay. GTA is GTA because you are in a criminal world where you have the power to do whatever you want and civilians are caught in the crossfire. There are very few places in Miami that are considered gritty. Every city has bad parts... I'm sure the coke and pill dealers dont pedel their wares on ocean drive when the suns shining! This was a while ago (about 12 or 13 years) but surely there's still bad parts of town? Yes of course, those are bad parts of Miami but they look completely different from anything found in New York. Maybe Chicago is a little different from New York but not significantly. If you really want to prove me wrong, add a few pictures. I am actually curious to see how New York is different from Chicago other than the obvious reasons. supermortalhuman
NYC is gray. Chicago is brown. NYC in the fall is brown. Too similar, unless Rockstar don't care. I don't have to post sh*t to prove you wrong. You want to see pictures you look it up. I live in NYC and I've visited Chicago numerous times. I KNOW from experience they are 2 very different cities in both architecture and enviroment as well as atmosphere and people living there. The only real similarities are they are 2 large and culturally and ethic diverse cities.
