I have a spare key but first I'm going to 'offer' it to a friend of mine. If he ain't using it or doesn't want it I can give it to you dills (or anyone else?).

I'd appreciate a key if your friend doesn't want it. smile.gif

I always thought you were a console gamer? Anyways I haven't spoken my mate yet though I will probably this evening. You're the first to know if my mate doesn't want it wink.gif.

I like to play games on all Platforms really, yeah sure consoles is where i play most of my games but playing games on PC is a just as fun for me.

@fullmetal: I PM'ed you about a week aho about a key, what's up with that?

I thought I sent you a PM back stating where I got my key (site ceased spreading out keys days after they announced they weres giving keys to registered members).

You can also sign up to EA or BAD COMPANY 2's website. I had a EA account for a while now and I got sent my key yesterday (kind of late though I already had my key by signing up to the site I previously mentioned in this topic).

Still haven't been able to talk to my mate.

I don't remember but I think you might want to check out the official Bad Company 2 website.

Well: first to PM me gets it sent... be fast!

Key is gone. ozzman1 is the lucky guy. I might get a hold of some more keys seeing as I had subscribed and such to alot of the websites that gave out keys.

what's up with the retards camping at the heli spot at the harbor just to crash in the water when they got it. mad.gif

Oh god I hate that crap. Yesterday I saw 8 of my team mates just relaxing at the heli pad. Then when the heli finally spawnedand one lucky guy snagged it, didn't even wait for a gunner. He gets over the hanger with the crate in it then is blown out of the sky before he can even make it to the water. It's almost as bad as Retard Ridge/Sniper Hill.

Potato Boggle

Score.

That was the result of a match that lasted about an hour and a half. It was 6(My team) on 3 at first then about 30 mins later it was 4 on 2 and then 4 on 3. The attacking team put up a hell of a fight. They got all the way to the last defending point and destroyed B but couldn't get A. There was 1 point left for attackers when they rushed A with a tank and a mini tank. They started shooting it and almost destroyed it when my friend got a C4 on the tank and a team member shot the mini tank with a guided rocket.

I got around 38 medals and 4 dog tags.

I mainly sniped and shotgunned.

Enjoying the PC beta I see sigh.gif. Anyways I also played the Xbox demo over at a friends house a couple of times and realised they have an even lower level cap and 'unlock' cap which is very demotivating. Heck, once I realised that I gave up on that demo. I already found it annoying that I couldn't go any further than LVL11 and certain unlocks (yeah I know it's just a beta, though I'm really looking forward to the game itself!) but the level cap on the 'demo' is just insane. You just play two or three games and then you've experienced the demo.

Are there any more class unlocks in the PC Beta past the XM8/SCAR/M249/QBU88?

Well you can unlock the SVU (well, could be wrong but it's the Semi-auto sniper rifle), the FN 2000 and the SAIGA shotgun.

Also, more 'Specalisations' are unlockable aswel as more gadgets and more 'attachements': Shotgun underbarrel attachement, Smokegrenadelauncher underbarrel attachement, Red Dot sights and a 12 x aswel as a 4 x scope for Sniper Rifles.

Also a superior rocketlauncher (the Swedish made one I guess which doesn't need a flare to lock onto).

I forgot to mention some but there is even more. It's awesome to have these customisation options though they're not ridiculous upgrades like sprinting 500 times faster than anyone else, being able to knife someone at a distance of 5 feet and automatically teleport to your victim.

Though I'm kind of disappointed by the number of weapons. There should've been more new ones instead of the exact same weapons with a few additions. I can't believe why the XM8 is in the game as Assault Rifle, as Sub Machine gun (for 'Specialist/Engenier') AND as LMG for the Medic class. But the FNSCAR is only in the game as SMG. Same can be said about the M4.

Also from a Interview from Worthplaying:

WP: Is there anything about the game that we haven't talked about that you wanted to add?

PB: One thing that's also very interesting is how we see our customers. We see the game as the first step to a longer experience. We have an in-game store where you get free content or you can buy new content to the game, so it's a very integral part of the game that we will have a long post-launch campaign. I think people will be thrilled to see what's in that already. On day one, you will get some really cool stuff.

WP: Looking at console versus PC, since the advent of digital distribution with Steam and broadband becoming more common, it's almost like we're seeing a resurgence in PC gaming. As a developer, is console versus PC really an either-or question, or has it gotten back to the point where you need to develop for all of them?

PB: At DICE, we never really let go of the PC. Bad Company 1 was an exception because we initially designed it to be a console-only game. We got a lot of negative comments about that when we released the game because people asked, "Hey, this is a real Battlefield game. Why aren't you releasing it for PC?" This time around, we decided, yes, let's make Bad Company 2 for the PC so that the audience can enjoy the game as well. We're not taking it lightly and just making a port. We actually have a big PC-focused team just working on the PC version of the game. I think the PC gamers will be amazed with the quality that we get out of the PC. We have DirectX 11 support, we support all the latest sound and graphics, and we even have support for nVidia's 3-D screens, so there's a lot of cool stuff going on when it comes to the PC version.

