TLAD/BOGT DC vs. Episodes from LC XBOX360 DVD

Recommended Posts

Hello all -

This is my current situation. I bought Episodes from Liberty City for my xbox360 and a few of my friends bought the downloadable content The Lost and Damned and Ballad of Gay Tony. Is anyone else having problems playing multi-player if one person has the disc and other people have just the downloadable content?? Also Is there a fix for this yet? If not Rockstar should fix this.

Thanks

Yeah man! That's total bullsh*t. I'm gonna send rockstar an email and see what they have to say.

They won't be able to hear you over all that money we've gave them, and even if they did hear a whisper, do you really think Rockstar would even care what you have to say? Truth is, Rockstar don't care about us, and will find ways to f*ck us all over if it means more money from them.

Short answer, Rockstar will reply with "You will have to buy Episodes from Liberty City instead of the DLC".

Actually that is not entirely true ^^^

You can play TBoGT with your friends no matter which one they have, HOWEVER TLaD is not cross-compatible, due to a slightly updated map.

Thanks for the info! Good to know that its only lost and damned that has that problem.

I bought Episodes from Liberty City. My friends are the ones with the downloadable content. hahahaha! Anyways i sent rockstar an email If i get any response from them ill post it here.

You should e-mail Micro$oft because it's them that locked the DLCs to their S*hitBox XBox.

No need for fanboy comments, Microsoft had nothing to do with this, it's Rockstar fault because they changed The Lost and Damned on Episodes from Liberty City which meant it was incompatible with the already released DLC version.

I wish Rockstar would update TLAD DLC to match EFLC. The fact TBoGT is compatible shows it's possible and I can't imagine it would be very much work. Are they really just going to sit there and hope everyone buys EFLC over this? That's not going to happen.

I don't get why everyone's so huffy puffy about this.

Sure, maybe the TLaD enchancement was a small scale scam, or maybe they just wanted to enhance the game so players could enjoy it more, who knows?

But who cares. It's $50..... go work at McDicks making $9 an hour as a fry cook and you can pay for the game in 6 hours of work, that's not even a full shift.

Thats not the point. The point is that if rockstar is gonna release something especially if its the same thing as DLC or on a disc it should of been made to work with each other! the fact that if you wanna buy the disc isn't the freakin point!

THIS.

The fact is, a lot of people (over 2 Million) bought The Lost and Damned on DLC. For Rockstar to then to make small improvements on the game and lock us DLC-ers out from EFLC-ers is just a stupid move, Rockstar want us to use Multiplayer as they've shown on News Wire, but having TWO sets of TLAD on the SAME platform is just, well, retarded.

I have bought EFLC to take note of the changes in the game and there are a fair few. If anything Rockstar should take TLAD DLC off Xbox Live and re-release the updated version for people to upgrade to, because the main change is the Map, which can't be fully done in a Patch. Subtle changes, yes, but the actual full TBOGT map, not so much.

Why should they do this? One, us fans who bought the content will get to enjoy it as it should of been, the full version, and Two, it means they'll be able to unite the Multiplayer.

GTA multiplayer is highly unpopular. They have to appeal to the majority, and the majority buy GTA for the story - the story is enhanced by better graphics, and therefor it was a smart move on their part, and one that i'm sure appealed to more fans than not.

If you want some hardcore multiplayer sh*t, go become a Halo nerd.

What the f*ck are you talking about? Every time I go into a Free Mode game, the room has atleast 10 players, and there is practically unlimited amount of rooms.

Are you talking about LCS or the original DLC? Because my experience in the roughly 5 months since i bought TLaD has been long wait periods just to find no one joins a game, or maybe i get 1 or 2 people, that leave half the time because no one else joins.

TBOGT is fairly new, so maybe that's why there's a spark in multiplayer. But give it time and the multiplayer search screens will be a bone yard.

You don't get it? This is a teachable moment so listen.

R* should have made this incompatibility known before TBoGT and EFLC were released.

I own two 360s, have both DLCs on one and bought EFLC for the other so I can play with my wife, nieces and nephews. TLAD is our favorite and we can't even play together.

I would have GLADLY bought the DLC for my other 360 instead of EFLC but R*, after making their millions, couldn't take the time to let their client base know of this problem.

How would you feel if you were robbed of $50 and then told by a police officer, "But who cares. It's $50..... go work at McDicks making $9 an hour as a fry cook and you can make your money back"

You get it now? I knew you would. wink.gif

What's updated in the EFLC's TLaD map?

It uses TBOGT Map, so all the new clubs are there, Luis's place, the updated Rotterdam Tower, etc, giving off a more complete city look compared to the normal TLAD. Also some changes to the clubhouse lights outside.
