This is a discussion of FC3, I'm discussing why I don't think the Dinosaur mode would do justice.

To be blunt, no you aren't. Your going off on a largely nonsensical rant which appears to be about how evil the very concept of fictional creations in works of fiction are, but might as well be about how much you like fish and chips for all the sense it makes. Then you attacked a couple of other posters with some bad mockery for no real reason. "Discussion" doesn't really come into it.

Does anyone have an idea of when the next patch is coming out for this game? You know, the one that's going to have an option to reset all outposts, and add a new difficulty level?

 

Also, at what point do I unlock the South island? I've been sinking most of my time into side tasks, and haven't got too far in the story.

I don't think that they've confirmed a specific date just yet, I'd say expect it within the next two to three weeks, that's the longest I see them waiting after they've announced the new patch. I could be wrong though so don't hold me to it as it's just speculation, I'm also loving the fact they've added an extra level of difficulty, I also like the little poke at Far Cry 2 "worse than malaria".

 

After a very big change in management and that's all I say about getting to the second island, oh and if you're wondering yes you do in fact have to complete more of the story until you gain access to the second island, of course you could travel there by boat, but the enemies there will tear you to pieces if you're not prepared and at the start of the game, you are no where near prepared for the second island.

 

Now, if we've gotten over the rather pathetic and childish outburst from GunWrath would anyone like to continue speculating the dinosaur DLC, I don't know why but it seems like something that'd just guarantee extra sales if done right, I mean come on, who doesn't want to see Pirates vs Dinosaurs ? that sounds so goddamn awesome it should be made into (and most likely already is) a film.

if you want Sci-Fi action, play a Sci-Fi game.. why bring an element such as dinosaurs into Far Cry? That has absolutely sh*t to do with the series or the story?

you need to relax.

 

the dinosaur DLC is an awesome idea.

it doesn't matter that Far Cry has nothing to do with science fiction. it's just a fun idea to add flavor to your game. it doesn't ruin the series or the story.

It's a lot like Undead Nightmare for RDR really. I mean, I loved RDR's atmosphere and didn't like the idea of adding zombies, so I didn't get the DLC. If you don't want dinosaurs in FC3, then don't download it. Simple solution.

I'd love dinosaurs in FC3, I loved the Carnivores games, and it would be great in a free-roam settings.

 

And as others said, if you don't want it, don't download it. I don't think they'll do it though.

of course you could travel there by boat, but the enemies there will tear you to pieces if you're not prepared and at the start of the game, you are no where near prepared for the second island.

actually... you can't go to the 2nd island before the story mission that opens it up.

 

if you drive a boat towards the 2nd island prior to gaining official access, the game will kick you out.

you'll get the same 'Out of Bounds' warning that you get when you try and drive a boat towards those fake "background" islands that you can see as part of the skybox.

 

you need to do the story mission that unlocks the 2nd island before you can physically travel there.

I think they should add a new island for the Dino DLC. Have some sort of storyline where people on the east coast start hearing unexplained roars in the winds off the coasts as big waves rush in. A crew sets out to explore it never to return. They call Brody to action to track them down. Welcome to Jurassic Park.

So I started a new game on Hard. Holy shizzle there's already three moments that amazed my nuts!

 

First one wasn't the spectacular but it was rather calming. I was using the glider and just enjoying the bird's eye view of the island. Then an eagle came out of nowhere and just flew beside me. Damn who knew gliding with an eagle could be so fun?

 

Second one was probably the most intense moment of my life. I somehow found myself in the ocean so I had to swim all the way back to the island. It was already a long journey, to make matters worse, two sharks were on my ass. I was screaming as I made it to the shore. Right on cue pirates came out of nowhere just as soon I got back onto the beach. There was like a whole squadron of them. I C4'ed their assholes and one of their cars just went flying into the jungle. It was like a flaming ball of fire being tossed in there. The whole jungle was on fire, trees and grasses all burning. I thought everyone was dead, them came one more pirate. You know how movies there will always be a cool guy who walks away from explosions? This mofo pirate was one of them. This pirate grabbed his machete out, ran out of the burning jungle and charge towards me. Damn man. I wish I took a screenshot of him running out of that burning jungle. Then I shot him in the head.

