vans123
The model is in a way awsome but there isnt a way to make a more realistic Texture? Automan
Realistic texture?... The texture derived from photos: F117 is a unreflection stealth plane, necessary to examine the 3D model in the game... schaefft
It may not be reflective, but the material should have some kind of specular highlight. The texture is pretty bright btw, atleast in most of the pics. You should try to make it darker. Automan
There can be no specular light, would be shot down by 1 Km. Perhaps it is better to watch the video I added... RoxRox
Nothing in real life is completely matte. All things accept light and bounce them back in some form. As a matter of true fact, the F-117A is slightly reflective. What's being suggested is that you give the main body very low specular. There's nothing unrealistic about that. Otherwise your plane appears to be a giant gray silhouette with no shape and no definition. Nonetheless, nice model, and the textures are fine - if a little bright, as said. Automan
Is the graphics engine of SA does not measure up. There is no low specular low in SA, or is there or not. The model in 3D modeling program is like this: With minimum reflection (59/100) in game: Edited November 23, 2009 by Automan Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/433445-sarelscr-lockheed-f-117a-nighthawk/?do=findComment&comment=1059648903 Share on other sites
Function-X-
It's a great model Automan, and for the reflection issue, i think you should include the both versions, and the users would choose what suits them best, reflective or matte. If you work in 3ds max, you gotta lower the value for specular (and some other as well, just import a car with a low specular value and check the values of the material). If you work in Zmodeler, you have to increase the specular value I think, it shouldnt be as bright as it is now anymore. If there was only specular highlight like on your pic in the game, how could other well made cars and planes could look like they look ingame? Automan
I know what the specular, I have made 300 mod. But it can not lower than 59/100 in ZM2 for SA (I do not use 3dsmax). The things you say do not have only flat surfaces, then for them 59/100 is good. If the surface is flat, the material see all white, when the normals are perpendicular: Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/433445-sarelscr-lockheed-f-117a-nighthawk/?do=findComment&comment=1059649431 Share on other sites
Kowaah
To prevent something like this, sure, u have to make it all more high polier. But u could use texture WITH details (Thanks Rob.Zombie) for all the chassis, instead of plain gray colour.. Rob.Zombie
Yeah a very dark grey texture would be awesome. The model looks great, but the textures suck. Automan
Increasing the polygons in a flat surface is useless. Is obvious that the texture and is not a gray color. If the surface is flat, the material see all white, when the normals are perpendicular: For matt materials you sould use higher values in zmod rather than low values. I would suggest using something like 80 - 83 as specular value. btw. any spec value lower than 60 makes no difference ingame and is imo only suitable for very shiny materials. And, I'd also suggest, like the others already did, to darken the texture. It's way too bright compared with the original Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/433445-sarelscr-lockheed-f-117a-nighthawk/?do=findComment&comment=1059649870 Share on other sites
Automan
Increasing the speculator makes things worse: What it need is the 'color of the reflection' that there is in GTA IV, while in SA is not and there is always white. Automan
I found the problem: ZM2 missing a parameter in the management of specular: Now, okay: Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/433445-sarelscr-lockheed-f-117a-nighthawk/?do=findComment&comment=1059650510 Share on other sites
schaefft
Good to see the problems solved now, looks better than before. I know it could look even better with specular maps, but SA doesnt support those. Im pretty sure IV does, just have never seen any on cars Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/433445-sarelscr-lockheed-f-117a-nighthawk/?do=findComment&comment=1059650894 Share on other sites
Automan
About GTA IV: I think if a game has 5 patches a year, it is better not to change even the default installation path... Rob.Zombie
Nah R* is a freaking dumbass. All they want is to stop cheaters, they really don't care about the PC community. They have never released a patch, where you can't modify your vehicles.img. And YES this is a very big problem, since modded cars in MP causes crashes. So if you are hesitating on converting it to IV, I think you should As for the F117, try to make it a bit darker and it'll be perfect.
