Remix Posted November 8, 2012 Share Posted November 8, 2012 Looks incredibly awesome. As I really hated Assassin's Creed 3, hopefully this will be the sandbox game that I really enjoy this year. I think a lot of the advertising from Ubisoft was dedicated to another AAA title that was just released, so it's a shame that not many people know about this! Oh nah, it's still a November 29 release here. I just mean that back in June it was originally planned to be released in September. Pre ordered it two weeks ago after seeing a "open world" walkthrough where they explained how the game actually worked and how open it was... When I get home over Christmas this is probably going to be the game that takes up all my time, it's the only game I've really been dying to get my hands on, especially after hearing how Hitman Absolution and AC3 have failed to meet expectations. I thought Far Cry 2 Was excellent, its main criticisms were valid but it was a solid and enjoyable game. I only have one concern regarding FC3 and that's that the world looks a little bit too lush. Maybe I'm just one of these hyper-realism gamers but I loved how grotty and dirty FC2's Africa was, it really portrayed the desperate atmosphere of the wartorn nation. FC3 doesn't seem that way, it seems too saturated and idealistic. Even though it is beautiful (and it really is, I'll be getting this on PC, I can't wait to see what my oc'd GTX670 can do with it) It doesn't seem like it'll have the same atmosphere and theme FC2 did. Even if the landscape is breath taking, the brutality of the location could be more obvious in the details. The screenshots of the pirates patrolling around a dilapidated fish market with shadows of bodies hanging from noose's comes to mind. Admittedly I never played the first Far Cry so the tropical setting is new to me. I played Crisis which is in a similar locale but overall that's the only similarity really. I really, really hate first person shooters, but i liked Far Cry, 2 was kinda boring but it wasn't that bad, 3 looks f*cking amazing, can't wait.
