^ Not all that accurate, dude.

Fill me in, then, tiger. And do try to make sense.

I mentioned above, where you were off.

The APPLE logo is such a classy icon, it never grows old in it's 80s guise (started out in black and white as Newton's Apple, under a tree etching)

BTW, Otter, I'm sticking to the topic, I can't afford not to.

I've a better idea, get a decent laptop, install Kalyway OSX on it and print an apple sticker and stick it on the back. There, a MacBook Pro.

You started to say about how your PowerPC mac couldn't run x86 apps... I think?

That's not a fault of new macs.

Oh god, this for like 90% of everything.

I don't even know why I bother sometimes.

Slammy, you didn't contradict a single thing I said, as far as I can tell.

I grew up with a PC, so it would take a lot of time for me to get used to a Mac, but almost everyone who has one seems to be pleased with it. A big minus for me is there are no games, and there are a lot of people who get Macs just because it's the "IN" thing to do. I can't argue with the facts, though. Apple has some quality products that just lure you in.

I saw a couple outside my apartment on a Macbook, sharing it, and that was odd, just know there's no open Wifi there! hahaha

The oddball thing from the first company to put Windows Gui out there, they put one Windows button on the opposite side of the upper control (Windows border, upper left)

I kept moving to the upper right, where Windows puts all theres. Then typically you can Right click on the upper left in Windows and get drop down additionals, replicating those like Maximize, min, close.

It is more steeped in an English, fully worded dialogue OS, where there are full sentences used in drop down menus, at least it's somewhat more explanatory in menus, even Help screens that come up, like optional balloons that show up when you hover over something and want more details on it. Drop and Drag are common among Win and Mac OS.

I grew up using Apple DOS, versus MS DOS for the PC, so I remembered commands from Applesoft more then the conventions used in MSDOS.

My cousins first showed me the PC commands, in a very minor way, I didn't deal with it enough to remember and use to great effect. DOS simply, on Apples, lead to ProDos, if anyone remembers, I have plenty of documented magazines and the spiral Apple books on using ProDos, designed for the more technical 16 bit systems. Where they phased out DOS.

leik oh em jeez!

50% of people that buy Macs buy them to make people think they know a lot about copmuters. They go up to their friends like"Ha, you still use a PC, if you knew anything you'd buy a Mac, or at least get FireFox." Which if they did know anything about computers, they would know that Macs are overly expensive, have close to no games, and are impossible to customize. FireFox on the other hand, while it destroys IE on Linux and Macs, there isn't much of a performance difference on Windows, because IE is built into the OS, allowing it to start faster and use less memory.

Complaints don't add anything useful, however. I just remember, the Mac and the ][ segregated Apple loyalists at the time, and in 1989, it was phasing out nearly completely, I recall one magazine covering all the software in it's death throes (I bought that particular issue to chronicle and document the state of Apple.)

Steve Jobs and the rest of the company had inner conflicts, Head of Pepsi and then Apple, John Sculley had problems running Apple as well, even though I think he's a good guy, and his heart was in the right place. Same thing with Steve Wozniak. They took a very Homebrew approach to building the biggest garage based company the World has ever known, I respect them endlessly for that, I just would like a way to take something I do on my G3 in Photoshop 7 and use it in the PC or PC online World, where I'd have my PC connected, but the Apple would not be...lacking a dialup board) I have been wondering about using AOL on that machine, I doubt it though.

That's not too technical, nor informative, Heck, I can do better then that! hahaha ^

Thanks for the headsup on the Apple // and Woz dot Org sites in the remembering tech thread of General Chat, I was not aware and they should be of great interest for Apple fans.

I have split loyalties, I believe Apple dropped the ball, and like US automakers, there's little familiar about the same name branding over all those years