Wow, i wish they'd given more unlocks for the console demo, as you said it takes like 2 or 3 games to get all the stuff really and that's not really enough for an MP demo, i deffinetly want a key for the PC Beta now just to get some more unlocks, i wish i'd played the PS3 Beta a bit more back when it was out, everything was available for unlock then, i got pretty much every single specialization and a bunch of weapons to use.

Damn i want this game to come out soon.

Anyone have a Beta key I can have? Or know how to get my hands on one?

Me and a mate just went too our local EB Games, where they give you a key if you pre-order the game. My mate, (who went before me), got the last CD key from that store, and the other three EB Games stores in my City. I was so pissed.

I was actually surprised that for the first time PC gamers do NOT get the 'short end of the stick'. I even expected the PC gamers to get 'f*cked over' in a way eventhough Dice promised alot of good things.

But then again: now that I'm starting to think about it this ain't fair. PS3 users could unlock as much as PC Beta users (or even more I think) but Xbox360 gamers 'just' get two/three rankup levels and a handfull of items they can unlock.

But on the other hand: PS3 had a BETA and the PC users got the same thing, a BETA. Xbox360 users got on the other hand a DEMO. Maybe that was their reasoning... PS3 Beta also being used as 'reference' for a public 'Xbox360' beta so they shouldn't work with two console betas?

Anyways: end of the line it f*cking sucks for Xbox360 gamers. Didn't PS3 gamers get the demo too (Port Valdez map?) on top of the BETA they got (that 'dusty Middle Eastern' map?).

The PS3 beta had the Arica Harbour map (which is actually South America, not middle east) and i don't think there was a level cap for it either, if you played enough i think you could unlock everything in the beta and there wasn't a level cap from what i could see as i was seeing people at level 30 and beyond.

I also think Arica Harbour was a much better map compared to Port Valdez. The AMericans were attacking with Russians Defending, the US started off with maybe 3/4 M1 Abrams, a few Humvees and the UAV whereas the Russians had 2 T-60s and that was it, after the first point though there was 1 Heavy tank each that spawned and any other tanks that had survived the first point, then after that i the Russians had no tanks and the Americans just had the Abrams and the UAV, possibly a Humvee. Infact i think the map as a whole is much better than Port Valdez, even though PV is still a fun as hell map.

Oh ok my bad then, I was convinced it was located somewhere in the Middle East it being so dusty and all biggrin.gif. Stereotyping, got to love it.

Anyways: by the sound of it Arica harbour sounds damn awesome. Alot of tanks means more massive gameplay involved. Then it's really about the team who plays the most in team and plays 'smart'.

Can't wait though... there are too many good games coming out this year, not to mention "DLC" that I'm also looking forward to!

I absolutely love the UAV if you have the alternate fire for vehicles, i just went on a 20 killstreak with it just hovering around the points and defending them, callinbg in a rocket to take care of vehicles, i managed to kepe the same one from the Construction site UAV spawn point and use it until the last area ans you can just clean house with it, i managed to get a bunch of headshots with it too.

Good lord this game has problems! I was attempting to shoot the objective with the tank and the crosshairs are completely inaccurate! The top of the crosshair scale (whatever it's called) was pointed at the ground about 10 feet in front of the thing you're supposed to destroy and my shot still overshot the thing by about 30 feet! USELESS!!

I don't know why I still continue to post in this topic. I hate this game and have been disappointed by every DICE game I've ever played. They rush the development of their games to make deadlines resulting in underwhelming games that don't have an ounce of fine-tuning.

Sorry about the rant.

eh... you do realise that the crosshair of the T-90 is the + in the middle, right? I made the same mistake when I first jumped in it on the PS3 beta.

and you say that dice rushes their games? you must be still riding the mw2 hype train then...

MW2 anyone?

Infinity Ward, now theirs a company that rushes it's games, well at least it's latest game. Thats why you can still find glitches in MW2 and you'll likely see none or very very very few in BC2.

MW2 has tons of glitches! Especially in multiplayer. Look on any forum...people are pissed about it left and right. But at least they're glitches that you can work with.

you'll likely see none or very very very few [glitches] in BC2.

When my crosshairs are off by 30 feet [in BF:BC2] that's pretty game-breaking! Not to mention that explosives have a habit of not damaging enemies on foot. I shot someone with that mounted rocket launcher thing and it hit the ground right at the guy's feet without damaging him. So I did it again and it hit a wall that he war right next to...again, no damage! Then he turns around and kills me with his SCAR. I guess those aren't technically 'glitches'. So you're right. BF:BC2 has hardly any glitches! A glitch is really just a gameplay element that someone 'breaks' and uses for their own advancement. So, by definition, BF:BC2 can't have a glitch because it's gameplay is already broken from the get-go.

