[REL|SA] HQ SA Radar

What can I say... It's just a higher quality radar map for San Andreas. Nothing special, but I hope you'll like it as I put much effort in making it. smile.gif

Package includes a .SAMI file, so installing this mod shouldn't be much of a problem.

Map made entirely in Inkscape.

Yeah, I know, but apart from that, nothing's changed. When he made the III radar, he changed roads, water & stuff, naw mean?

Eventhough you can already see a difference in the preview... it doesn't do any justice to the 'real deal'. It's alot sharper, the colours are alot better.

Overall: it's a HUGE improvement in my opinion (and I finally got SA fixed again... I must've tried everything out by now to get it running again :]).

I know what you mean. As I said it's just a higher quality map, and preview img is 6x smaller than what you get in-game - that's why difference is hardly visible.

To be honest, I made regular radar map only because it's now fairly easy to make GTAIII style radar (in fact I've made it by now, now I just must make other color schemes and get it in-game; it'll take a couple of days or so).

Plus this map looks much better when you see it in the game. Like 4xAA or 8xAA in stead of the normal one that looks strange with some pixels sometimes showed in some corners.

Other bugs found
...argh.

http://yojo2.ovh.org/fix102.zip - these files need to be replaced.

hqri-sa v1.02 will be up as soon as possible.

Any ideas of making other colors, like you did with III one ?
I'll upload also partially transparent version of this radar, and also I'll upload HQ Radar GTAIII style that'll come in 7 colour schemes.

Can't you put a thumbnail up for the real sized one?
Here's real sized image:

Thanks man, now I really see it. cookie.gif

@txdeditor: Great idea! But you're right, it's a lot of work.

Too much work in fact. I'm already fed up with making the original one, so I guess I won't make that styled radar map... at least not in near future. Sorry.

yojo, would you be interested in making a few small original radar maps as possible concept art? That would really, really be helpful and something I've looked for, for a long time. Awesome map here, if you have ideas for new maps, please, drop me a PM, I'll give you some more details.

To create a set of your own radar maps, each like the size of portalnd or staunton of GTA III, to pick from and perhaps to then model it. Just want to see if you could whip up some original maps.

A small town or city of roads that can be added to later, but some concept to see if I can do a map from it smile.gif

Hm, it sounds quite interesting, I might try it but not in the near future as I'm fed up with making maps (it's boring work, really).

AFAIK they're exactly the same as the PC ones, so it's pointless.