 

Last moment probably made me sh*t my pants. I was on a jet ski, so I decided to bail out at some random area. So I dived out and landed right on top of a crocodile. That motherf*cker made me screamed like a little pussy.

 

This my friends, this is a good game.

Hmm haven't touched the game since... well the release and finishing the game then. Have alot to do still... but I'm afraid how much fun it was there's nothing that makes me want to go back (especially not those sh*tty DLC missions).

Played it earlier on Master and it was too easy, the AI on this game just isn't good enough. They literally still act stupid as sh*t, sometimes not noticing you when your clearly in their vision (albeit in the corner of their eye) and other times running up to you just not shooting like imbeciles. Plus i can still tag and see people through walls, which is also sh*t. It seems instead of actually making the game harder with better AI they have just increased the amount of damage you take. Very disappointing. Feels like it should be Medium setting, instead of Master.

OK, so I only got this game yesterday. I'm so glad I didn't spoil any of it for myself except a video I watched about doing the radio towers which was nice.

 

So here's some things I noticed. The radiotower thing is a great addition. For such a huge map it makes doing the map section by section a little more manageable. For a scattered-brain creative type like myself I need some self-imposed guidelines to get my through some large free-roam games.

 

The game almost reminds me of Just Cause 2. Not in the obvious sense of course but in a territorial way. You take over those outposts and then those rebels or anti-faction guys move in and help you out. I got in to a gun fight and then I noticed van pull up and it was some guys from the outpost I had taken control over and they joined in and helped me.

 

So far, I f*ckin' love the game. I hope I still feel I love it in a couple of weeks.

 

Can anyone tell me about multiplayer or CO-OP? I bought a second hand copy so I think I need a UPlay code.

Is multiplayer/Co-OP any use?

 

Another question: We all play games differently, some times the similarly. I'm taking a more methodical approach. I'm doing the first section but unlocked the second radio-tower. I'm going to try get as much as I can out of each section before moving on. Are you guys doing that or are you just going on to the next main mission?

 

EDIT: I watched 1min of co-op play online. I'm sold. Looks amazing.

COOP has a different story with 4 people in it. Reminds me of Left 4 Dead series. I only played 2 chapters so far.

 

Multiplayer has map editor and 4 gamemodes. Even though 4 gamemodes is not much, it's still fun to play. Especially Team Deathmatch. When I first played MP on Far Cry 3, I leveled up like 16 levels in one day. This is probably the only game that I owned a lot of people. I suck at CoD, CS and other shooter games, but FC3 is kinda different. My favorite part of MP is "Final Move". The winner of the game chooses what to do with 1st place team member that lost. Either "No mercy" or "Punish".

 

About the main story. I advice you to complete side missions. Judging by the handbook the game has 38 story missions. I kinda imagine being GTA V like this. I usually do "Wanted DEAD" missions, which is kinda fun. I don't know if the game has free roam after you beat it though, so I'm more focusing on side missions.

Excellent, sounds awesome.

 

That's what I'm going to do. I watched a review video and the guy just seemed to some it up very well. His only issues with the game were ones I can really forgive.

 

yeah man. I think I'll do all the side missions first. I'll try kill some animals and craft some stuff for myself and then try be as armed and ready as I can for the next section.

 

EDIT: I forgot to mention I'm sh*t at COD and BF3 as well. I don't really like those games. I much prefer games with there's paramilitaries, terrorists and less national or legal forces. Something with a bit more depth than running and gunning with guys who signed up to be there. I don't really play multiplayer much but I reckon this game is perfect for me.

Yeah, I had a fun time playing with you. I'm kinda good, but not after I play single player first, since enemies are different. I think you play better than me though.

 

And yea, I'm a team player. I try to help almost everyone. I also try to reach top 3 places, because I like the final move moments.

 

I play almost every day in the noon and in the evening (GMT).