Glitches aside, the game is just ugly. Maybe it's just the level they have in the demo but it's all gray and uninteresting. The design of the level makes it really hectic and doesn't seem to have any natural choke points. The guns are really dull and lack detail. They feel like pea shooters. Movement is stiff making traversal of narrow areas tedious.

MW2 and BF:BC2 were both rushed. That's quite apparent. They were both developed in roughly two years, right? Yet MW2 is much more playable and has a much more balanced learning curve. The guns look and feel much more real and you feel like you're actually accomplishing something when you kill someone or destroy an objective. In BF:BC2 it just feels like I'm killing ants with pea shooters whereas in MW2 it feels like I'm killing someone who is actively trying to kill me from somewhere else in the world.

In BF:BC2 you don't get much of a sense of actually physically being there in the game which is something a good video game needs. In a video game you don't have peripheral vision which the game has to compensate for. MW2 compensates by doing a really good job of using enemy footsteps and damage indicators to let you know where your enemy is. I have a stereo TV and I can still tell which direction sounds are coming from 90% the time! In BF:BC2 I'm constantly left wondering what the heck happened when I die because the gunshot sounds like it came from everywhere at once. And It's not that I'm bad at the game (top 3 almost every time with around 25 kills and a few bomb plants) it's just that when I do get a kill, half the time it's luck [due to the terrible hit recognition] and doesn't feel like I really did anything.

To sum all that up:

-When I'm playing MW2 I feel like I'm actually there accomplishing something. I tense up when I meet up with an enemy face-to-face and I feel accomplished when I make a tough shot.

-When I'm playing BF:BC2 I feel like I'm staying at a boring, unimaginative location through my TV. No sense of immersion at all. I constantly find myself wondering how the developers could release a game that lacks so much polish. Then I remember...it's made by DICE.

well if you're expecting a bad company game to play exactly like call of duty then there is no point in your whining.

atleast there's a little bit of realism in BC2...unlike call of duty.

and I guess you haven't really had a battlefield moment yet...

I don't expect it to play like MW2. I was desperately hoping for a game that rewarded strategic thinking unlike MW2. But it's even worse! You have 4 types of players in this game:

-The camper who sits back and snipes.

-The camper who sits on a turret or heli station the whole time

-The runners who do nothing but close combat and usually come out with about a 1.00 KDR

-The vehicle whores who spend all their time in the vehicles and are useless on foot.

Realism!? Ha! They were definitely going for more realism but failed. The gameplay is incredibly tedious at best - broken at worst and the graphics are dull and not life-like at all.

and I guess you haven't really had a battlefield moment yet...

You mean that awesome feeling when your entire team is storming the the other team and everyone is taking cover and protecting each other and working in unison? Yea, I've had that. One time on the first night of the demo when everyone was playing. I haven't seen real teamwork since.

MW2 may not be realistic but at least is succeeds in being insanely fun and rewarding. Realistic is NOT the golden of standard of a good game! Every time someone says "at least it's realistic" I cringe. It's like you think that a bit of realism makes up for all the other crap. You know what else is realistic!? Real life. And it's pretty boring most of the time -- on second thought maybe BF:BC2 is realistic. wink.gif

- some of those campers can actually help if they're skilled enough, I managed to plant the bomb on the M-COM station B and 2 guys that were on the same squad managed to cover it untill it was gone.

- haven't seen turret whores yet, only heli whores. but again some of them have actual skill so unless they crash in the building once they take off, I have nothing against them.

- yes, annoying brats.

- if they're from the enemy team, go engineer, tag the vehicle, lock on and aim 90 degrees up the air and fire.

by realism I meant no dumb things like a teleporting perk (commando) or plastic guns, and vehicles. (but that's one of the main things about battlefield)

graphics do not make the game, I personally thought they looked better than MW2 though.

and the battlefield moment...yes that, but unless you're playing with actual friends with mics in a squad instead of dumb randomers, your argument is invalid to me.

also, mw2 fun and rewarding? what crack have you been smoking? I want some too.

remember when fourzerotwo said you'd get big things for going prestige? guess what, some lame ass emblems and titles, that was all.

the only fun thing about mw2 are the glitches and the campaign.

(that brings me to another point, explain me why mw2 is on its 7th patch already? yes, because it sucks. call of duty 4 ftw)

That's your narrow minded interpretation. Same can be said about arcady 'balanced' gameplay/games like Modern Warfare 2: they're boring as f*ck because there is no real effort involved. Run around knifing... spray the living sh*t out of all walls and all moving things... get yourself Danger Close Pro and tube the sh*t out of everyone.

While realistic games require more effort and actual teamplay.

rolleyes.gifthis was just to show how full of sh*t my own 'reasoning/explanation' was just as how what you just said about 'realism' and 'Bad Company 2' just doesn't make any sense.
